I’m sure dating apps are full of craziness - with many of the users bots especially - and considering that about half of women in their twenties have ever used a dating site/app and even fewer using one recently or in any serious manner - I’m not sure Tinder can be extrapolated to female nature as whole. It seems to be mainly bots.

If women are so awful, why is there an entire manosphere set up to help men get them? Seems like you would get some cats of your own and go on your way if women were really that awful. Even the MGTOWs don’t actually go their own way.

But 80% of men aren’t celibate. You’re using the TRP number, not the actual one.

The men also are failing to do needed work in many cases. I don’t think it’s accurate or helpful to paint “man good woman bad” on this situation.

Yet the majority of men in their twenties are in a relationship.

Almost as many young women are sexless as young men.

Well at least we agree that a lot of tasks have been left out of this study. Also almost one out of five people are providing elder care so it’s quite significant in the time spent. Personally I’ve cared for my mother in law (in a prior marriage), a grandparent, and an aunt. In all cases there were male relatives who could have chipped in to help.

The first graphic says its source is the ATUS and the apendix I pointed you to says it is the lexicon for the ATUS. Right but Pew Research did this study. That was my point. Where you getting that from? They rated themselves as taking longer with every group of tasks. Or you could understand these are averages and therefore will not add up to 100% So men on average have more hours in the day? There’s clearly an issue with reporting - either men overreporting or women underreporting. The study no…

You’re being a little dishonest here. Your appendix gives examples from a different data collection set and doesn’t mention whether that was the metric used here. Also if men take longer to do everything as seen in this study, that makes them less efficient. And the fact that they report both more leisure and more work time suggests they are over-reporting or women are under-reporting because men do not have more hours in the day. Eldercare (including of in laws) is mainly done by women while th…

I don’t see cooking listed under housework. Where did you see that? Did this survey go by people’s own counts? That explains it all. My ex husband thought it took 3 hours to wash breakfast dishes 😂 lf these truly are the totals of how people spend their day with no other activities then men are over-counting. More work AND more leisure doesn’t add up. Also eldercare is a very normal part of family life for many many people and it is unpaid work that women are expected to provide much more than m…

Why use a study that leaves out probably half of the work that needs done in a family? But even the study notes that while men spend more time working in the limited categories tracked, they have hours more leisure time. Clearly something isn’t being counted. If you look at their list of activities, cooking and elder care are two huge areas not included. Parenting activities that aren’t direct childcare are nowhere to be found.

You really believe that every major world organization and every educational institution are being dishonest while TRPers are not? That’s hilarious and also very sad for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 08:54 PM

You’ll dismiss any research institution that disagrees with you as feminist so there’s no use discussing further. Also, women looking after the elderly while men mainly don’t absolutely is unpaid labor. Not sure why you’d dismiss that.

An opinion piece with links to multiple studies... We aren’t talking about who earns more. We’re talking about the ridiculous claim that women routinely receive free labor from men.

Since when do women even get discounts on roofing? It’s a ludicrous claim made in bad faith. I live in the PNW where people fix their own shit or hire someone. There are videos on YouTube that anyone can follow and most women do. My data is that women perform almost twice as much unpaid labor as men.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 04:20 PM

You didn’t name one thing single men are doing for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 04:17 PM

I don’t know any guys who can fix things better than the average woman. And most younger single women aren’t homeowners so they wouldn’t need that anyway. Someone upthread was claiming women get roofing jobs for free from male friends which is just hilarious - how many men have roofing experience much less a few weeks to volunteer to replace someone else’s roof? I feel like you are vastly overestimating what men do for women and completely ignoring the higher amount that women do for men. My opi…

What are single men providing for women again? Why can’t you answer that question? Instead you’re ranting about university affirmative action like it hasn’t been illegal for decades lol or about divorce laws that are gender neutral and give the woman her fair half, both of which don’t have anything to do with this discussion. Just tell me what unpaid labor men you think men are providing for women already.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 02:18 PM
2

I’m glad we can at least acknowledge the easily observable fact that partnered men get much more unpaid help than women. What help are single women getting that single men aren’t, above and beyond the help they give others?

You clearly don’t understand what solipsism is. Maybe read a bit.

Your link doesn’t have evidence that any of those men will never be in relationships much less the majority that you claimed. It directly disproves your claim in fact. Thanks I guess? And you still can’t name what unpaid labor single men are providing for women. Telling that you can’t think of a single item.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 05:03 AM
0

That doesn’t say anything about whether a majority of men will ever be in a relationship - in fact it says the majority of them have been. Do you have evidence of your actual claim?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 04:17 AM
1

I’d love to see evidence of that. And also a list of exactly what these single men are providing in free labor for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 04:12 AM

It’s backed up by every study ever done on unpaid labor. But I know TRPers aren’t fans of evidence unless it’s studying a bunch of bots on tinder lol What unpaid labor are men supposedly offering me again?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 03:52 AM
0

I can logically deny it because study after study finds that women do more unpaid labor which is exactly what I’ve observed in my life. It’s honestly rare to see a man offer to help another person with no benefit to himself. Once again TRP expects people to ignore evidence that not only are their claims wrong, but that the very opposite is true. It’s fine and you can believe what you want but stop acting like it’s logical or anything other than solipsism and fake victimhood.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 03:23 AM

Assuming both are single is a huge assumption - most people aren’t single throughout adulthood. Women do the overwhelming majority of unpaid labor. What unpaid labor am I, a fairly average woman, getting in your opinion?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 02:05 AM
2

It doesn’t have to say all to be solipsism.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 11:35 PM
2

Yes, some people get help from others - the OP we’re commenting on touches on how many men are dependent on this help - but I’ve observed that men get help without reciprocating much much more often.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 11:35 PM
2

Do you have any evidence for most women receiving more help than most men?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 11:11 PM
2

That statement is classic solipsism
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 11:11 PM

Right, that is the fallacy. Your experience has no bearing on whether women get more free help in general. People experience the earth as being flat but it isn’t.

No as I said to you on the other post the experience is felt by more than a few people it is true. This is fallacious reasoning.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 10:11 PM

Solipsism by definition is assuming your experience is the only valid one. Which is apparently how your argument was formed.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 10:10 PM
2

The women disagreeing with you also has an experience that many others share. But other people agreeing doesn’t mean you should be considered correct - that’s actually a fallacy called the bandwagon fallacy.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 09:51 PM

She very clearly disagreed with you. The initial argument is based on personal experience rather than data. What is presented without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 09:43 PM
2

They are basing the argument on their experience without considering data or the experience of others though, correct?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 09:42 PM
2

So men who make these arguments are being solipsistic?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 09:12 PM
2

The person you called solipsistic absolutely was disagreeing with you. She used her own experience as an example while you’re using... what some guys on the Internet told you.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 09:11 PM
3

Because we don’t know anyone who has the situation you claim most women have.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 08:52 PM

Disagreeing with you isn’t solipsistic. Maybe trust women’s experience over that of men who interact with a woman once a month.

The talk about the wall among red pill types generally involves women dramatically losing their looks at a very young age (27-30) and men no longer being interested in them; while women purportedly are willing to look at other factors so men do not hit this imaginary wall.

I’ve googled a lot. It appears women get max two years of poverty level help from the US govt (out of 18 years! Yikes) and also it appears that less than half of men pay the assigned child support despite the assigned support usually being a pittance compared to the amount of money to raise a child. Women ARE taking responsibility by supporting these children. Men overwhelmingly are not. If you want to look at pure statistics, men are not taking responsibility and women are. I can google away and see that people get like two years of $600 a month max in the US since the 1990s welfare reform. And then the mom has to cover the rest. Dad pays nothing. Poor poor men, why do women not take responsibility and why do they just irresponsibly pay six figures for the kid while the super responsible men pay nothing? Men don’t even understand how biology forces women to be the most responsible party - they think men are the most responsible any time a man can’t attend a party or has to pay $100 or whatnot while women are just expected to give up everything, all the time, without the praise and sympathy that is heaped on any man who does even the smallest things for their own offspring. Our little girls are more responsible than many men will ever be and yet they complain still.

Less than half of custodial parents receive child support at all. And the average child support order is $430 - that’s for all the kids in the order combined, not per child. Women get to choose an expensive and painful medical procedure or 18 years of raising a child and paying 90% or more of their expenses. The poor poor men though, they choose between paying 10% of the child’s expenses or doing nothing at all. Poor poor men. Why don’t women take more responsibility - more than 90 or 100%?

Sure, women get pregnant and decide what to do with the pregnancy as a result. Take it up with God. And when a child is born, both parents should be responsible. Yet the gender you claim doesn’t take responsibility is the one that actually does take the responsibility. Are you even looking around? I would argue the women is taking responsibility by default. If there was a crime then she was the victim - she paid for her decisions by being raped or assaulted. She didn’t get a trial. A jury didn’t get to rule on whether sexual assault is the appropriate consequence for walking home from the library late at night. The man who assaulted her does get the jury, the benefit of the doubt, the innocent until proven. If there’s a baby then she’s taking responsibility by either going through an expe…

I don’t know any women in that situation. Not a one. And I know hundreds of women. The other explanations are probably more common because they are actually more common in reality than what you describe.

Getting an expensive medical procedure IS taking responsibility. Again in this situation, the man who is 50% responsible did nothing.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/21 02:20 AM

Yeah and the man can decide if he becomes a father too. She’s taking responsibility by raising the child and he’s refusing responsibility by not raising the child. It’s pretty cut and dry. When an unplanned pregnancy occurs, it’s usually the woman who takes responsibility while the man may or may not.

You virtually never hear a woman get to 35 and say ''I wasted my youth and beauty chasing the ego boost that comes from locking down a man who a bunch of other women wanted, and now I'm paying the piper''. In fact I don't think I've ever heard that said. Finding women who have all sorts of reasons why it's men's fault that things didn't work out for them is extremely easy. This is what we mean by not taking responsibility. You don’t hear women say that much because it’s a really uncommon situati…

Most rapes don’t happen in that circumstance. And if they do, the rapist is still at fault. What more should happen to the woman? She’s already paid for being female in public by being sexually assaulted.

