What is your view on the reasons for modern divorce?I could have communicated better, but often met with enough sarcasm and judgement that I took the easy road and shut my mouth. Then the gap widens | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/03/25 09:58 PM
How the FuckPermission granted, just don’t put too much effort into it… don’t give her that power | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/02/25 02:41 AM
How the FuckThe fuel for your hate is your own soul. Can’t change yesterday, figure out what you want for tomorrow and just work on that. Married for 30 and recently single. No one bossing me around in my space any more. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/02/25 02:19 AM
What to do with the house when my wife wants to keep it but cant afford the mortgage? Would it be dumb to become her landlord?Virginia but it’s not the state that is the issue, your lender must allow it and she must qualify. Still, if she can do it, she’d retain the original terms. And of course, you gotta call the lender and explain what is happening. They won’t make it easy to find the answer. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/02/25 08:22 PM
What to do with the house when my wife wants to keep it but cant afford the mortgage? Would it be dumb to become her landlord?I went through this exact scenario a year ago. YES, you are missing a lot. On my final decree in December, she will be paying the mortgage out of the support she was awarded but she has 18 months to assume the mortgage or the house will be sold. Remember that if she lives there, YOU are responsible for all repairs (A/C, Trees, plumbing, insurance, etc.) YOU are responsible if her or any guest gets hurt. YOU remain exposed for so much liability. And, YOU will remain in her life in perpetuity and … | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/02/25 07:45 PM

Too old to divorceI’m out at 53. When I 51 and all this started, I was miserable, in debt to by b-hole and all I wanted was out. I busted my ass. By the time the papers were signed, I have only my mortgage (I bought a house 6 months ago) to pay and $3k to her each month. Sounds like a lot but I was way worse off before. Now I have peace. You’re putting a lot of belief in how/when everything will come together. It never works out like you think. Solve for peace brother. You’ll be happy you did | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/02/25 11:25 PM
Should I tell my ex-wife’s family the truth about why we separated? It doesn’t help. Recently divorced, I have not pointed out any details except that I was unhappy. Painting someone else as defective or cruel or anything else is keeping the destructive fire alive. Let it go | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/01/25 12:24 AM
She PlottedRetired military as well, my divorce was just final late, December. None of the papers are filed, this is a negotiation. I made the mistake of being kind, compassionate, and doing the best I could for her financially and it bit me hard. Just be careful, and talk to your lawyer a lot. It’ll be cheaper in the end to get guidance in the beginning. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/01/25 11:56 AM

STBX passionately wants to stay in the homeNot so much concerned of the outcome, she is entitled to a percentage of my military pension. If she can use that to pay the amount then I don’t care one way or another. I can be flexible and fair if she can see I’m willing to help, a judge will assume the 50/50 division. Avoiding court is the only way I see she can get her desired outcome. I’m moving forward with my life regardless. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/04/24 02:52 AM
STBX passionately wants to stay in the homeThats a possibility. For me the dollar amount would be the same but would have increasing equity making the trade. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/04/24 06:26 PM
