I was trying to say, there are certain things you can't change. Those are fate. Of course you're in control of everything else. Like the four things you mentioned.

Did you choose what color your skin would be? That's fate.

I found that true as well. People are nicer to you for no apparent reason when you start looking better.

Seriously why'd he fap a lot when he can easily get girls? It doesn't make sense.

I'd disregard your advice. Would you rather be 0.0001% of Ethiopia than 20.01% of New York?

This is a feel good post. Your percentile in aggregation does not matter at all. What matters is where you stand in your surrounding. For example, if you draw the boundary beyond USA you're probably top 0.01%, but what if you're surrounded by people more successful and good looking than you? Will the women around you bow down because of you're still top 0.01% of the world? Nope.

And it's the same people calling him pervert. How ironic.

For the price Newton had to pay for being a supreme intellect was that he was incapable of friendship, love, fatherhood, and many other desirable things. As a man he was a failure as a monster he was superb. Aldous Huxley

Asians are very conformist. I won't be surprised if they lied on surveys.

And actually, young women earn more than young men in urban areas. Been true since 1975. I won't even provide a source. Just Google it. I didn't believe you till I googled that.

That's true for engineering in general. Even in school you won't see too many girls in an engineering class.

You just posted a 2 page rant because some dude on Internet "claimed" he left his 150k job because he thought it was beta. Firstly, when did we start believing everything we read on Internet? Secondly, why on earth would I give a fuck about some anonymous poster's opinion?

There's a reason behind that. People treats a socially awkward person just like a creep. It's a sad catch-22.

I find this tough. Often in a social situation I have nothing to say. If I don't say anything there will be a lingering awkward silence. If I say something from top of my head I'd say something absolutely stupid.

That's a great book. Made me sad when I read it. You should read Rational Male.

No offense. I'd rather have one single nice car, no children and no home.

my last 4 tv's i have bought at the local waterfront mission. about 35 dollars each, they are plenty big and work fine. Why did you buy 4 tvs if they worked fine?

I had a plate who 'trained' me to politely ask her for sexual favors. Once I was 'trained' she had no respect for me, acted like I was a complete asshole, made up some reasons and left.

Well, friends sounds better. Gives you more SMV. You'll sound different if you say, "Hung out with some acquaintances".

This should have been the top comment in this thread. For a lot of people just fixing addiction is everything that's needed.

One small addendum. Before labelling yourself depressed make sure you're not addicted. Even porn addiction can have deadly affect. Here's a video from a person suffered depression just because of porn addiction: https://youtu.be/YSmJDn-emqY

I admire your struggle and the positiveness you had in order to go through it. I have a different background and the challenges I'm facing are different. I'm pretty determined I'll work through them one by one. Thanks. You're right, knowing SMV is a thing was a huge eye opener.

This is why I stopped socializing out of work. People are very harsh to men with low SMV. Hard part is people who respected you in past suddenly realize you're struggling socially and start treating you like shit. Isolation isn't desired but if the other option is getting butchered I'd stick to isolation.

Tech companies are known to pay such signing bonuses for top talents even if they're fresh grads. http://qr.ae/8Djg9K It's not easy. You have to work your ass off to get there but again that was his whole point.

That's a tough question. Robert Greene's Mastery devotes it's entire first part to answer it. His answer was to follow guts and attempt paths your heart wants to take. You'll stumble on something that you'll find a strong association with. Like the way Wright brothers realized they badly wanted to make aeroplanes. But I have doubts on this. Will doing something magnanimous make you happy? Let's say you spent your entire lifetime acquiring the skills to solve a problem that's someone had to solve…

But... Isn't putting an effort to have an image in social media a complete waste of time?

All the great men I admire throughout the history were obsessed with what they wanted. It's the same quality that society sneer on made them so unbelievably successful.

I found dating sites as terrible waste of my time. By being on one you already assert the fact that you have low SMV and can't get a woman interested in you in real life. The whole getting laid business is ugly as hell. You'll be butchered if you enter with low SMV. So please don't.

It smells like time sink, but that's just my opinion.

Friendship happens when you continuously bump into each other. Think it as a chemical reaction between molecules. Clubs and hobbies are good starter.

Pause a little before getting your wallet out. Most decent girls would get the signal and proceed to split. If not don't force it upon her too directly, be subtle.

I noticed how her attraction dried out last night as I told her I'm taking care of the bill. Didn't expect that. I'm breaking a bunch of rules right now. Coming from my BB days, they seem very counter intuitive.

Facebook has good authentication system. It makes it very easy with other apps to login. It has benefits. You just don't have to login too often to drain your time to abyss.

What did you mean by providing? Is paying for a dinner for a proven plate providing?

It's just another system with rigid rules. The good values it has can easily turned upside down by someone with power. Having a fascist is one thing, having a fascist with a God behind him is a completely different thing. Problem is religion is an easy solution for all the existential crisis. Makes things even worse.

Work relationships are different depending on where you work. It's not unusual not to take your work buddies to bar to pick up women.

I know guys with Indian lineage in Silicon Valley alpha as fuck. They are not all your pretty boy type with good look and height. Their SMV comes from other places like their prized skill set, lifestyle, oozing confidence and very often the unbowed tough attitude. So if they walk into bar alone, I wouldn't be surprised if they're judged by their looks. In a social situation however, it's almost impossible not to notice their SMV.

I didn't read the whole post as MBTI feels like horoscope to me. But the advices you added at the end are solid.

You filter women by their income for date? How does that even work? Firstly, 100k means very different thing in two different part of the country. And secondly why'd any girl tell you their yearly income even before going to a date?