I agree, the appropriate response might be to avoid having casual sex from then on with people you want to pursue for a relationship. But that’s not acceptable to the manosphere either. It’s hard to see how women could ever be acting appropriately in your playbook.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/21 01:33 AM
9

Lacking introspection is not a gendered trait though. This is a sub where men complain constantly about situations in which they would expect a female to suck it up and “take responsibility.” It’s okay to vent but if every man or woman you deal with is a certain way, there’s one common denominator and that’s you. I’ve repeatedly said here that I don’t know many men and women acting in the ways lamented here and I’m told that’s because of my social circle. But I chose that social circle.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/21 01:31 AM

But in your example, the woman is taking accountability and responsibility while the man is not. Is that really the example you want to use?

So women should just assume all men suck until the man proves otherwise?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/21 01:21 AM

I guess it depends on your perspective. I’m a positive person naturally so I come out better no matter what I am doing. It wasn’t a total wash even if he was a toxic person. I was not poisoned. My life was not ruined. I did not die. You can not compare it to poisoning without being hyperbolic and incorrect.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/21 07:26 PM

No, I would not be better and neither would he. But not making your life better =\= toxic. Panera doesn’t make my life better but it’s not toxic.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/21 07:07 PM
1

A toxic person usually doesn’t literally destroy lives. I had a really difficult divorce but I still wouldn’t say he destroyed my life.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/21 06:08 PM
1

A toxic human is easy to identify and generally won’t kill you so the analogy just doesn’t work.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/21 05:40 PM
2

Comparing humans to poison is a bad analogy from the start.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/21 05:14 PM

Neither do I. Neither do most feminists. But do you support men’s rights despite their history of violence?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/21 05:25 AM
1

Then how can you support men’s rights given that advocates have been violent in the past?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/21 04:59 AM
1

I didn’t say to overlook the violence though.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/21 04:38 AM
1

No, I said that if you stop following any ideology that has had violence among followers then you won’t be able to believe in any ideology. That’s very different from the end justifies the means.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/21 04:25 AM
1

I never said the end justifies the means. Why so many strawmen? Can’t we have an honest discussion?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/21 04:15 AM
1

It’s a strawman to say someone is playing God or trying to control everything. MRAs have been violent but clearly you don’t hold it against them because they have other purposes you support. You can extrapolate easily to see how feminists feel the same way. And I did not in any way support violence to cause political change by pointing out that almost every ideology on the planet has used violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/21 03:57 AM
1

Yikes that is quite the strawman. I do live morally and certainly know I can’t control everything. That doesn’t change that I have opinions on things like whether I should be equal to men.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/21 03:48 AM
1

The replies literally say things like “I think her claim that she's disliked because she said 'woman can be violent' is missing the point/dodging the real issue - which is that she suggested people in abusive relationships in part brought it upon themselves. A claim she deserves to be called out and criticised for.” It’s pretty clear why people criticize her. Her feelings about feminism have certainly won her acclaim as expected but don’t really have any bearing on whether I support equal rights…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/21 03:47 AM
1

I referred to the highest ranked replies on your link, not on the subreddit. Most of the replies I read said the backlash was because she said victims cause their own violence to some extent.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/21 03:06 AM

Nursing absolutely shouldn’t be considered below men - there is some stigma among more traditional types but it’s a decent paying job and men are actually preferred because they are a minority in the field. But we were talking about lower paying fields, right? Your link said men are disadvantaged in fields like cleaning. Protests can get violent but that doesn’t mean a cause is wrong or bankrupt. We’d have to abandon literally every cause and ideology if that were the bar.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/21 03:05 AM
1

Your study is from Sweden and found that men have trouble getting select low paying jobs like house cleaning. I think it is hard for men to get those jobs (like cleaning, preschool teaching etc) because they are viewed as women’s work and below men. Suspicion is heaped on men who want to do those jobs certainly - feminism didn’t create that and in fact men are becoming much more common in those professions even if there is a stigma. We can look at C-suites across the US and see mainly male faces…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/21 02:26 AM

The world has had men in power almost exclusively for millennia. It’s not a fallacy to point that out. Men have had more legal rights than women of their same race and status throughout most of human history. It’s not a fallacy to point that out.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/21 05:22 AM
1

Well I’m not sure why you linked very measured and fair responses if you’re trying to show how feminists treated her poorly. The highest upvoted comments at a feminist subreddit indeed are fair.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/21 05:20 AM
1

Yes a man who has made his living with his words clearly was silenced. Nonetheless, as we were discussing before your abrupt change in subject, equality movements are never widely liked by people in power. Feminism is no exception and the whole “they want supremacy, not equality!” argument is made by people losing supremacy in every case. I’m sure it feels scary to lose an unearned upper hand. I wouldn’t know.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/21 05:16 AM

There has never been a time yet when sizable numbers of men weren’t against feminism. You can see the same fear in dealing with racial equality movements, in movements for LGBT rights, etc.

The irony indeed. The top comment is: “I've literally never heard of her until now, but reading her wiki page it sounds like she did a lot of good things and also a lot of shitty things. Many of her views seem at best unscientific in parts and at worst actively working against some aspects of feminism. But at the same time Refuge is good and the ManKind Initiative is good. A link to an MRA instagram doesn’t really give me background. And a link to men’s rights claiming things like “Yes women need to be held accountable. But they have been free to use and abuse men, and live life lavishly without even working a job” is out of touch. This proves nothing about feminists but a lot about MRAs.

There are multiple studies on why women are cheating - I know it’s viewed as “making excuses” or whatnot but they might answer your question. Alice Walker wrote about this after interviewing female cheaters and a lot seemed to feel that their husband had become just another child while they felt starved for a real relationship. https://www.thecut.com/2017/09/why-women-cheat-esther-perel-state-of-affairs.html I’d wager a lot of cheaters of both genders feel their needs aren’t being met, although …

It’s in the study from the OP. ETA: sorry I had to leave the comment to get the link. It’s in the first paragraph. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21667234/

The mean age of that study was 27 for women and 32 for men so I doubt it included a lot of much older people - that would skew the average age a great deal.

18.5 years on average
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/21 04:51 AM

I feel like you overestimated it too. A lot of people don’t realize how rare it is to be solidly middle class in the US anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/21 04:50 AM
3

Absolutely. It’s good to look at why a relationship went a certain way but do not stay with a cheater. Even if they never do it again, you’ll always be wondering what else they’re up to and what you don’t know about. You shouldn’t be policing a partner or obsessing about what they’re doing when they’re out and it’s unavoidable with a cheater.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/21 04:34 AM
7

But they didn’t really cite the “with fewer consequences” part.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/21 04:32 AM

The article in the OP claims men are almost 5% more likely to be a cheater actually.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/21 04:31 AM

Your own link says “In general, men are more likely than women to cheat: 20% of men and 13% of women reported that they’ve had sex with someone other than their spouse while married, according to data from the recent General Social Survey(GSS).”
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/21 04:30 AM

Hyperbolic. Feminism is about gaining equal rights and opportunities. Some feminists hate men, some traditionalists do as well.

I don’t see anything in your evidence about a 8/10 threshold. Or any of the other counterintuitive numbers you claim... did you really post two trash links and then a study that doesn’t prove anything related to your point?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/21 01:02 AM

That doesn’t disprove the OP’s claim of a looks threshold at all. It doesn’t state or imply a linear relationship.

That means there was no difference between men and women (AKA that your cited study disproves your point) and doesn’t discuss my points at all. Only a minority of young women have had casual sex recently so it’s obviously not enjoyable enough to do it for most. And I’m not sure why a person would care about social acceptability on an anonymous survey lmao. It’s not the study’s fault that it doesn’t say what you wish it did.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/21 12:00 AM

Not for most women. A minority of women have orgasms in casual sex.

More because casual sex isn’t satisfying or socially acceptable for most women so the risk benefit doesn’t usually work in our favor. I know TRPers spend a lot of time fantasizing about Chad but it’s important to remember that y’all think more about him than most women.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/21 11:40 PM

Women often have a difficult time getting commitment whether you believe it or not. A ONS is not intimacy to me and I suspect a lot of women agree - most women don’t even get an orgasm from ONSs either. So both sides have a lot of people who are hurting for intimacy and sexual fulfillment and need to put in effort to get these.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/21 06:44 PM

It’s harder for men to get casual sex because so many women aren’t inherently interested in it and many men are. It’s harder for women to get commitment because so many men aren’t inherently interested in it and many women are. Both genders look at the other and see that the other has easier access to what they want. No use getting mad about supply and demand.

They don’t understand that to a female racist, being a Nazi is part of status, and that women with high levels of criminality are attracted to men who are the same. /r/PurplePillDebate12/05/21 05:59 PM

Not really; I’ve been told women in their 30s can’t even get a ONS. The idea is clearly a cope as women in their 30s seem to be pretty successful. But I don’t know what to make of a group of men who repeatedly tell me how picky they are now telling me that they actually have no standards at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/21 09:51 PM

I certainly don’t believe in any wall as I’ve not witnessed this phenomenon but it is a very common red pill belief, that men all want youth and pretty much nothing else. It’s weird to read 40 year old men saying they won’t date a woman their age and that all men want a teenager and won’t date over 30, then to read the same “side” say men aren’t picky lol

An academic paper is not an opinion piece even if it proves you wrong. Your one source was indeed from a feminist but it supported my argument rather than yours. The rest is a bunch of twitter nonsense that isn’t really representative of any movement. We do need to adhere to the same rules. Real citations for claims, not “this exists so it represents feminism.” Reliable sources instead of twitter hashtags. But I know MRAs generally can’t do that because real evidence doesn’t support their claims…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 05:30 PM

I provided academic and mainstream magazine sources. In what world is that a feminist source?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 05:00 PM

Oh, we’ve reached the part where you admit that any legitimate source will be too feminist for you 😂. Predictable. So now I’ve provided evidence to back up my claim, you’ve provided evidence to back up my claim, and nothing seems to actually back up your own claims. Killallwomen is a hashtag used on Twitter right now, often not in the ironic manner that kill all men is generally used. Nothing is happening to the people who use it that I can see. What does this prove?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 04:24 PM
1

It’s obvious that you don’t really understand what people mean when they talk about the patriarchy. And your hashtag appears to be ironic. Fun indeed. What does that prove? As for AWALT, it’s discussed in this scholarly work on MGTOWs and called a central tenet of red pill ideology.

