I think people just have a more visceral reaction to watching women die brutal deaths. I remember when I was watching a compilation of all the fatalities from Mortal Kombat X and I noticed I was uncomfortable whenever they were done to female characters. No such reaction when it was a dude being sliced in half or having his spine ripped out his butthole. I thought I was pretty numb to that kind of stuff, but if I had that reaction I can't imagine how other more normal people might react.

It is and I'm concerned people don't realize this was posted before. It also says in the description "written and performed by:..", "this is a monologue performed at", etc. It's still a powerful piece that sends a great message, but it's important we realize that this isn't a real story.

Don't really know what to make of the article, or the issue of boobie streamers in general. Most of them do eventually get banned because they all end up pushing the revealing clothing too far. I don't know. I didn't seem as blatantly unjust once I read the article. Both sides have some horrific shit. The judge's statement that, "Asking her to remember the details is ridiculous." is a load of shit. In a he-said-she-said case, details are crucial. The judge also went on to chastise the defendant about how it was wrong for him to try and discredit her claims, but that's the whole fucking point of a trial. My initial reaction to the shirt was that is was actually poking fun at women. Considering how many hoops I see husbands jump through for mother's day, yet I rarely see the same effort from the wives for father's day. Almost like women were incapable of not making fathers day about themselves. But considering how our culture has belittled the father's contribution to child rearing, I can see how it's also offensive toward men.

I wouldn't read too much into either, but I think it should still be made clear that this was said. He is in the battle for the nomination so he is fighting for the support of the left which means politicians need to appear as politically hard-line as possible. Just like with the rhetoric from the right, when the primaries end everything will come closer to the middle.

By mandatory you mean the employer is obligated to provide employees up to 12 weeks unpaid leave, if requested? I can't see many fathers taking advantage of that. I mean, I don't have kids but I'd assume the last thing any parent wants to do after having a kid is to not have any money coming in.

Just saying that those requirements are there for a reason. If you can't pass a basic physical fitness test, you shouldn't be in the military. The issue isn't about biology or who does what. The issue is that /r/mensrights is about putting men on the same level as women on issues that favor the latter. If a woman can choose whether or not to be a mother to a fetus, that same right should be given to the father.

The problem is context. While false may be the correct word u have to consider the context of the subreddit u are posting on. When I read the title the initial meaning I took from it was that 25% of rape claims were maliciously made by an accuser who knew they were lying. THEN, upon reading it turned out that they were cases where the wrong man was accused. Thus based on this small sample size (of myself), the title, at face value, is misleading.

I admire your convictions. My problem is that I go to a large university and I would rather deal with the issues then go through the dozens of levels of adminstration to do so. Problem with that is that there is a power gap between you. You have almost nothing on her and she has the ability to sabotage your grade and likely get away with it.
