Tldr. Its not resilience. Women get constant social interactions whether they are single or not. Men are essentially shunned when something "wrong" is perceived with them. And being single implies " he is not capable of finding someone. Something must be wrong". Like in many things, the reaction towards men is that much more violent and unforgiving

Yeah a quick search says fertility starts declining in women around 35 and men around 40. You're right this is technically later for men, but I have a hard time considering these things drastically different . I guess at this point we're both kinda splitting hairs though
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 07:12 PM

Oh darn. Hitting me with the women have it worse argument. kaykayfine

I'm really appreciative of how chill this exchange is. I just want to point out the biological clock thing is being debunked. Women think that ofter 35yo they can't have kids. It's been proven you actually can but the risks of malformations or congenital diseases increase. People say men can have children up into old age. There's more and more evidence that shows a sharp decline in fertility around the same age as women with also an increased risk of malformations and diseases . So basically, on…

Last person I opened up to used it against me when we had our last argument. She insulted me for something I didn't say or even think. I told her that was not ok and she answered "yeah but I'm such a good friend listening to you whine all the time". Lesson learned. The only person that'll get to know me and my problems is the women that will have the patience to get to know me, and that's gonna take awhile. Let's be clear hear. This isn't the effect of patriarchy. This isn't any individuals faul…

I read the book and it hit me pretty deeply. It oro ably was the first piece of literature that showed e I was not alone in those feelings of loneliness. I found it accurately depicted a lot of things I have been struggling with regarding building relationships with other people and how I am perceived as a guy. She goes on to talk about camaraderie amongst men and how it's different than with women. I think it's a good read. In any case, she seems like the only person to have tried to understand…

Yeah well last week I was telling a friend I'm sick of not being able to go a couple days without someone throwing feminism in my face. She immediately asked if I was an incel and the rest of the conversation was about how upset this made her.

Imagine I'm hiking (with a heavy backpack) and I break my ankle. Someone comes along and sees I'm hurt and can't get up. I feel like the equivalent in the story would be people saying they can't help me because I expect them to carry me home. Except I would never do that. I'd probably ask them to carry my bag for a bit or maybe find me a stick I can lean onto, maybe walk a few miles with me while I'm slowly creeping to the closest town. But no. I should man up. I should figure this shit out on m…

"it's ok you can tell me" Then goes on to give you shit for saying or thinking these things. Or "you can always tell me if somethings bothering you" and then proceeds to being more and more distant because they feel like your complaints are a way for you to ask them to deal with your problems instead of you asking them to sit with you and share the moment

I've had an eating disorder for the past 20years or so. My dad keeps reminding me that I can eat compulsively. I have seen quite a number of doctors and psychiatrists over the years. As of late, I try to tell them that I actually get up at night to eat and I'm not even completely awake. All I get is: "it's not that uncommon" and "you just have to figure out why". I'm on the verge of becoming diabetic now. I frequently wonder if they'd say the same thing to a 16yo anorexic (white) girl.

They will never. I have multiple accounts across the board. They dirty accounts will just die a silent death when the time comes

Fair enough
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 06:52 PM

I completely agree, but I feel there's a nuance here. According to the commentor, she seems to go on many dates and is still surprised by certain "subpar" experiences. Maybe she agrees too readily to dates, instead of wondering if so and so seems like a good person to hang out with? I think it's not all or nothing. We should know what kinds of things are important to us in a potential partner so that in some cases you refuse to go on a date whilst still keeping an open mind and letting yourself …

Therapy speak says that if you're repeating the same (harmful) pattern over and over again, ie you keep giving attention to the same types of people, it's just that you're still learning the lesson you are supposed to from those people. Is it the case here? I don't know
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 06:44 PM

Honestly, I don't know who you're talking about so no judging, but I've known women who are 45+ who still don't know what to look for in a guy. Doing something many times doesn't always mean you know what you're doing, especially if it comes easy for you. In this case I'd argue that because she's super hot, she gets dates really easily so she never really had to think about what things were red flags and green flags or wtv lingo you want to use. But again, I don't know her and I hope it's not th…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 06:07 PM

It's either the guy was super hot or wtv. Or the guy was super shy and nervous and wasn't quite able to hold a conversation. Either way as one of the NOT them. I don't really see what can be done about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 05:50 PM

I don't see what's crazy about it. It just seems she's still figuring out how to "preselect" her dates.