The author of that article is clear that men shouldn’t be hated as a group, as my quote illustrates. As for the book you cite, you do know that it was almost banned by the ministry of gender equality in the country where it was written? Clearly not a lot of mainstream feminist support, eh? But even so, maybe you should read an article about it that isn’t written by MRAs - the author says she hates patriarchy and violence against women, not all men. Far cry from AWALT, isn’t it? It’s probably the…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 06:50 AM

I quoted the part of the article where the author literally says you can’t blame all men. Apparently that is starting a gender war or some nonsense. 😂 But have a nice evening.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 05:13 AM
1

Why do MRAs think asking for a citation means one is arguing in bad faith? I guess you just can’t be anti feminist if you care about evidence. You said feminists frame all men as evil, in those words, and supplied an article saying the opposite as evidence. It’s comical.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 04:54 AM
1

It would be inappropriate to say that in some contexts but feminist subs generally acknowledge that all men are not any certain way.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 04:22 AM
1

You proved it by posting an article by a feminist saying it’s not okay to hate all men? LOL!
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 04:19 AM
1

Well, your link backs up one of my claims for me - that mainstream feminists aren’t starting some gender war and don’t think all men are a certain way. Thanks for that! Maybe you could try finding something that proves what you are saying instead of proving what I’m saying next time. As for AWALT, you really need proof that’s a thing in the manosphere? If feminism was a hateful supremacy cult then it would be easy to prove, and apparently it’s hard for you to find a single link supporting it.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 03:21 AM
1

You made the claim, you have the burden of evidence. However your link illustrates one of my points beautifully, that feminists don’t generally think we should blame all individual men. PS - it’s not grasping at straws to read and comprehend the article
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 12:27 AM
2

Are we talking about the movement of millions or what random people on Twitter say? Do you have evidence that these are mainstream in feminism? I was the head of a feminist club at a large state university and no one seriously said any of that. I took multiple gender studies and feminist leaning classes and no one seriously said that.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/21 11:16 PM

Your link has an ironic title and literal paragraphs on why it’s not okay to hate or blame all men. But, of course, the criticisms of this blanket condemnation of men — from transnational feminists who decry such glib universalism to U.S. women of color who demand an intersectional perspective — are mostly on the mark. These critics rightly insist on an analysis of male power as institutional, not narrowly personal or individual or biologically based in male bodies. Any evidence of your own poin…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/21 11:11 PM

That doesn’t mean you can make any claim and have it taken seriously without some form of evidence; even if that’s acceptable in the manosphere, it’s not an acceptable standard in general. If feminists started gender wars, there would be ample evidence. If they claimed all men are a certain way en masse the way MRAs and TRP claim AWALT, there would be evidence.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/21 10:11 PM
2

I can’t prove that feminists don’t do a particular thing because it’s impossible to prove a negative. However you made a claim that they have done certain things so surely you have evidence of that.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/21 09:46 PM
1

I would love to see evidence of your claims.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/21 06:54 PM

In 40+ years of feminism, I have never seen all men framed as evil nor everything framed as a gender war by the movement. I have definitely seen the manosphere frame all women as evil though.

The difference between Facebook and Tinder should be self explanatory.

As your own link notes, meeting online is the most common - not online dating sites and apps.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/21 12:59 AM
2

I have seen no evidence in your links that shorter men are filtered out though, just that there’s a preference. Also online dating isn’t representative of dating as a whole - less than half of women in their twenties have ever been on an online dating site. People are indeed meeting online but it’s more through Instagram, TikTok, mutual Facebook friends, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/21 02:05 PM

I’m sure women prefer height the same way men prefer certain body shapes - it doesn’t mean they prefer that above all other things. And a fraction of people, even young people, are on online dating so even that is a very context specific preference. Your own link notes these is a lot more to attraction than height even among people who prefer it.

Women do care about height as your link suggests but that link does not address whether they care more about height than hygiene, personality, etc which is what we’re discussing. Better luck next time!

I guess your family and yard are different - when I did my own yard work on a normal suburban lot it took 15 minutes for me or a teen to mow it. I did notice a lot of guys in my neighborhood took all day but it’s a hobby at that point. As a child, my whole family went out to do fall and spring clean up. That’s how it’s been as an adult as well. Meanwhile cooking and cleaning will take 10-20 hours a week. And no amount of yard work will even that out. Men who want to pretend mowing a lawn is a su…

It takes fifteen minutes to mow the average lawn. It needs to be done once a week. Fifteen minutes a week. 20 minutes a week if you’re taking out the trash too. I maintain my own car. It takes 15 minutes every three months or so. Maybe a lot of chefs are men - then why are women disproportionately in charge of cooking and cleaning in actual homes? Making dinner takes a half hour each night at the least. Then there’s at least a half hour cleaning each night if you don’t have children. More if you…

If they are on SSI, they never in life have to pay it. There’s no framing needed. It might be insane but it’s the law.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/21 11:31 PM
1

So just to get this straight: you’re worried not about the person on SSI but rather worried that they might own a house (despite not having a job most of their life) that their ex wife who paid for the children’s lifelong care might get after their death? You really think a person is disadvantaged if someone collects on a debt after their death?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/21 10:12 AM

And yet you pay zero if you’re disabled.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/21 10:09 AM

When men have to let the kid use their body, they have a choice. They can refuse their own blood and bone marrow etc. Yes it’s unfair that women need to use their bodies to support a child so often - unfair to the woman. When a child needs a man’s body then the man does have a choice. Once the child needs mere cash then the noncustodial parent pays less than half and the custodial parent pays the rest.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/21 10:07 AM
1

Do the women force them to have sex and create a child? Or is that a choice?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/21 07:27 AM
1

Why can’t men choose as well? Why can’t they be responsible or accountable?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/21 07:24 AM
1

You can’t get SSI if you have substantial assets. I’m really curious about this imaginary inheritance, and the federal government would be as well. As a taxpayer, if I’m paying for your disability AND supporting your children, I’d wonder why I’m paying all of that while you accumulate assets. The parent who actually paid for the children’s costs also has a right to wonder.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/21 07:24 AM
1

So when the impoverished disabled person dies, the people who would have inherited the imaginary estate are also the ones owed child support. AKA no one ever actually has to pay child support. Meanwhile disabled parents who have custody need to figure it out or be charged with neglect.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/21 06:16 AM
1

That’s right. Child support will accrue but never have to actually be paid. Which means... no child support has to be paid. AKA you get out of child support. Unless you think imaginary money pays school fees and groceries.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/21 05:58 AM
1

Yes, if you are a custodial parent and become disabled, you are still responsible for your child. If you are a noncustodial parent who becomes disabled and gets SSI, you are not. Because there’s no way to ever collect that money. If you are a noncustodial parent who gets SSDI, you are. However SSDI recipients get extra money for each child they are financially responsible for which will generally cover this. Accrued child support that is never paid is... never paid. This is incredibly simple, ye…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/21 05:52 AM

It sounds like you believe you know more about the data than the study authors, given that you are making conclusions that they don’t even hint at. Why is that? Is there a reason other than you really wanting it to be true and having no evidence?

Yes but meeting through friends is not the only way to meet people online. Why do you write these huge paragraphs? It doesn’t make you less wrong. The study says it does not refer only to OLD. You made that up. Period. In reality, using actual evidence, only 30% of Americans have ever used OLD. Ever. and 12% have ever been in a relationship that started with online dating.

I didn’t just see the bolded text; I read it. I’d suggest you do the same. It says in multiple areas of this study that “meeting online” includes all “computer mediated communication” and not just OLD. It does not say they controlled for meeting online through areas other than OLD but rather that these meetings were included as “meeting online.” Next time read the study…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/04/21 11:04 AM

Yes. As you’ve bolded, “meeting online” has risen, which the authors explicitly say includes meeting on sites such as Facebook and as your quote explicitly says is being compared to meeting in bars or restaurants etc. Meeting online in this study includes meeting in social media as you’ve thoughtfully put in bold. Thank you for illustrating exactly what I said. By the way, you should look up what “controlling for that” means.

That’s definitely what I would consider low value! Those kinds of people seem to seek each out. Surely you believe there are low value women outside of behavioral issues though? I think that’s what the OP refers to. Personally I feel like low value women are ignored by some, mocked by others, and generally struggle. You actually can’t handle an unwanted pregnancy in either of those ways. Abstinence and birth control will not make you unpregnant once you are pregnant and thus are not answers to an existing unwanted pregnancy. And yes, embryos by definition use a woman’s body. Fun fact: did you know a parent can’t be forced to donate blood for their own child? Don’t need to cite common knowledge or basic logical deduction from axiom. Please show evidence of your basic logical deduction then, preferably in a standard syllogism form. /r/PurplePillDebate22/03/21 06:41 PM

Melanoma has human DNA different from its host and is a distinct life that depends on its host to thrive. The fact that an embryo might someday be a human individual is irrelevant to its status at the time of the abortion. A melanoma meets all of the semantic tests you claim as well as an embryo does.

Yes, pointing out strawman fallacies is one of the diagnostic criteria for bipolar disorder /s. Or maybe you think that “generally” does not soften an absolutism? I’m not afraid of men, just pointing out that male entitlement is pervasive and dangerous.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/21 06:14 PM

What does that have to do with this discussion about male entitlement?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/21 06:12 PM

Lie detectors are established to be unreliable, while self reporting is not.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/21 06:12 PM

It’s interesting you’re using a self reported poll to attempt to show that self reported polls aren’t valid. Your link doesn’t say that btw; in fact it relies on the assumption that self reported polls will be more accurate than what people generally tell others.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/21 05:46 PM

I didn’t claim any absolute truth so arguing with that is a strawman fallacy. I said it is absolutely true that they “generally” which is not claiming that all are a certain way.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/21 05:44 PM

I said they don’t generally which is absolutely true. And, yes, murders due to male entitlement are discussed in the OP. She quoted that comment and discusses it and now I’m discussing it. You’re free to not discuss it of course.

The OP that we are discussing talks about murder.

And therefore female entitlement is not a public health concern the way male entitlement is; not “same thing” at all.

People do lie, but I see no reason to assume they’re all lying in the same trend so as to influence all surveys in the exact same way. Assumptions like this are basically confirmation bias. And if you have an issue with self reporting then it’s on you to propose an alternative.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/21 05:23 PM

I’m a woman and don’t really meet a lot of women who think this way, also have yet to hear of a mass murder related to that thinking. So, yes, comparatively insignificant except maybe in some select circles.

FDS is definitely the female version of TRP but it is very small and insignificant compared to the manosphere as well as high profile murderers who profess their motivation to be a lack of available vagina.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/21 05:14 PM

What alternative to self reporting do you suggest? Where is the evidence that people lie? And I don’t mean lie detectors which are so inaccurate that they can’t be used in courts to prove someone is lying.

