using sub participation rates is not convincing either way. Also the story of a history that feared women's sexuality has multiple possible explanations and isn't proof of anything. Your explanation doesn't strike me as all that plausible, frankly, but more importantly, it's all just an intuitionist approach to argument.

Homemaking is far more than dishwashing and laundry doing. It's also community making. The increases in productivity don't eliminate jobs, but rather creates space for even more jobs available to be done in the home or the community. The homemaker can spend their time cooking more interesting meals, decorating in more interesting ways, creating, building social connections, etc. That's all incredibly valuable work and many people value the ability to do that kind of work, particularly someone wh…

Maybe you should read the definition again and reflect on the meaning of the word "or". Better yet, don't rely on dictionaries for arguments.

Of course it does. More likely to use that physical strength violently is also true. I'm sorry the truth hurts. I say this as a 6'6" 250 lb man, FYI.

What's controversial about saying men are inherently more dangerous? And what about that is feminism? That's RP 101, frankly. Would you take the same precautions around a bear that you do a squirrel?

Mostly it's not possible really. I mean, I'm 6'6", 250lbs. There's no "oh he's probably harmless" about me. I can do nothing about it. I could say, dress like a woman, but then you're being weird ;-)

I recently came to the conclusion that the reason men are the target of so much worry when they are different, whereas women who are different are usually just quirky or weird, is because being "different" - not normal, weird - signifies otherness and danger. But men are inherently more dangerous than women. So, if you run across a man who seems "off", or "weird" or "doesn't fit", it's a lot scarier than if you meet a woman who is like that. So, we have stronger words to use when a man is differ…

Between friendship and sexual interaction, there is partnership, which is something else, and is the primary value we get from pairing up. Without partnership, yes, she gives sex, you give money, boom, nice soul-less transactional marriage. But partnership is worth so much more.

The main value a woman brings to the table are her youth and reproductive potential. As an older man, nope. Young people are mostly obnoxious, self-absorbed, inexperienced, naive, dull to talk to, unimaginative, predictable, etc. That applies triply in the bedroom, where older women are far more interesting. And I don't want children, so ...? Why would I want to give ALL MY RESOURCES to a woman Sounds like you're doing it wrong. Women are a burden rather than an asset. Still doing it wrong. They…

The internet creates echo chambers galore. One of those echo chambers is the gamer demographic of 10-15 year-old boys. They play for hours, talking only to the other boys that age. They watch videos of their peers playing. The worst behavior of bad language and misogynist spoutings spreads with a memetic strength that would make a religion blush. They don't even hate girls at all, they're just giggling and repeating the funny things, like they did a couple years earlier only with fart jokes. Now…

Aside from the argument I've already made that there's no definitive data to prove this, there's plenty of evidence that working longer hours decreases productivity. You're confusing work ethic/effort with productivity. We can spend time fucking around because our productivity is so high. If you factor in wasted time as time not worked, our productivity is actually through the roof. We actually have our 20-hour work weeks, but we're forced to stay at the office the other 20 hours just cause.

And most incels don't literally become 40-year-old virgins. They have some minor successes, but it doesn't change the weight of the problem on a societal scale. A lot of unpaired men cause problems. That they got some 5 years ago doesn't make that not a problem.

If guy A successfully reproduces and has 1 kid, and guy B successfully reproduces and has 80 kids, guy B is way more likely (but in no way guaranteed) to be part of the modern sample of Y chromosome variability. Exactly. Glad to finally be on the same page here.

Y Chromosome Adam wasn't having 100% of the sex in his time period Your strawmen here aren't interesting. You continue to just hand-wave away the very real disparity in the distribution of genes today. The disparity deserves explanation. You may disagree with this chosen one, but it's not a crazy explanation in any way. Lower Y variability compared to mtDNA is adequately explained by gradual drift, longer male generation time, and occasional violence. Citation? Gradual drift in particular seems …

What is possible is different from what is statistically likely overall. If in fact men procreated at the same rate as women, these large statistical differences in our genes wouldn't exist. The issue has a lot of good evidence to suggest that women procreated roughly twice as frequently as men. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85192141/2005-shriver.pdf http://www.scienceagogo.com/news/20040819224859data_trunc_sys.shtml

But you have a sex drive and sexual preferences and they aren't your choice. They derive from genes crafted by evolution to further their reproduction. The very fact you have a sex drive and that you prefer tall, dominant men, or fatty curvy healthy young women is because of reproduction.

