It is my understanding even if the house is in your name any equity you accrue while you are married will be half hers Alimony/maintenance is different per state/county and is different from child support. If she isnt working and doesnt plan to for quite some time with you being breadwinner opens you up for definite alimony/maintenance I would definitely get a prenup.

File for divorce, get it over with. Be picky with lawyers. Go to counseling guaranteed he or she will tell you that they do not see their clients getting back together after separation.
