If you don’t exercise at all then super low carb diets aren’t as bad an idea as they are for athletes, but if calories are accounted for and protein is high, cutting carbs isn’t necessary. If you like it and you have no deficiencies - you’re eating your greens, in other words - then you can go for it, but it’s important to avoid making blanket statements like carbs are bad for you if you’re not an athlete.

That really isn't how it works. Get enough protein, get enough calories for your goal (weight gain or weight loss), and adjust carbs and fat based on what makes you feel and perform at your best. Both are essential. All the leanest bodybuilders and athletes on Earth are eating both carbs and fat.

I didn’t mean it’s a day of calories, I mean if you’ve been eating regular meals all day a porterhouse can be 1000 calories pretty easily and put you in excess. You do need calories, and I love a fatty steak if I haven’t eaten much. But you don’t have to limit carbs to lose weight, it’s just about calories, which I think you agree with

I mean I’m not about to write a dissertation here, but the statement “reducing calories does not equal weight loss” is false. If the calories are the same, low fat and high fat will both yield the same weight loss. As for which diet is better for controlling hunger or helping insulin sensitivity or heart disease risk, those are separate questions. And importantly, most people don’t want to track calories so there’s a lot to be said for emphasizing what’s better for hunger rather than talking abo…

That doesn’t mean if you drink coffee you’ll get fat, nor that a coffee habit will make you eat more sugar

It’s not low calorie high satiety which is what the list is for. It’s very easy for a porterhouse to put you into calorie excess

Yeah man everything affects people differently. A lot of people find soaking/fermenting oats helps them eat it but you can also just not eat oats haha

Two guys eating the same diet and same calories, the one who sleeps better will have a tiny bit less fat. But the vast majority of muscle/fat composition is calories and macronutrients and exercise. Don’t focus on whether coffee makes you fat or not

Sorry man this is wrong, reducing calories does equal weight loss. One diet might make you hungrier than another but that doesn’t change the fact that if you’re eating the same amount calories they’ll lose the same weight. How much of the weight is muscle and fat might be affected by exercise and protein/fat/carbs but again, calorie restriction always means weight loss.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
