After reading all these comments I have a few varying perspectives to look at this problem from. I could have done a better job of explaining me and my boyfriends issues with conflicting beliefs and views that are a direct result of each of our cultural upbringing. I appreciate you ladies help and honesty. Thank you for all your advice!

His parents divorced about 5 years ago when we were high school freshmen. Since then, his family has had a huge falling out and as the youngest and only one still at home the time he got the brunt of the anger and frustration. He just wants to leave all the drama behind where it can't follow him.

My problem is that we have such different backgrounds and that has had an influence on some of our ideals. So, we tend to clash over these issues. For example, he wants to move far away and cut his family ties. I cannot bear to think that our kids wouldn't see my parents or other family on a regular basis, like I grew up doing with my grandparents. I hope i made that a little clearer and didn't just make it more confusing. Thank you for the interest😊

He likes aspects of it eg:close family and natural separation of roles in marriage. He also dislikes other aspects eg:my unwillingness to raise our future kids in another state, and my fathers " white man has put us down " beliefs. Another issue he has is that my Hispanic idol, Sandra Cisneros, has never married or had kids and has a very "pro women" outlook.

I'll be 20 years old next month and have been with my SO For 4 years. If I could go back and tell my 15 year old self something, id say : you're not slutty, so stop trying to act like it Do not be so selfish. Don't treat your SO like just another guy friend. Try to actually look your best Develop healthy habits now And finally, let him love you as he sees fit. I made so many mistakes the year before I met my SO, and I would give anything to go back to our first year together and fix all the mist…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