Telling a boy to "be a man" and pointing him towards role models are different things. Only because when explicitly choosing role models we generally choose better and we choose the whole person as an example, which necessarily involves demonstrating a range of traits. When we say "be a man" we are still pointing at role models in essence (be a man [like --- is implied]), but we're calling out only a small part of what makes them a role model, which is why it is unbalancing and not generally an …

I'm somewhat inclined to agree that blue-pillers and feminists will have a hard time answering this question. "Flourishing masculinity" will involve traits they would not want to agree are "masculine" traints, and "flourishing femininity" will likewise involve traits they do not want to be saddled with as women. I do not disagree with their intuition that it creates problems to say "this is what masculinity is" and then let that lie, as it gets in the way of people who don't match up perfectly w…

inability to process negative emotions without resorting to anger It's funny you mention this. I have a young son and young daughter. For my son, his reaction to frustrating events is to get angry and physical. So we talk about not getting physical, using words to talk (or yell) about it, not withdrawing in anger, and, very importantly, not directing that anger at himself, which he is very prone to do, and instead moving on to forgiveness and resolution. For my daughter, she will tend to cry and…

It seems like a lot of boys in the recent generation are really sensitive Right, such terrible boys to be so sensitive! Here's the downside: quality women get take early, and, because they are quality, they're bonds are permanent. What's left is, to some degree, those who don't bond so well or easily. That's a two-edged sword. It can mean someone who is focused on more in life than relationships (good usually, but can also mean far too picky about everything), or it can mean the kind of woman AWALT refers to.

Completed rape isn't. Sexual assault is. Your "a bit fucked up" probably crosses line the line I'm drawing between capable of thinking well enough to avoid trouble, and not. As far as not being one drink awat from becoming a rapist, I said nearly exactly that. Did you really read my comment?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/16 10:08 PM

Again, I don't think anyone sets out with the intent to do this. Oh yes they do. Just because you're drunk you don't turn into a rapist. You turn into someone who can very easily make a mistake, and you turn into someone who is not so good at understanding the current situation. You turn into someone who is very bad at controlling impulses. Whether that will land you in hot water has more to do with the situation you're in when you get drunk, then on who you are as a person (whatever that means)…

Being black out drunk is also a problem because you don't know what YOU'LL do. You may rape. You may beg a random person to fuck you. It's no longer in your control because you chose to kill your control. I view getting that far drunk or high as always a mistake. It can't ever not be a mistake, IMO. If nothing bad happens when you do it, that's down to luck.

The attitude is fascistic. We do not live in a fascist society, that's true. Of course, trying to do that when you're not in a position of authority is not scary and and is laughable. But when you are in a position of authority, then it is scary. You won't host misogynist plays. Sounds great, however that's because in conversation you get to set up the premise that a given play is misogynist, and so we all agree it's a bad play. The definition you quoted had nothing to do with bedroom vs public. It also doesn't have to have anything to do with domination. I gave examples of objectification in both directions: male->female, female->male. No need to find the link, since it's completely irrelevant.

Then, I reiterate what I said. They'll like you plenty for saying things like "I like those", and "Give me that titty". And I'll like it when they say "I want that cock", or just grab a part of my body like it belongs to them. Haven't ever known anyone to be humiliated by that. On the contrary. Humiliated if you can't see them that way.

Unless you give me a proper example I have no idea what you talk about. Feminism doesn't interfere with harmless acts. Didn't you already express above a willingness to shut down jokes if it would help shut down racist or misogynist crimes? How else should I interpret what you said here: I believe that stopping racist and misogynist crimes is more important than your ability to reproduce racist and misogynist jokes on mainstream media.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/16 01:45 AM

Actually, they'll like you plenty, because being objectified is a ton of fun under the right circumstances. OP is talking about people who don't allow that there are ever right circumstances for it.

