-1	What do men mean when they say women's standards are too high When you ask about men in general and then go on to give just your example, what you are proving is anecdotal evidence. It may not represent the general perception. Your standards do not feel like they are too high but some of it does seem shallow. Having said that, have you talked to men about your standards and have they said that your standards are too high.