Evidence? It’s amazing to watch TRPers melt down when asked for it. We’re probably at what, 20?, comments attempting to not give any back up for your claims. You’ve already claimed, laughably, that asking for evidence is all manner of fallacies. I’d suggest you look up what a strawman fallacy is. It’s okay, we both know you don’t have evidence and that your claims were not true. Never mind.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/21 12:42 AM

Or you could have just answered when you made the claim and I asked for evidence. I see there’s still no evidence posted lol Pro tip for the future, when someone asks for evidence of your claims they specifically want evidence of your specific claims and not complaining about how it’s a fallacy to ask for it because your claims aren’t specific enough.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/21 04:26 PM
1

The claims I originally asked for evidence of were that there were more women than men historically in the ruling classes in almost all nations and that low value women have had a legal advantage over low value men in “pretty much all” nations. If those are too broad then consider that before you make the claims. I can’t narrow your claims for you.

I’m literally asking for evidence, repeatedly. Is there any?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/21 12:43 AM

Asking for evidence is not a fallacy. It’s also not an apex fallacy to point out that men were and are in charge if there’s no evidence that women overall had more power and privilege than men.

I’d love to see evidence that there were more elite and powerful women than men in western society traditionally. That’s not a fallacy. I’d also like to see evidence that low value women had more opportunity and access to power than low value men traditionally. All evidence I can find directly contradicts your assserions. Or is it a fallacy to ask for that? It’s kind of adorable that you would claim women play victim Olympics in a thread where men are… Playing victim.

In what nation have women historically been a larger part of the upper or governing classes than men? In what nation have lower value women traditionally had a legal advantage over lower value men? My point is that historic Western society with only men in charge determined that women should give up all aspiration to deal with the homefront. We still have a great deal of this attitude. It’s not overall helpful for women. It also hurts some men. I don’t see how women are to blame for this. I didn’t say or imply anything about atonement. That was your own invention. The OP discusses preschool teachers and similar jobs that generally don’t require college degrees. Most women who supposedly are working a shitty job so they can live their dreams (per the OP) are women who have no other options. So the fact that most people do not have degrees and often have very few choices is highly relevant here.

I don’t know what country you are in, but in the US almost all high paying jobs are traditionally societally reserved for men. Women still are guided away from them. Sure, the US encourages women to stay at home with children which will skew numbers among the child-bearing and beyond, but that has nothing to do with whether single women are marrying a man who is lower or higher class/income. In Belgium, people marry roughly the same income and female homogamy is the second most common mating style. We’re definitely trending toward women marrying their equal or even down a bit due to feminism.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/21 11:52 PM

Things have changed since the 50s. Female hypogamy is more common than hypergamy in the most developed nations and even the US is catching up.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/21 03:46 PM
0

Right and the statistics show that they marry their economic equal or even marry down. Again, feelings (preferences) are not as important as actions to me whereas feelings seem to be more important to you. That’s cool, we can disagree. If you define hypergamy as “preferring a man who makes more even if you marry a man who makes the same or less”.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/21 05:15 AM
0

Right, you did cite that all other things being equal, women preference a higher earner. I believe that. But this isn’t what hypergamy means, is it? Women are following a pattern of homogamy first and then hypogamy - marrying down - is as common as or more common then hypergamy, depending on how feminist your society is. I feel like actions supersede wishes; and women’s actions are the opposite of the RP theory of hypergamy. It’s not ignoring evidence to cite evidence of actual actions.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/21 05:07 AM
0

Right. So hypergamy only happens in a small number of women. It’s not common. I think most people, all other things being equal, would choose a more attractive or wealthier mate but in reality, most women don’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/21 03:08 AM

I wonder how old those studies are. Recent ones show that women marry down economically more than they marry up.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/21 07:51 PM

That doesn’t really make sense to me - I know a lot of women who are the most desirable partner in the relationship and certainly we all know or know of women who are dating men who are absolute trash. Further, in more feminist countries women are marrying at or below their level more than they’re marrying above it.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/21 04:15 AM

Wow, that’s a lot of rant. Let’s keep this less emotional if possible. Do you agree that being an alpha vs. a beta is about more than facial features in TRP? And again, I’m not doing a statistical analysis for someone else’s study just because it would amuse you to make me do one. It’s not reasonable to request that and suggests you aren’t arguing in good faith. Do you agree that 38 people is too low to extrapolate to the rest of humanity?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/21 06:45 PM

Because a child who is needier will need both parents and a more carefully. Interestestingly, parents who are not married are more likely to get married before the baby is born when it is a boy. Something about boys makes parents act more committed to each other. I doubt it is the daughter’s behavior as the trend is present even before she is born.

Your study doesn’t show that women have a short or long term preference for alphas or betas. It shows that women have a slight difference in the facial structure they find most attractive according to their menstrual cycle. The men in the pictures shown were not characterized as alphas or betas; their income was not divulged; their “game” or lack thereof was not a factor. It literally has nothing to do with AF/BB. Yes, but women being attracted to more masculine faces at certain times of the month doesn’t support a dual mating strategy. It has nothing to do with mating strategies. It’s just not reasonable to make that leap. This is what I mean by TRP citing studies that don’t support their claims. /r/PurplePillDebate07/02/21 05:42 AM

Those studies don’t support the AF/BB mating strategy though. And even if they did, they are very small - one has 38 participants. If you know anything about science then you know you can’t extrapolate 38 people to the entire population. So you’ve done a great job of showing how TRP uses studies - very small studies that aren’t valid for extrapolation to the population, and even then don’t support your claims.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/21 05:41 AM

I’ve read a lot of them and found the issues I discussed before - haven’t really seen much in the form of scientific evidence for TRP despite reading for years now.

I’ve never seen a single study posted on the red pill that was significant and actually backed up a red pill claim - although I’ve seen a lot of claims of studies and also a lot of studies that are either on 12 undergrads at UT (extrapolated to all women worldwide of course) or that don’t support the claim. Granted I’m not on Reddit every day.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/21 03:31 AM

The AF-BB mating strategy and the wall as the red pill teaches them are not based in science. I haven’t seen any good science backing up that women lie more than men about sexual partners either.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/21 02:07 AM

This doesn’t support that women are harder on men that their friends are dating but rather that they are more judgmental of sexual immorality in women. And even then, incidentally, the authors rely heavily on surveys that are 50 years old. I would wager that women are more judgmental of sexual immorality in women even now but not that they’re routinely trashing an otherwise decent boyfriend.

If you’re respectful and honest about your intentions then you aren’t playing anyone. I would guess the women who say that want something from you that you aren’t willing to give, and they’re just being nasty like many people are when they don’t get their way.

“All the women”? Less than half of American women have ever used dating apps so it’s unlikely/impossible that all of them are using Tinder currently. Probably a smallish fraction in fact. And even those seem to be very picky about who they hook up with, something men are complaining about here. Hardly a cock carousel. Nothing in the OP had a source either; we’re all discussing what we see around us. Evidence shows that men have more median sexual partners than women suggesting that the 80/20 rule is more applicable to normal vs attractive women than average men vs Chads. That would make men the privileged ones by the OP’s metrics. We’re all arguing the logic of the OP’s assertions as he’s rejected statistics clearly.

Yeah, the OP is practically a gish gallop so I’m just addressing one part of his many unsourced claims. I doubt women actually have more access to friendships which are usually same sex - unless men are just shitty to each other and trying to blame that on women. Similarly it seems women have a harder time finding committed relationships whereas an eligible bachelor will have an easy time.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/21 11:26 PM

This is why Wikipedia isn’t considered a source. It links the same study you linked earlier that doesn’t support your assertion. Any actual proof of your claim?

This shows that lesbian women are more likely to have experienced abuse in their lifetime, not that it happened in lesbian relationships. The first group of traits are ones that you don’t usually encounter and confirm until you’ve been in some kind of relationship with a person. In addition many are kind of a baseline for being a decent human. I don’t get brownie points for being honest, no one does. Those traits alone are important for a relationship but few can tell if you really have them until later on. Therefore they won’t have a huge impact on initial attraction. If it is the one that I am talking about, which is difficult to tell when you won’t link the actual study, it is widely shared by MRA’s. The study did leave a lot of huge categories out, and never came to the conclusion that men do more work than women. The only way you can come to that conclusion is if you refuse to read the study. First you say I am blindly repeating, then you say nobody else has said what I’m saying before. Which is it LOL? Those are directly contradicting.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/20 12:31 AM
2

Yes, I believe that is the one I was talking about where approximately half of household duties and a lot of the duties related to parenthood were left out of the tally. You didn’t link the full study; MRAs never do. Because it doesn’t support what the single graph implies it does. Feel free to find a study that actually says fathers do more, when you link the study and not a single graphic of many.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/20 12:21 AM
3

I’ve never seen one showing men do more paid and unpaid labor - there was one floating around the MRA world about six months ago but it left out huge categories (I think food preparation was one of them). Several studies have found that men are happier in marriage than women.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/20 11:19 PM
6

Women tend to be less happy in relationships and to do more work in them. Men are more catered to which is why they are more satisfied. My exhusband was never asked why he doesn’t make me a hot breakfast and a packed lunch but I was often asked that - as the person who worked many more hours and earned most of our income. If the kids or home were not cared for, I was judged while he was the object of sympathy. Etc.

TRP implies terrible things about both men and women that I don’t agree with. Mainly because I don’t see what they complain about as I don’t spend my days on Tinder or in clubs. It’s not my fault your beliefs about men make men look bad and I don’t want this gender war you’re all trying to start.

Here, I’ll fix it for you: some women, less than half of whom have ever used a dating app, and the bots pretending to be women on dating apps which constitute more than half of dating app traffic, are more shallow. But you can’t really extrapolate that to women in general. Most women have literally never used a dating app. Most dating app traffic is bots. Either the wall exists and men are in actuality the most shallow of genders or the wall doesn’t exist. Which do you believe?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/20 06:13 AM

Well of course. It isn’t even possible to be right about more than half when most of your core beliefs directly contradict the other core beliefs.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/20 04:21 AM

The wall for women only exists if men are more shallow than women. Just another TRP idea that is internally inconsistent with their other ideas. If women care more about looks then they’ll be dating the youngest Chad they can and men will hit the wall much harder than women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/20 03:26 AM

TRP teaches that there’s a wall because men care only about appearance and sex appeal while women will take an older man’s career and life experience into account. That means that, according to the red pill, women are less focused on appearance.