This such a strawman. The negative side of Political correctness is not being able to have discussions about certain topics because the whole topic gets shut down. The negative side of Political correctness is shutting down another person because they said something that rhymes with racism, sexism, homophobia or whatever, and rather than clarify, you ran away screaming about how bad they are.

For older students, that's usually fine, but for younger kids, it's utterly dependent on the parents. Which is true of all homework at those ages. Which is why it shouldn't be a requirement. If the school's plan requires parents be able and willing to implement part of the plan, it's a bad plan. For younger kids, both sides of the teaching should be done in school. Why should I have to spend time outside of school learning what they should've been able to teach me during their paid work hours? Mostly because studies show homework in grades K-4 is detrimental to even academic performance, to say nothing of life performance in general. When you're in school 7-8 hours, is more necessarily better? There are other things to be doing that feed into life and even school performance. Even beyond 5th grade and up, studies generally show the amount usually given nowadays is excessive and does not improve outcomes over more modest amounts.

The more complex the neural net to be trained, the longer it takes, the more training sets, etc. Also, the more that can go wrong, and at the same time, the greater the potential of the net. So, our brains are at the very least, something similar to a neural net, there are connections and connection weights. Male brains have more such connections (even if only because their bodies are bigger). Therefore, takes longer to train. Or "mature". Thus, one possible explanation for this phenomenon is th…

Women have a natural disadvantage in terms of their economic careers due to being the only ones who can bear children and breastfeed them. This is tacitly recognized in the US by having maternity leave but often not paternity leave. But this is unfair and unhealthy in many ways. And even so, the time out from one's career, and just the potential for a forced time out undermines many career paths to such an extent that getting caught up for many women is close to impossible. So, one can think of …

And that would not differ from the current situation in any way, nor make it worse. We have a problem in today's world where a two-parent family is almost impossibly unstable due to the erosion of extended families, and the failure of wages to keep up with cost of living thus requiring most families to have two income earners. The stress is killing our families and damaging our children. Opening up more types of contract possibilities could allow us, as a society, to find more stable arrangement…

I'm not saying it arouses you. I'm saying being sexually attracted to someone, when you get close, you get aroused, and then feel strong impulse to get more and more physically intimate because of that arousal. If you don't feel those impulses, then I think I would never interpret your actions as being attracted to me. I couldn't live with that. Sexual attraction goes beyond the desire to be given pleasure. If that were sexual attraction, then we could say most men are sexually attracted to socks and their hands. Being sexually attracted to someone is what instigates less obvious desire like wanting to touch that person. Wanting to smell them. Wanting to taste them. Wanting to be embedded in them. Wanting their juices. More more more closer! That's sexual attraction. I get the impression many people here have never really felt it. Like,…

What are the specifics about how it doesn't feel good? Are you too sensitive for direct stimulation? Seems like if you could explain it further would go a long way to helping someone understand why you don't like it, and also help them understand what sort of stimulation might work better for you.

There may be truth to that. I happen to think a lot of it is due to the faster maturation of girls between the ages of 5-10, and their inherent better social skills. Simply speaking, the girls are more aware of social issues, and more aware of approval/disapproval and the feelings of others. The boys are simply not paying attention, because they haven't gotten to that level yet. They are less aware of the social realities around them. For girls, this means they do well in school. That sex isn't as important to women is one of the core RP points, and something BP fights against. Again, it is rather proving they are right. The various reasons, tired, stressed, not in the mood, are not correct. the real reason is lack of desire for sex. One might go further and say this is why single women are often very sexual and married women stop being so. It's because sex itself was never what they really wanted. It was a tool to get commitment from a man. Once achieved, the point of s…

But the thread is about months and years of refusing sex, not one bad night. I don't think it's crazy to suggest the real reason sex isn't happening is because the woman is no longer sexually attracted to her husband, and that the prospect of sex with another man would likely snap her out of the fog of stress, poor self-care, etc. In the long run, those are all excuses, not the real reason for a dead bedroom.

