It sounds like you don’t understand female sexual psychology and that’s fine. Men get turned on by desiring, women get turned on by being the object of desire. When I get turned on it really has nothing to do with the man.

/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/23 05:38 PM

Yeah definitely a preference. I am more of a maximizer type myself.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/23 05:14 PM

Disagree. Being attracted to “a body” is an insane way to choose a life partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/23 04:56 PM

Hell as a white collar person I agree. Sometimes I would like to take a pay cut and talk to people or do a physical job instead of staring at a screen all day. And I was going to say “not overweight” but didn’t want to offend. Why does the CFO need to hate his job? I want a man who loves being on top of his game and on top of the social pyramid.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/23 04:17 PM

That’s not how I’m wired. I would rather be with and fuck an ugly, short, high-power wealthy man who has worked and clawed his way to the top than an Abercrombie model who works bagging groceries on the side.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/23 04:15 PM

I guess I would just prefer a partner who wants to maximize their career and finances. That’s hot to me. Not to mental detriment though, if my CFO husband wanted a couple years of relaxation and we were all good financially to do that, I’d say absolutely. I don’t want to be a housewife but an ambitious guy turns me on. Agree about the garbage man thing. Let’s say any generic 50-60k job.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/23 04:13 PM

Yep. Couldn’t agree more.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/23 03:38 PM

Why do you say that?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/23 03:24 PM

Also true - something like that would be more attractive for sure
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/23 03:21 PM

I’m like a 3 bicurious. I think women are hot. Maybe this is bigoted but I guess I do tend to view bisexuals as a bit more promiscuous only because they’re down for any gender. I also probably wouldn’t date a bi man, don’t know if that’s biphobia and don’t care - not my cup of tea - I like traditional people.

Is it reasonable for a man to expect his woman to still desire him if he were a CFO when they met, but now he wants to quit the ambitious job to be a garbage man instead? I know everyone wants unconditional love. A person who says “I will love you no matter what”. And honestly I would love my man if he chose this path but I don’t know if we’d be on the same page at that point, and I think attraction would wane. Does this mean I am not a loving person? In a similar way, I think it is a woman’s ob…

I mean that relationship had been dead for months before I got the guts to actually cut it off (and it was mutual - not like I blindsided him, just neither of us sacked up to do it) so it doesn’t really feel like rebounding to me. It’s not that deep.

I would think a boyfriend should be understanding of that.

I dumped the ex. Have a date this weekend with a guy who is sexy AF. Why waste time? While the ex kind of sucked, I know I contributed to my relationship’s failure too and I will need to transparently communicate my needs. But damn some things I thought “should I really have to explicitly ask for this?” because it should be a given.

Yeah I mean to me it’s how I imagine huge boobs are for guys - cool if you get it but not worth passing someone up

Right, being broke can cause strain but it’s very clear to me now that you can have shitloads of money and still hit financial disagreements
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:05 PM

True. Me and my ex were making a combined 300k and he would get all pissy if I got an expensive cheese at the store so while I am frugal, there are other ways money problems can occur.

How many women end up with an ideal tho? None of my friends did. And yeah there are some things that are must-haves for some people, but those things don’t even cross the mind of another.

I see what you’re saying but I think you’re interpreting my comment as a lil more malicious than I meant. Honestly I am super interested in him! The height thing doesn’t matter to me at all. Tall is a bonus but not at all a requirement. I think he’s super sexy so in a way I guess I am wondering “if I’m really feelin this guy, what’s wrong with him that other women aren’t”. Not that I want some manwhore but it does make a person wonder.

Right I think he’s just been buildin his life rather than looking for a GF, which I find hot tbh. I also just stalked his instagram and he isn’t a sex crazed weirdo whose entire following list is IG models 🙏

Lol fitting username. I’ve had two long term relationships but just hit an incompatibility eventually with both. Felt kinda shitty that I “picked wrong” both times but I tell myself I’ve only had two tries at this so far.

It isn’t a red flag to me that he’s never had a girlfriend, my gut feeling is that he’s just been head-down on his career. It’s more like a yellow flashing light because you never know - it could be that he’s non-committal or for some other reason not boyfriend material. For all I know he may sleep with women left and right and never want to form something real/deeper so I am more in a place of self-protection than judgment.

I don’t understand why this guy I’m seeing is single and I hope I don’t find out some insane red flag. I don’t think he’s ever had a girlfriend but he’s looking for a relationship/ultimately marriage. He graduated summa cum laude from his grad program, super interesting and adventurous, has a solid group of male friends. I think he’s super attractive too. He’s probably about 5’7 but if other women are really passing it up over that then idk maybe the red pillers are onto something. Otherwise I’l…

Didn’t mean to sound like all in my last comment but many/most of my friends who had a slutty phase were hoping it became more, thinking if they’re good enough in bed the man will love them.