The average individual income is under $34k. It’s possible that two average incomes or $68k is enough to pay for household expenses, savings, food, daycare, etc where you live AND for normal extras like gym and vacation AND at least $300 a month for regular cleaning help in your area - it’s totally out of the question in mine. Some western cultures don’t have strictly arranged marriages although traditionally it was the norm for families, esp the men in these families, to have the major say over who a woman married. And those are the conditions where hypergamy was born. Homogamy is the major mating style of egalitarian societies.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/12/20 03:47 PM

Female hypergamy is a feature of extremely traditional cultures whereas egalitarian ones lean more toward homogamy. So yes, the families and matchmakers do pick higher status men when possible in traditional orthodox arranged marriages.

Hypergamy does exist in more traditional societies - I learned about it in undergrad gender studies long ago. Notably, the less say a woman has in who she marries, the more hypergamous the society seems to be. Look up “the Brahmin problem” for how this played out in arranged marriages in India. However, societies where women have access to careers and education tend to be homogamous. That tells me that hypergamy is probably a social construct of societies that are oppressive to women.

Can you please stay on your former topic and provide the statistics you referenced as well as discuss how little boys are taught they are “the problem” in DV as you claimed?

You shouldn’t assume I can google and find your exact studies. I did google and I found ones that contradict you as well as ones that agree but did not have the same numbers. That’s why I asked what you are referring to. Your own link says girls are graded higher because they are better behaved and more compliant. This is a trend that will carry on in adulthood - people who are polite and compliant will be treated better at workplaces and in relationships and courtrooms. How do you suggest we ac…

I’m curious where you get your statistics as they are not consistent with the US government numbers. I’ve never heard of a little boy being taught that he is the problem in domestic violence. I have sons and they have certainly never been taught this.

Yeah, holding “feminism” responsible for bad decisions made overwhelmingly by non feminist men is indeed blaming. And hilarious. And common in the manosphere.

That’s an interesting way to walk back a solid afternoon and evening of whining about Americans needing two incomes now.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/20 08:37 AM

But then you blame feminism for the results of bad trickle down economic policy etc. Or for “changes in the SMP” when feminism is the only reason there is a SMP and not a Marriage Market Place.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/20 08:32 AM
1

I don’t think it’s a pointless discussion if you’re open to seeing feminism as something other than a scapegoat for everything you don’t like about traditional western culture. But clearly you aren’t there so... yeah.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/20 08:27 AM
1

It was brought up that feminism was causing this and I’m discussing that statement. Discussing someone else’s statement blaming feminism for our rather sad economic situation in the US is not “viewing everything as an attack on feminism.” And sure, it’s had an effect on the SMP. An overwhelmingly positive one for unmarried men.

Of course not - men were not generally as career minded either. Not sure how that would change the economy though. The fact is that women needed to make an economic contribution in most families for most of human history and that need continues, has gotten worse in our country (but not many others) for reasons that can’t honestly or fairly be blamed on feminism. It’s not hard. I think most men appreciate a woman who works hard on a career and on the household stability although certainly it isn’…

But they were working in ways that earned money or contributed to family businesses within the home. Barely more than 50% of men worked outside the home at that time. People still often worked at home, on their farm or in a home business. My great great grandmother ran a farm that brought in more income than her employed husband. Today that would be considered “labor.” A woman came in to collect her laundry every week and while that probably isn’t counted as “labor,” it certainly was working for…

Two people working has been the norm throughout most of history. Women were needed to work either at home or outside of it in ways that contributed meaningfully to the economic future of the family. SAHMs became more common after world world 2 for a few decades. However many developed nations continue to have stable wages even in inflation adjusted dollars. The US is doing particularly bad in this area for political and economic reasons that are fairly easy to identify and have nothing to do wit…

Purchasing power is what real dollars measure. The US has had an appalling dip in income in real dollars. Why do you suppose more feminist countries haven’t had that dip if it’s due to feminism?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/20 07:09 AM

Yeah, I have a hard time believing it’s any kind of major contributor to lower wages compared to the other obvious causes. Especially since wages are not going down in less traditional countries.

I have. It wouldn’t cause all of the havoc blamed on feminists even if it were universally adopted - which it hasn’t been. How does it change the way boys are raised for example?

I don’t think most people have casual sex as a habit although most have probably done it at least once. I don’t think safety is the main determinant of who gets sex but for many women it is a prerequisite.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/20 02:01 AM
1

That’s not all that you said and not the comments we are discussing. Do you want to walk back your repeated assertion that feminism is responsible for lower wages now? Women have gotten richer because until a decades ago, their ability to own property was extremely legally restricted and they were not generally allowed in most well-paying careers. Not sure what that has to do with stagnating wages. Economics are not a zero sum game.

I’m not making any claims so what would I cite? In order to claim that feminism is responsible for double the people in the workforce and that this in turn causes lower wages, you have to claim There are twice as many people in the workforce adjusted for population growth and other non-feminism factors This is the main cause of lower wages - that is, that economic policy and other factors play a much lesser role than “feminism”. I’d be interested in seeing citations for that logic since your cla…

I’ll need a citation that feminism has doubled the number of people in the workforce adjusted for population growth and for changes in the economy that lead more households to need two incomes. Why do you think other countries haven’t seen a decrease in wages similar to the United States? Is it because they have less feminism? Countries like Finland.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/11/20 08:44 PM

I don’t think I’d blame feminism for the drop in wages so much as bad economic policy.

Feminists are a minority and have almost no power yet you blame them for a wide variety of issues and even the way traditional non-feminist people have raised their children for decades. Maybe it’s time to look at who is actually to blame rather than using the scapegoat you are told to use. Or would that be too hard?

Online dating isn’t a good way to judge the population because most people aren’t using it. Only 30% of people have ever used OLD - ever - and less than half of adults 18 to 29. So OLD already encompasses a minority. Then the studies do nothing to control for bots that make up more than half of their traffic. OLD studies measure bot behavior more than female behavior because there are more bots than women actively using those sites.

The red pill has repeatedly said that NAWALTs don’t exist. My mom is a radical feminist. She broke the traditional mold in a variety of ways. Embrace feminism if you want more women like that. Traditional types made fun of my family at best and ostracized us at worst. It was too feminist and modern for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/11/20 06:49 AM

Ohhhh I see. You’re blaming the economic effects of decades of trickle down on feminists. It doesn’t make sense but whatever. Societies where women get more education tend to have homogamy and hypogamy as their marital style. The bar for men is sinking lower and it’s all feminists’ fault when men feel they don’t meet it still. Feminism didn’t create romanticism nor the idea of women as princesses. In short I’m still confused about how this is feminism’s fault.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/11/20 06:47 AM
2

I don’t think that’s obvious. Maybe among really traditional types. My mother made more than my papa for a lot of their marriage (although he eventually got tired of it and retired with a higher income). He stayed at home with us. They’re happily married decades later. They got a lot of shit from traditional types. But she’s a radical feminist so she didn’t care. Is that “hypergamy” lol
/r/PurplePillDebate24/11/20 04:18 AM

*women in societies that are traditional and where they lack autonomy over marital choices are hypergamous Fixed it for you. Hypergamy is a feature of specific traditionalist societies. Studies show that the more women have access to jobs and education, the more they become homogamous and even hypogamous. All statistics suggest that the average guy is indeed getting laid.

Most of the issues that TRP complains about don’t seem to be due to feminism. It’s really interesting to me that some want for example fairer divorce and blame feminism for.... what, the end of alimony in many areas? Men upset that they aren’t getting laid so they’re mad at... more women being sexual outside of marriage? Seriously, what exac…

Most guys getting laid don’t have any extraordinary money or status. Sure, you can get a gold digger if you have those and other women don’t want you. But the average guy is getting laid and hasn’t accomplished much. It’s weird to imply men need to put in all this labor to get a woman - that was probably more true in the past but not really so now.

the baseline physical attraction has to be there, and I think only about 25% of men truly fit this archetype - as in only about 25% of men meet this baseline. You can come to this conclusion simply by process of elimination I misread this and thought you meant I had come to that conclusion. Sorry.

I don’t think pure Alpha will create as much visceral attraction as a mix of alpha and beta traits, not for most women at least. There was a study a while back and the moderately masculine face was rated most attractive almost universally while the preference for very masculine or somewhat feminine faces varied with personality types. But also most women want a guy with groomed nails who smells good and most are turned off by certain alpha personality traits. Sure, there’s always Jersey Shore ty…

A mix of alpha traits with beta ones appears to be the most attractive to women. Clearly RP men prefer pure alpha but that doesn’t mean women do. That is partially due to the weird undercurrent of homoeroticism in TRP but that’s a discussion for another time. I’ve found women will admit when they are unhappy. It’s easy to tell without them admitting it as well, but they’ll definitely respond when I ask if something is wrong.

It’s not “the best we have” - it’s totally invalid from the standards of evidence I hold. 25% of men are alpha. And then there’s a spectrum. Most men have a lot of alpha traits. Most people do. So the idea that generally a reasonably attractive and successful woman gets a reasonably attractive and successful man who has a lot of alpha traits AND has moderate career success isn’t really crazy. It depends on whether you’re talking about a human or wolves in captivity. Even harder because humans don’t really fall into a dichotomy the way AF/BB assumes. In a human, the so-called alpha male is a man who is confident, assertive, and reasonably physically attractive. Curious what makes my prior definition flawed or why you can’t explain why it’s not Bux when an alpha earns it. I guess that’s why you’re changing the subject LOL
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 02:38 AM

I’m defining an Alpha Bux as “an alpha type who makes Bux.” If it’s Bux for an ugly guy then it’s Bux for an alpha.