Its entirely possible for a person to not know why their body doesn't respond sexually. It would be a simple thing to misattribute the cause as things like stress, low libido, age, etc. But I know several women who discovered after divorce, to their surprise, that the problem was simply their non-desire for their former partner. It's funny, because my wife stopped wanting to share finances right when we traded, and I became the SAHD and she went to work. She wasn't happy providing for me while I took care of our two children. Of course, if you're married, your finances are mixed, by law. You can't avoid that, so your position, assuming you're married, is completely irrational, and like my wife, I judge it to be simply selfishness.

The way people love their mothers, their children, and often their friends seems quite superior to the way they love the people they fuck in many many cases. Not good enough of a reason. It at best works a suggestion, but as a general rule to go by? I think there are many people who have made successful marriages by not following their hardons and tingling pussies. Picking up after yourself? That's not really a revolutionary concept. It's also a strawman, and something you clearly have some personal issues about, which aren't relevant here. -the expectations for women are still pretty traditional As are the expectations for men, and thus probably much of the pushback on doing more child-rearing tasks - because engaging in such actually does inhibit one's career. a relationship without attraction should be dissolved for the sake of both Or, we should stop forming "relationships" based on sexual attraction. Maybe the way forward is that people form relationships - friendships, partnerships, legal (ie "married) partnerships, based on complementarity, compatibility of goals, values, outlook, lifestyle, as opposed to desire to fuck. A woman who hasn't banged a bunch isn't going to be any good in bed. They know nothing - about themselves, about you. Probably the reason they haven't banged much is because sex is not so attractive to them - maybe they're a little grossed out by it, by men, by penises, by the fluids of sex, or they're one of those women who can't orgasm (and that's not fun …

It is largely about effort over the long-term, because what makes people beautiful is being health, for the most part. A woman can be thick-boned and still be gorgeous. But saggy skin, fat, lack of toned muscles to provide shape, poor skin due to bad diet, cracked lips, unhealthy mind, etc. If you go beyond putting in effort at the department store to putting in effort in life, then yes, a very large percentage of your "SMV" is controllable by effort.

I was at a store the other day. As I was walking down an aisle, there was a lady shopping, and an employee (woman). The woman employee said "that's a pretty dress" to the lady shopper as she went by. The lady was super thankful for the comment. Had I said it? That would be me the man pulling that kind of shit.

An awful lot of people think working for a living sucks. I think most of the women speaking out here have more opportunities for more interesting careers, and thus are more apt to go for that. Those that don't have those opportunities, often don't reject traditional roles. Men, for the most part, don't get to make such a choice.

But part of feminist theory is that the difference between the sexes is cultural and learned. Therefore, violent/criminal behavior isn't inherent in being cis-male, it's learned. Therefore, if we successfully transitioned to a perfect feminist society, there'd be zero differences in how males and females are raised and what they learn, and therefore criminal activity would be the same. That doesn't necessarily mean women start committing more crimes. It could mean men commit less. But, whatever …

I think those few women who have crazy high sex drives just won't find a man who can keep up. Men have physiological issues with having sex over and over again that such women just don't have. I think low birth rates are primarily a problem because of the way we run our economies and because of our overall resistance to any changes that threaten jobs. Automation is slowed due to this resistance, and we refrain from the research, development, and implementation of radical automations that are entirely within our grasp to put into effect, because they will "cost jobs", and that is a problem because we force each individual to support him/herself via a job. Also, automation would have th…

I've had a few sexual experiences since I started college (lost my virginity at 20), but the gratification has always been fleeting. Great sex doesn't just happen. It's usually quite mediocre, especially when you're just starting out. Still not the same because the fact is, you know you can get sex whenever you want. You're pain in a relationship that had bad sex is entirely valid, but it's also a very female-ish attitude about it. It wasn't that you felt rejected, unloved, it's that you saw a future of a lack of sexual pleasure. That's very significant, but not the same. The choice of getting better sex was and always is, yours. That's not something most men can say.

