I like to think that when it comes to the cabinet, we're voting on policy as well and not gender. it's actually neither. It's about representation. It's the same reason they go out of their way to make sure each Atlantic Province has a cabinet minister, when if they were going by pure "merit" that would almost never be the case. Cabinet minsters are APPOINTED to best represent the country. If half of the country is women, why shouldn't half of the body that represents it be women? Believe me, you'd be hard pressed to find someone who gets angrier than me about sexist hiring policies, but that is SO far from what this is. There are a lot of things we should be mad about. 50	My university dorms allow you to request all-female dorms, but not all-male dorms. How do they do this and not realise? The university I went to had a small all male dorm for a long time and phased it out about 5 or 6 years ago because most of the people living there did not want to be living there, and got placed there because it was all that was left. Very few people actually wanted to tick the "all male dorm" box. They still have one floor as all male, but even that ends up with mostly guys that would have preferred co-ed.