Most men are not ATMs to their partner - that’s why I stated that a moderately attractive and successful woman will marry an AB. A guy who is attractive to her for reasons beyond money and yet also has a career. I’m going with the assumption that “if it’s enough to be Bux when a beta earns it, it is also Bux when a conventionally attractive male earns it.” Money doesn’t stretch further or buy more just because you’re ugly. The AF/BB may be true among extremely low quality women, which is support…

They’re attractive as a partner because of their money, supposedly. As in, they attract a mate for that reason. That’s what attractive means, that you attract people. In the case of the hypothetical BB, they attracted a mate because of that $50k. So just to be clear, $50k is “bucks” if you’re ugly and not if you’re an alpha type?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 01:39 AM

The OP is evidence that the dual mating strategy only exists in the lowest quality people and is not the norm. Median income in the US last year was $43k so it puts him well above average. And those people are getting married. According to the RP, most of those men are getting married for financial reasons alone - their income is the only thing attractive to a woman. So that income is inherently attractive. It’s “Bux.” BUT according to the same belief system, it’s NOT an attractive income, not “bux,” if the man is also attractive. Yikes.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 12:30 AM
3

$50k obviously makes a man an attractive partner if the BB thing is true and a woman will marry him just for that income. It’s above median income and in most of the country enough to survive on. And yet an attractive man who makes that isn’t an AB? LOL why the double standard? ETA: I’m really confused how this could be considered a law of human behavior when you have to exclude most of humanity right off the bat.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 12:21 AM
3

So $50k is enough to make an ugly man attractive but not enough to make an attractive man more attractive? LOL I’m not sure even you believe this.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 12:01 AM
3

So it’s a lot of money when an ugly man earns it but not an attractive one? You really think woman are like “oh he’s so hot but I only date ugly men at that price point...” Wow, so many caveats and internal contradictions are needed to make the AF/BB thing apply.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 11:50 PM
3

Wait. So you’re only an alpha bucks at over 100k but a beta bucks at 35k? That makes no sense. An attractive man making $50k is the whole package for the vast majority of attractive accomplished high quality women. Maybe you don’t think they got the whole package but they do.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 11:16 PM
3

Sure, that’s relevant if you restrict BB to men making more than 100k per year. But the red pill seems to think there is an AF/BB dichotomy with only a tiny fraction of men being AF.... which would make men earning $45k solidly in BB territory. And those men are generally marrying a match in looks and background. Overweight men can be attractive as can overweight women. They tend to marry each other in my experience although that’s probably as much to do with lifestyle as attractiveness. If you …
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 11:02 PM

It’s not rare though. Attractive people earn more. Most women marry a man who is roughly their equal; a moderately attractive, educated woman will marry the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 10:25 PM

Why do you assume it’s AF or BB? Attractive people earn more. Medium to high quality women generally marry a man with both sets of qualities because that’s their match.

There are a lot of links to similar studies in that article. For example 1 in 4 one night stands become a long term relationship . There is really no evidence for the modern existence of a dual mating strategy in humans. A lot of it is theory based on animal studies, often of animals that bear little social and cultural resemblance to humans. They assume that the choice is looks OR money when these tend to be a package with good-looking people earning much more. It’s interesting that hypergamy (…

I said genetic and/or cultural. Some people do just naturally have a bad personality or at least a personality that won’t compensate for their looks. They are unlikely to do better in their 30s than they did in their 20s. I have yet to see an online dating study that takes bots and fakes into account. So it’s a good measure of bot behavior maybe.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/20 03:31 PM

This sounds like fiction. “Old woman talks about n count and is only honest with an rando.”

I grew up in a small town (see user name) and most of my high school classmates still live there. Men might think they have this ESP but it doesn’t seem to be accurate.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/20 02:54 PM

Yeah but they are part of a broad group of marriageable professionals that are generally sought after. My MAs and nurses are mainly married with kids too. While marriage rates are lower because people are getting married later, young professionals are settling down, for the most part happily. The marriage rates also don’t account for the trend of settling down more or less permanently without the piece of paper.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/20 02:51 PM

Sure but the post is about marriageable men. Outside of religious fundamentalists, most men just don’t seem to care.

And men probably overreport so I assume the answer is 5.

I don’t know any guy who wants a virgin. Even red pillers want a girl who puts out early and is freaky in bed, which means she has some experience already.

This idea that you can tell based on behavior seems like fantasy to me. My friend who was very generous with her favor in high school and beyond is a trump supporting traditionalist who talks about Jesus all the time.

Marriage also lacks the women’s family giving permission.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/20 05:42 AM

For modern couples (modern being the last century or so) that is not the meaning of marriage. Maybe you just want a hooker but you shouldn’t assume that is what most people want nor what the institution is for.

The average woman is married in her late 20s and an increasing number of them are the main breadwinner in their household. There is zero data that suggests women in general only go after the top 20% of men.

I don’t think whoring around is the point for most people. More like establishing your adult life so you’ll be a good partner when you do settle down.

I dunno, they seem very unhappy and stressed.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/20 02:57 AM

It’s not 50/50 if you both work 40 hours a week and she comes home to twice as much housework.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/20 02:50 AM

If a partner who earns less than me is working as hard at his/her career, I think it would be wrong to expect them to do my share of the housework. No one needs to work 40 hours a week and then wash my dishes. I think hiring help such as a house cleaner with my excess income would be a good compromise if it was really hard for me to do my share.

I’d talk to the people who make them if you have questions. But we know up to half of women on tinder aren’t actually women so it would be inaccurate to assign behavior to women based on a tinder study.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/20 12:21 AM

“The study used a narrow definition of “religious giving” that does not include donations to faith-based nonprofits that provide human services.” That’s a confounding factor, isn’t it?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/20 02:57 PM

Is there data showing that women are more into criminals? Kinks are very much a product of socialization so I’d agree there are probably differences between. But this isn’t just a kink, and I’m reluctant to assign behaviors as gendered without evidence. I know a lot of men seem to be into antisocial-spectrum behaviors in women. That reality show about housewives in NJ comes to mind... women flipping tables in front of their young children and the husbands saying they find it hot. I wouldn’t say …
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/20 02:52 PM

They donate more to their own religion which is not unselfish. And the tales of people adopted into these homes as a form of conversion suggest that “good Christian homes” aren’t always so unselfish.

I don’t think women who have a lot of casual sexual are trying to be men. I also don’t think it will hurt their marriage chances with a man who has a solid self esteem. There certainly are a lot of insecure men who will not want to marry this hypothetical woman and that will narrow her pool of suitors. Men hamster away at trying to explain their double standard but none of the justifications really work.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/20 06:35 PM

Throwing away unwanted infants isn’t uncommon in any society I know of except the ones where birth control and abortion are widely available. It certainly happened in Christian cultures in the Middle Ages.

I have yet to see a study of gender bias in courts where the severity of the crime is controlled for. Do you have a link? And I agree that smacking kids should be illegal but it’s not because of women that it isn’t. Men are more likely to support it. Sexual crimes actually do cause severe bodily harm and most DV isn’t a swat on the bottom. It’s gross to minimize those crimes especially when you have to be intellectually dishonest to do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/20 02:56 AM
1

Men tend to commit more serious crimes at higher rates. Smacking a child is not a crime and paternity fraud is so rare that it’s an anomaly. On the other hand sex abuse and domestic violence cause very real bodily harm.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/20 05:03 PM

Sure, if a study suggested honestly that most rape accusations are lies then I would change my thoughts. But multiple studies show that rape has the same small rate of false accusations as every other crime so I’m interested in your stats.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/20 12:54 AM
1

Are you saying you don’t have this study?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/20 09:47 PM

Bruh, you make a lot of claims with no backing. There is zero evidence that the majority of rape claims are lies.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/20 06:07 PM

I think most people agree with this. It would be wrong to paint men as the overwhelming victims but there certainly are cases where the woman was in the wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/20 05:54 PM

Being single or marrying the most attractive woman you can... that’s a choice. Men also can refuse to settle.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/20 11:57 PM

Men can decide not to marry any woman they don’t want to. So there is no force. You understand what force means, right? It doesn’t mean “freely makes a bad choice.”
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/20 11:36 PM
4

Okay, so there is actually no force in your description. Instead of force, it’s “men freely choosing”. I guess it’s harder to play victim unless you pretend you didn’t willingly choose the situation
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/20 06:23 PM

How are market forces making men marry? How is the law making them?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/20 04:17 PM

How are they forced?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/20 04:02 PM

No one is entitled to due process in HR for any accusation for any reason. That’s a result of capitalism. Why would a rape accusation be different?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/20 09:43 PM
3

It’s misandrist to assume that men can’t be complimented without stalking. However the assumption that a woman is flirting when she treats you the way she treats literally everyone else is the reason men don’t get complimented as much.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/20 08:39 PM
6

This study isn’t about a lie about rape. No lies about rape are discussed in this study. Men do get due process in courts - they do not get it with employers because we live in a capitalist society without worker protections so there is not protection for employees regardless of the charges. Why would rape accusations be the one area where workers get protection while all other accusations are an automatic firing?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/20 08:37 PM
15

Men already have due process by law. The laws written by men. And under exaggerating your n count by maybe one partner in 2000 doesn’t mean women are lying about rape. Especially not when the results of the linked study are not even statistically significant.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/20 08:17 PM
11

Then link that one.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/20 08:15 PM
2

Why would it be risky? This is how women interact with each other and with their relatives.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/20 08:13 PM
2

So RPers claim women interact too much and then that it’s not enough? You really just want to blame women for everything rather than taking accountability and responsibility for your own happiness.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/20 08:12 PM
23

Men think women are flirting when we’re just being nice. Then they complain they don’t get enough compliments etc
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/20 06:31 AM
-1

All women who are personality disordered and attracted to drama are like that but not all women. You shouldn’t assume the narrow pool of club rats who like RPers are more than a small (and problematic) subset of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/20 04:42 PM
-2

I would argue this is only true for a small subset of women, and that these women are often not suited to a healthy relationship (hence the drama seeking). Then RP men extrapolate their experience with a personality disordered partner that they selected for to the rest of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/20 03:12 PM
3

In my experience men and women almost always end up marrying the same kind of person they were playing around with. AF/BB is a cope for low value men.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/20 07:23 AM
14

Reality: people of both genders play around a bit in university and then settle with a reasonable match in their twenties. People who don’t find a match are an aberration. Red pill men in their thirties fantasize about their female cohort hitting a wall that never comes while wondering when teen girls will finally see that 30s and 40s are a man’s prime. The teen girls never see it so the fiction on r/trp starts as a consolation prize between filing for unemployment checks. Those happily married …

I’d like to see the statistics where it’s been accounted for. And no, abortion doesn’t count. A fetus doesn’t need a man’s body or abortion would be the most common medical procedure in the US.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/20 04:28 AM
13

That’s the key. Men don’t kill their kids as often because they don’t know where they live to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/20 10:16 PM
1