Ok, would you say the same thing for women going out clubbing in the dead of winter in London wearing miniskirts and low cut tops? I'm genuinely curious. I'm at a point in my life where I really don't care how people are dressed (imho the hottest women I've met would still look amazing wearing shitty baggy clothes anyways) but when it comes to this topic I'm always curious to see what people think.

That's specifically what I said. I feel that this behavior in women can be validated or downplayed in certain circles whereas if guys behave that way they are immediately shunned and called "nuts". This behavior exists in many people, but it is probably received differently by society at large depending on the profile of the person
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 12:15 PM

I feel like it's just the way society encourages certain behaviours in certain types of people. In some circles that kind of behaviour from women is validated, and whoever says otherwise is met with things like "I'm entitled to my emotions" and whatnot. I think the older we all get the wiser we become when it comes to regulating our emotions. What OP observes might just be that a lot of women learn this lesson later in life?

And then shift the responsibility to men. Women have problems? The world should fix it. Men have problems? Men should fix it.

You fail to see that in one situation you immediately jump to "women are not a monolith" so as to shift the blame to only the "bad women" But can't seem to recognise that men are living that exact same sentiment. At no point though am I saying you have NEVER or will EVER be in a dangerous situation due only to you gender and it is completely understandable that you should take precautions when you're out in the big open world. A little grace would be to extend the same courtesy to the people on …

That's not what he is saying. He is saying a lot of men are constantly bombarded with "all men are murderers and/or rapists until proven otherwise". It's gets exhausting after a while

So men CAN have preferences but it's just that everybody hates them for it? I'm genuinely confused. Please enlighten me.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/25 02:29 PM

I do not understand what you do not understand. Op says the statement "men can't have preferences" is false and uses this video as an example. The guy showed his preference (albeit in a shitty way) and the majority of women shut him down. This shows it would've been better for him to pretend he liked them all and that the choice would've been a difficult one, which again is not the way he sees it. No one put a gun to his head I don't understand what you're getting at here
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/25 08:52 AM

In the first video, the guy clearly shows his preference and seven or eight of the girls pop their own balloons in retaliation. How does that contradict the statement that "men cannot have preferences"?

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Women's standards are of no concern to men, but only older women get to pass judgment on younger women's choices in men? (Wouldn't that lead to inflated standards). Men are excluded from this conversation Men's standards, regardless of how high or low they are, are problematic because they are undesirable people because they are fat, watch corn have hobbies women do not like and generally are mean to women? So their opinion doesn't matter. Since when…

You're not playing the same game. You're looking for a LTR in which sax seems to hold a special place. In her case, it seems sox is just a regular Tuesday afternoon activity. Both views are allowed in the world, but hardly mesh. Tbh though, were I to meet a girl that behaves that way (the just randomly getting drunk and hooking up, or driving several hours for a one off) I'd be pretty uncomfortable investing any kind of emotion into that relationship. To each their own obviously
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/25 01:42 PM

Maybe. But given this "new" information, wouldn't you feel like your point of view in the matter should evolve?

Some women are starting to ask why men aren't approaching them. These same women tend to not like the idea of doing the approaching themselves. As a man, I'm not blaming anyone and I am not resentful of anything in this conversation. But when you look at those two points, it's clear that someone shot someone else in the foot and men weren't even a part of the discussion at that point

My parents are effectively obligated to love me by both instinct and society Yeah, it's supposed to be this way but it's not always the case. Many people grow up with shitty families. We should always be grateful if the good things we have un life. Sounds like that tiktoker is a little too entitled

I'm not the best at everything. I'm not a simp either. And if a woman leaves me just because she can find "better" (in your words, someone that pays for her stuff), then that's ok, because she never really liked me in the first place and was just using me for stuff. And she's incredibly shallow. Have some self respect.

That's the thing though. "The best" is not what is generally mentioned out there. My pursuit of happiness is linked to, in part, finding a partner that helps me create a safe space from the hustle of the outside world. I have clearly been influenced by pinky and the brain and there is a non negligible part of me that wants to conquer the world, so to speak, but I also want to be able to share these adventures and achievements with someone that appreciates the fact that I might need a breather ev…

I want to have a life partner. I want to have sex. I find some women pretty and/or interesting. None of the above means that I want to smell every single girl's panties that come my way. Quite the opposite actually. Doesn't mean way too many people out there assume I do though.