The main difference in the experience of different minorities, particular asians vs blacks, has been the strength of family, IMO. Asians have been able to have strong families. Black families have been destroyed, mostly by the drug war. Keeping a strong family allows the possibility of growing wealth over generations. Without that, any advance by one isn't preserved over generations. Everyone starts at square one.

I do not think Europe is doing worse - Germany, Scandinavia, Switzerland, France - these economies are not doing badly. The maternity leave stuff isn't law in the US (elsewhere, things differ), but it's a de facto truth for many American companies. The problem with a one-sided equality movement is it's too easy to see everything as a problem women deal with that must be solved on behalf of women. I certainly recognize the work feminists and humanists have to do all around the world wrt to equality in the law, but I don't generally consider myself having much say over such things as laws in Saudi Arabia. About all I can see offering is "yep", to the whole question of should feminism succeed in such places. As for as divorce and leniency, I think those are mostly not written into the laws, but rather are part of individual's biases that make up the system (judge, lawyers, even the mother/f…

actually, the constitution did define black people and their "rights", or at least, how much they counted toward a state's national representation, they simply were not defined as "men". Same pre-suffrage, women weren't defined as "men".

The only common thread between every form of feminism is the belief that men and women should share equal political and social rights Ok, what rights are not equal between the two currently? Also, what is a "social right"?

Without nuclear families, societies collapse. This has been demonstrated time and time again throughout history. Those were your words. Still awaiting any kind of citation.

But those are all reasons why the video wasn't something to get offended about. As for them saying things like 7", 10" - they clearly just had no idea, and you could tell from their drawings. As for hypocrisy, well, the spiderman and woman poses weren't really comparable, but you'd have to use your eyes and brain to see that and leave off the MGTOW bias, and so that's sort of impossible here. Also, different people got offended at those drawings vs the people that asked and answered the dick que…

No, sometimes a cigar is a cigar, and you are a moron. I don't bother with "arguments" for someone as dumb as you.

I'm using "nuclear family" in the strict definition No, but it is likely a setup that lets the man have assurances his children are his, and that's really probably what /u/kick6 means by "nuclear family". The important bit is knowing who the father is and father having responsibilities to provide for his children and not others.

Are there citations for the claim that societies without nuclear families have collapsed? I think the Iroquois Indians would be a counter example, no?

Yes, the circlejerk is strong here.

I think you can at better night vision as well. Whereas men have better day vision (not in terms of color, but in terms of motion tracking in bright daylight).

I didn't see the similar behavior from men as an example? The Spider-Woman/Man thing wasn't analogous at all, nor is a T-shirt. Also, I didn't say sex and sexism are the same thing? What?

If you took offense to the video of women drawing penises, what can I say, I think that's sad. They clearly demonstrated they love penis, and what's got you upset about that? Sexist? Guess what, sex is sexist. Only the man gets to fuck the woman with his penis, and only the woman gets to take it with her pussy. Nature of the beast.

RP does lament the loss of the social construct that led to successful marriages in the past that were much much harder to get a divorce from, and the type of women such a society produced that accepted those rules of marriage and life.

But cohabitation in most places leads to common law marriage, so maybe the jokes on the men.

You sound so much like me, from the INTP, to the agreement with a lot of red pill stuff, but also seeing just how much confirmation bias rules the day, to being called BP by RP and RP by BP, etc. I've been called "vile feminist" and an "RP misogynist" here. I pretty much begin and end my criticism of AWALT with confirmation bias. Confirmation bias is like the exponential function - humans seem completely unable to comprehend just how thoroughly they don't get it.

Why? I will be voting for her most likely. I mean, one thing women and feminists tend to want is more socialism, and that's also something I would vote for, even though I'm a guy who's fairly anti-feminist, fairly sympathetic to the ideas of MGTOW, TRP, and MRA. Personally, for me, the issues the sexes have with each other is completely orthogonal to political/economic issues like socialism. The sidebar on this sub is a joke, IMO.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