My fetuses absolutely used my kidneys. They were not capable of processing their own waste until they had a functioning renal system of their own. My children now however use their own kidneys to excrete waste.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:50 AM
1

How? It has a blunt plastic cannula large enough to suck out the fetus according to your own link. How is it dismembering rather than sucking?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:49 AM
3

His link says the photo is of pieces of gestational sac. It would require a microscope to dismember an embryo in utero as they are so small.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:47 AM
1

The text below the photo says it is of a gestational sac with no fetal parts visible.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:46 AM
2

You said it for me: I am using my kidneys. Thank you.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:43 AM
2

Your link does not describe dismemberment as part of a vacuum abortion.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:43 AM
1

Thank you, this describes the procedure occurring with the fetus being evacuated by suction with no dismemberment. And below the photo it says your photo is of the gestational sac with no fetal parts visible, just as I thought.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:42 AM
2

It’s not a photo of a 7 week old fetus. And you won’t be able to provide a citation that it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:23 AM
1

That wouldn’t change the type of tissue that it is. This is not fetal tissue.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:22 AM
2

They do not use my kidneys at all now so it is very different. Men withhold sustenance all the time - and mothers then provide it. And they aren’t charged with murder or even with having an abortion because it’s not legally or morally the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:21 AM
1

I have seen 7 week fetuses and that is not what they look like. It is not what they would look like dismembered. It is a different texture and consistency of tissue.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:20 AM
2

No, it’s quite different. No one is using my kidneys except me when I make a sandwich. It would be ridiculous to suggest otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:19 AM
1

Surgical tubing absolutely accommodates tissue of half an inch. The photos you posted do not suggest otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:18 AM
1

I have seen and used those tools because they are also used to place an IUD, to perform a colposcopy, and a variety of medical procedures. In fact that looks like a standard tray for any gyn procedure except for the curettage tools to the far right which are not used in a vacuum abortion. The second photo is not of a dismembered fetus. It looks like tissue from a gestational sac.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:17 AM
2

You absolutely can legally withhold the use of your kidneys or blood to your child according to the Supreme Court. Please do not degrade pregnancy by equating it to making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. And my children did use my kidneys, heart, lungs, blood, etc when I was pregnant with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:07 AM
2

They are half an inch which is quite small enough to be suctioned.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:05 AM
2

I am using my own body to provide care for a child. They are not using my organs though.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 03:04 AM
2

No, a person who needs me for groceries is not using my kidneys.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 02:57 AM
1

A first trimester embryo is too small to be dismembered without a microscope and a specialized scalpel.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 02:55 AM
1

You absolutely have the right to withhold the use of your kidneys and blood from your daughter. The Supreme Court upholds that parents do not have to donate organs or even blood to their children.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 02:54 AM
1

Oh so they involve suctioning out a fetus that is too small to be dismembered in the first place.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 02:54 AM
2

If she uses your organs then yes, you have the right to cut her off. I get to choose who uses my kidneys. However I doubt she actually needs your liver and kidneys.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 02:53 AM
1

Surgical abortions refer generally to suction which does not involve dismemberment. The embryo is too small to be dismembered and does not have limbs that are large enough to be dismembered.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 02:23 AM
2

That’s a lot of hubris and you don’t know.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 02:22 AM
2

I’m totally consistent about it. The use of your organs should only be with your consent and you have the right to revoke that consent at any time.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 02:21 AM
1

Nope. Most abortions involve taking a pill.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 02:19 AM
1

It’s perfectly moral to cut someone off from your body even if it means their death.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 02:18 AM
1

Most abortions involve taking a pill that induces menstruation. Not sure where you’re getting this dismemberment nonsense from, unless you mean the very rare legal cases where the fetus is not viable and the woman’s health is at risk.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 02:18 AM
3

An attractive but awful woman also can get more guys than a homely one. This is not a gendered issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 01:30 AM

I’m a feminist and I work all day. Most women aren’t selling feet pics so it’s hard to imagine a decent percentage pay their rent that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 01:07 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 12:57 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate13/10/20 12:46 AM
1

Clearly you don’t read a lot of journals. Studies with interesting findings that are too small to be extrapolated to the population at large are published every day. Sure, it’s hard to find funding for a large study. That’s a universal problem in the sciences. It doesn’t change the power of a study or how broadly you can apply the findings. Why do you want a different metric applied to this particular study?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/20 02:09 AM
1

Small studies are published all the time if they have interesting data. If you read the methods, the authors had some errrrr interesting ways of compiling data - lots of logarithms that aren’t necessary for the topic. But it’s not a large or prestigious journal so that is where small studies with interesting findings that aren’t so reliable end up.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/20 01:40 AM
1

Generally a CI of 95% of higher is considered adequate. I didn’t make this up.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 11:36 PM
1

Yeah I did. You can calculate the confidence interval and it will tell you how confidently you can apply it to the population you wish to. However there is no way you’ll get a statistic applying to the entire population from a sample of 26 people because it’s just not enough. I didn’t make this up. It’s taught in high school statistics.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 11:26 PM
1

As I said, it depends on what level of confidence you want to have. Statistics are complicated. Producing reliable ones even more so. You can’t just do any study and expect us to extrapolate it to the whole population.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 10:19 PM
1

Not sure you mean by what metric?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 08:57 PM
1

Extrapolating to the whole world would require even more people - and there were significant differences between different populations. I don’t wish to read the whole study again to find the numbers needed to extrapolate to women as a whole but this ain’t it. When I do research at work on our patient population I aim for 5-10% of the population I’m looking at.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 08:32 PM
1

Based on statistical analysis. You can calculate the confidence interval to find out. 28 American women were surveyed for this study and you want to extrapolate that to 157 million American women - that’s without the sampling bias in this study and other shortcomings. That’s a hard extrapolation to sell and I doubt it would be accurate.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 07:44 PM
1

Sure, anything can happen. But this study size is objectively not adequate by statistical or scientific standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 07:05 PM
1

Generally it requires a meta analysis with tens of thousands of participants to extrapolate to the population - there’s a reason medications take so long in testing. There’s a good explanation here if you’re interested: https://www.nature.com/articles/nrn3475
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 06:31 PM
1

I don’t know if you saw the DEXA scans in this study but you absolutely cannot see facial characteristics And there are strict rules about how to extrapolate - this study is not large enough and lacks the power to extrapolate to women as a whole.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 05:29 PM
0

Women don’t generally care as much about build so it seems like this study is asking women: “all other things being relatively equal, is a high earner or a low earner more attractive?” And I’m still just not sure DEXA scans are the best way to approach this honestly. Plus it was such a small study that you couldn’t extrapolate to any group much less one as large as “women.”
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 04:38 PM
-1

Yep. “On news at 5, men are more shallow” - but is that really a belief that you want to promote? Doesn’t the red pill hold the exact opposite?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 04:29 PM
2

Yes, I do think women in general care less about build and physical characteristics.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 04:28 PM
-1

Right, I could believe that men care more about appearance/inborn characteristics and women more about accomplishments/earned characteristics in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 04:27 PM
1

Also I’m not sure DEXA scans (bone scans) are the best way to rate someone’s attractiveness.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 04:25 PM
-1

The halo effect is the one that seems most confounding in this case. Attractive people earn more so it makes sense that people would consider higher earners more attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 04:24 PM
2

This study would possibly suggest otherwise. No, when you read the full study, it really didn’t control for a lot of factors.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 04:00 PM
6

There is a free PDF here. It was very small and the methods were questionable - lots of confounding factors not controlled for. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/322128430_Different_impacts_of_resources_on_opposite_sex_ratings_of_physical_attractiveness_by_males_and_females
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 03:58 PM
0

Interesting study. It didn’t control for the fact that attractive people tend to earn more so I’m not sure we can extrapolate the data as far as the authors appear to in the discussion.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/20 03:56 PM
6

Men also shouldn’t perform sex acts they don’t want - and generally they won’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/20 07:17 PM
3

Men want a stay at home mom to further their own careers and then get mad when she gets half the marital assets. That’s “divorce rape.” When spouses agree on a plan to benefit both and then divvy the proceeds accordingly. A deal both agreed to and wanted. If you don’t want that then seek a career woman who will expect you to do half the housework and childcare. You don’t get it both ways, and it’s not “rape” when you don’t get it both ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/20 01:57 AM
3

Making someone’s lunch every day, washing their underwear, and raising their children because they want you to do this to support their career rather than seeking a career of your own absolutely entitles you to half the assets. That is the marriage that the man wanted. Men are mad a woman won’t give up their life for the husband and then walk away with nothing when he decides to bang the secretary. And that’s what divorce rape is.

This study measures the opinions of adults over 25, including older generations. I don’t know if it can be used as a representation of what young single woman want.

Divorce rape: when a woman - half of the marriage - gets half of the community assets she helped to acquire.

It’s not a branch though - it’s a separate belief that sometimes overlaps. A lot of sex positive people are not feminists.

That’s because men actively seek out women who will sell their favors and thus it is a business transaction. Pump and dump involves lying and deception, which good people don’t approve of.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/20 01:41 PM

Also I don’t hate men. I have sons, brothers, etc: men that I absolutely adore. Men are people, like women, and they come in all varieties. I wouldn’t point to my own divorce and claim all men are like that. They aren’t. And of course I’m a feminist. I work in a male dominated field and KNOW I am their equal and should be treated as such.

I don’t think one could argue it’s the experience of the overwhelming majority of planet. Being dishonest in the ways that TRP advocates isn’t self improvement. If it was all about working out and going after promotions at work, I’d be referring people to it. I really think many modern people could benefit from focusing on their own self improvement. I’ve told single friends and relatives that you have to BE a high quality partner to get and keep the same. Things like dread, negging, etc also do…

You are a health professions student, yes? As an attending I’d suggest that you shouldn’t call things objectively false unless they’re objectively false and not merely your opinion. Men who are successful definitely attract more women. Pretending to have a different personality, be more successful, etc will creep most people out and make them baseline dislike you. It’s true that there is a small subset of women who are attracted to men who unsettle them but they are usually not the type a high v…

Yeah, at the end of my marriage, my ex left it up on our shared computer, which is how I found out it existed. Let’s just say his stories were not reflective of reality. And honestly the sub reaks of the bleating of low value men with shit taste in women. High value men don’t need to play dishonest games to find a woman. For most men, TRP will kill any SMV they have.

You can say they aren’t red pill if they aren’t high value but a lot of the red pill isn’t. And we aren’t talking about just young guys. There’s a lot of old dudes over there spitting bile.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/20 11:25 PM

Most red pill men do not seem to be high achievers. I would lump them in with average guys. You don’t generally get as angry as most of them are if you have a career and other fulfilling aspects of a successful life.

Women may not be as shallow as men nor as eager to seek any warm body that doesn’t have the life experience to recognize trash, but they still care about men’s looks/attractiveness. Men in their fifties are frankly saggy and gray compared to a man in their 30s, often needing pharmaceutical help to perform minimally - and that’s if they can even take viagra with their cardiac comorbidities. There’s a reason you only rarely see a woman in her twenties with a man in his fifties, and when you do see…

No they don’t. The proportion of single men and women is fairly proportional over the decades. So yes, both genders have a small number of people struggling to find relationships. That’s just a fact. If that wasn’t true, people like Oh my. You think something is true because someone says it on YouTube?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/20 12:10 PM

They don’t though. Statistically most people date within a few years of their age. IQ in women is correlated with marrying later in life or not at all.

Outside of 10s, we all have something that detracts from our appearance. Bad teeth or bad skin are probably worse than being 5’5 for example. This is the human experience. Men are thirstier. Asking someone out is a leap that will often lead to public embarrassment and neither gender really wants to do it. Men will do it because they want sex more. When they stop, women will take over. That said, I’ve definitely asked people out. Because I wanted them and they didn’t ask me; the risk was worth the possibility of embarrassment. But women don’t usually have to ask because men are simply thirstier. When men stop inundating women with proposals, women will ask more.

He did though. Asking me why I chose my husband and why I couldn’t have known that he’d act a certain way 15 years later absolutely is robbing men of agency and accountability. Like they can’t make bad decisions if a woman doesn’t make them. Like they can’t make decisions and it’s up to women to predict how they’ll act more than a decade later. What a low view of men. You need to look up what a straw man is, BTW. Then you won’t embarrass yourself in this particular way again.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/20 07:18 AM

Sure. It’s all women’s fault when men misbehave. Per the red pill, men have no agency or accountability.

Sure, maybe men are just all good liars trying to use their wife of 15 years for money. If that’s true, the red pill is wrong. I’d prefer to think he’s just the low quality kind of guy who finds TRP attractive. I tried to support and love him through it but ultimately that kind of man will always need more. Men also only want to be sexualized by women they find attractive. Incel forums are full of speculation that certain starlets might not be good enough for the unemployed and barely palatable masses. If Jennifer Lawrence is truly a 7/10 in their eyes then I think I can see why they’re celibate.

It sounds like you have a lot of personal experience with this. The people I know who cohabitate with kids just don’t want a wedding. The inconsistencies in the manosphere are so glaring. A few days ago we had men declaring that it’s the woman’s fault if a man walks out on his children because she should have seen the red flags; today women are bad if they respond to red flags. See also “men can’t be expected to take responsibility because everything they do is because of women; also women have no agency and don’t take responsibility.”

Ugh why do MRAs think men are incapable of agency or accountability?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/20 10:18 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/20 11:25 PM

We tried it for most of mankind’s history and the result was child death. Men need to help raise their children. If the man refuses, women and children should not be the ones to pay.

This is exactly the way most women love their partners.

It’s not dishonest. It’s factual. The military is a huge portion of our spending. I’ve never seen data suggesting that women get more social security, education dollars, etc. Men get an even share of some funding and then trillions for their special hobbies.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/20 09:03 PM

So these benefits are restricted to men so that only women can access them?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/20 08:02 PM

War is absolutely a male pursuit and accounts for half of our nation’s discretionary spending. Men are more likely to be unemployed than women. I haven’t seen any data that suggests women get more federal retirement or education dollars.

Most taxes go to male pursuits like war.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/20 07:15 PM

Men hold significantly more power in society than women. That is why women are much more shamed for stepping out of gender roles than men ever are.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/20 12:22 AM

The manosphere was made to collectively band together and shame feminists. It’s hard to even think of a female equivalent.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/20 12:12 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/20 12:01 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 11:07 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 11:03 PM

That’s not by complaining. That’s by successfully lobbying and creating a market for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 11:01 PM

I see a lot of claims with no basis in reality. Tell me more how you’d be so successful if not for the evil women. And then you claim feminists and SJWs blame men for everything in a turn of irony that is just chef’s kiss

/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 10:35 PM
1

How? Are women arresting you and beating you?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 10:35 PM

Sure, we downgrade any job or role traditionally held by women. Women are breaking free but men seem determined to hold on to old roles - none but yourselves can free your minds.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 05:58 AM
-2

Women are statistically the most empathetic sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 05:57 AM
1

But in this case it’s a fair point. The OP is asking when women will singlehandedly fight against men’s preferences for men to move beyond traditional roles. It’s obvious that men will need to do that.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 05:32 AM
3

I’m not sure what you mean. Feminism wouldn’t exist if women waited for men to like it. Why are men waiting?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 05:22 AM
0

Right. When do men take personal responsibility instead of just blaming women?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 05:04 AM
0

Women didn’t wait for men to approve of them working. Why do men need women to make it happen for them?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 05:00 AM
3

Right, and the “new” roles for feminists weren’t attractive to either women or men for decades. You have to make change even if it doesn’t get you a cookie, right now at least. That’s how women’s liberation was and is happening and it’s the only way movements happen in general. You can’t wait for someone else to do it for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 04:20 AM
1

I’ve found women are harder on other women - and the more feminist they claim to be, the more they implicitly and explicitly favor men.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/20 03:55 AM

Women suffer a great of social harm by acting as feminists. In past generations they were even arrested and beaten for it. Now men are wondering why women won’t do the same for them. Take some accountability and responsibility

Men ARE the ones deciding what masculinity is. Take accountability. Feminism didn’t happen because men approved it and men shouldn’t wait for 100% female approval to make positive change.

I wouldn’t blame it on society - men seem to be the ones rejecting any new roles and clinging instead to old ones. You’re mad that women are moving forward while men choose not to.

Jeremy Meeks is a rare exception. You can’t generalize to female behavior based on a small number of women who were with him, unless you’re willing to criticize all men because of the ones who adored Karla Homolka. I don’t know of many computer programmers who want low value women... but if they really only want a wet hole then it’s easy to understand why women are turned off by them.

They might not notice when women approach them. The societal cost is higher for women who approach so they tend to be more subtle. Or it’s a woman that they’re not attracted to who approaches them so it doesn’t count to them.

A lot of your male friends see you as a friend too. It only becomes annoying to men when a woman does it. Some women really do just want to be friends. It’s always not a game.

Men definitely set the societal standards of what defines “looking good” vs “looking bad.” However I’d argue many women want to look good for reasons other than men. Most women indeed have other hobbies - they just have polished nails and eyeliner while doing it. I spend a half hour doing my hair and makeup every morning before I emerge and partake in the career, the hobbies, the family etc.

I would argue you shouldn’t ever assume you can be sexual with a stranger. It’s weird and thirsty and, yes, objectifying. Approaching can be done without being sexual. Many men just don’t know how to approach without being creepy. If you are being told by women that your approaches are creepy and objectifying then it behooves you to try something else. Or, ya know, just cry about it on the Internet.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/20 05:00 AM

I think this is really the truth. Most men and women hit a wall that is not biological but really a lack of self-care and aspiration. Most of my friends are professionals in their 30s-50s who take good care of themselves and they aren’t having any trouble in the dating or marriage markets. An ambitious and engaged person who stays active and takes care of themselves can expect to do as well in their 30s-40s as they did in their 20s. Regardless of gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/20 04:27 AM

If there was a societal structure in which a group of women controlled our economics and even forced men to marry them, I’d be okay with complaining about a matriarchy. I don’t think feminists use it casually. I think many men just don’t understand what it means.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/20 03:51 AM
1

It’s not crazy to define patriarchy as a system run by patriarchs, is it? Feminists don’t blame all men for the problems of a patriarchy.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/20 03:33 AM
1

Sure. But it also doesn’t just apply to Tinder. Ultimately, 11% of men are having casual sex with 8% of women. The rest of us are having relationships of some sort. The 80/20 rule is nonsense with no basis in science or reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/20 03:32 AM
1

I don’t go on Tinder, like most women. Women have a huge advantage on Tinder because it’s mostly thirsty men. It’s not representative of real life or relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/20 03:11 AM
1

A true patriarchy is run by patriarchs, not by the average joe. The patriarch gets 20 women by force and the rest get nothing. That’s the original patriarchy. You seem to think patriarchy means all men get to be a patriarch but this has never been true.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/20 03:08 AM
2

No. With science you have to provide evidence for a claim or it’s worth nothing. “What is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.”
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/20 03:07 AM
1

Wow, those numbers are changing quickly. Red Pillers are quick to sympathize with the 80% of men they think aren’t having casual sex while all the women are riding the cock carousel. In reality, 89% of men and 92% of women aren’t having casual sex. Oooops I guess it’s more men on that carousel.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/20 02:53 AM
1

So 80% of the women should be giving 20% of the sex by Pareto’s rule (or maybe the other way around?) which doesn’t really ring true but either way, women aren’t plants and the red pill is based on the idea that 80% of women will only give it up for 20% of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/20 02:49 AM
1

The 80/20 rule is that 80% of women are having casual sex with 20% of men. Except it’s wrong. 11% of men are having casual sex with 8% of women.

No one is worried about the draft. And men and women both have a choice as to what jobs to take. The female equivalent of blue collar work is not nearly as respected or well-paid so I don’t think that’s an advantage.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/20 01:19 AM

The 20/80 rule is that 80% of women are dating 20% of the men, a claim that is not supported by your data on date satisfaction.

About 50% are bots by most estimates. https://isi.edu/~fredmors/paperpdfs/sdm-tinder-2018.pdf And I don’t know why Tinder includes that in their data but they’ve acknowledged it.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/20 01:15 AM
1

I think the upper whatever percent of both genders have an advantage over anyone less attractive. That’s just basic reasoning. But the 20/80 rule is a little more complex than that, in less intuitive ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/20 01:14 AM

Tinder itself reports a huge number of bots and I believe them. Clearly it’s not good for your ideology but it’s clear there are a lot of bots and you can’t really base any theory of human behavior on them. Also I’m not surprised that Ashley Madison, a site dedicated to cheating on your spouse, had that skewed a gender ratio. Not representative of regular relationships.