Hm that’s an interesting take! I am more traditional so to me marriage vs not has a clear diff, but I see your POV

Never met a woman who is happy with this arrangement. In fact I am going to start telling men I make $60k because they cannot handle my outearning them.

I have zero desire to sleep with men for fun. Even mega-hoes who have casual sex often are secretly doing it in hope of connection and love.

I’m annoyed when moms my age complain “I have no village” but they moved 8 hours away from family with their man. Yeah, you left your village? Lol. Who did they think would be their village.

Rereading my original comment I should clarify that I am very open to compromise on many things, but he will not compromise. Like I am the only one who bends to make him happy. He just stays doing what he wants to do to make him happy.

Well it’s always a big thing. I read all about women who dump a guy because he left his shoes by the door like it’s not at all like that.

Hm. I guess I just take a marital commitment different than dating. There are many sacrifices I’d make for a husband that I wouldn’t make for a boyfriend. I guess you don’t share that view but I don’t think it means you’re so much more mature lol. In fact, I think it’s pretty immature to do the most for a person you have no legal binding to.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/23 04:06 PM

So it’s fine if I live my life bending over backwards for a partner that wont lean over an inch for me? It’s not like that. I said “ok since we’re moving there I’d really like to live in a city-ish central area so that I feel more at home and there’s more to do and I can walk everywhere”. And he’s just like “no I need my space, I want to live in the suburbs or rural”. Like what about what I want?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/23 03:59 PM
3

Well I work remotely so that’s why everyone says “she can just move, that’s sooooOoo easy!” But my entire life, support system, and home are in the city we met where he also lived at the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/23 03:55 PM
2

Thanks. Exactly I feel like he doesn’t view me as an individual with my own wants and needs, but rather a hot chick who is generally agreeable who fits in his life the way he wants me to.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/23 03:54 PM
2

Lol you don’t know what I’m being asked to compromise though? But ok
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/23 03:53 PM
2

Yeah I agree. Agreeing to a compromise you dont fully agree with is a quick route to resentment and I think I’m there. But I didn’t consider all the implications when I agreed at first.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/23 03:53 PM
1

Yeah it feels like I am always the one “losing” on our compromises. He took a job out of state and wants me to move there once we’re engaged. And I said “ok but I wanna choose our place” and he declined, said we need to decide together (which to me sounds like he wants to veto making me happy). I’m really not a diva at all but I just want to see some evidence that he will put my needs/desires before him. The whole thing makes me feel so unappreciated. I visit him often too, and he initially aske…

Exactly how I feel - he is sacrificing nothing and pretty much getting his cake and eating it too! Taking a new job 6 months into our relationship and having me move there. I will say, I won’t move until we’re engaged so that is some commitment. But the more I think about it, moving is a bigger commitment than an engagement honestly. So I feel I am giving giving giving. He wants to do split finances while engaged too.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/23 03:48 PM
2

Yeah, we planned to get engaged/married. It feels like a marriage level commitment to move to him and sell my house and everything. But when I arrive he wants to split everything proportionally to our incomes because “we’re not married”. I see his POV but the whole thing puts us in a super weird and uncomfortable situation, for me at least. It’s like he gets everything he wants from our arrangement - I move to him, pay nearly half the bills, etc. Idk maybe I’m just not ready for all this.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/23 03:46 PM
1

I feel like he can’t compromise honestly. He wants me to move with him to a different state, I said ok, but I want to choose our apartment. To me, that would be compromise. But he says I can’t decide on that alone, we need to compromise, but I feel like my part of the compromise is moving and selling my 2.8% interest rate house …. And it’s not like I’m unreasonable and want some $6k/mo penthouse suite.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/23 03:39 PM
1

He took a job out of state (with my OK, but we had only been together for 6 months - how could I tell him no?) and wants me to move there. I don’t want to make him feel like he’s not “worth it” but frankly I don’t want to move.

Do you believe levels of compromise in a marriage should be different (more willingness) in a marriage than in a serious relationship? My boyfriend keeps telling me we need to work through stuff and compromise. But part of me is like, “you’re not my husband, why should I compromise so much before our official married life even begins?” I also do have a tendency to break up at the first issue that can’t be resolved by talking it out. So I wonder if I am being too hasty to end.

I mean, he accepted a job out of state. He asked my permission basically before interviewing or anything and I said yes, while it would be hard for me to leave my home and family, I’d figure out a way to make it work. I honestly don’t know what he would have done if I told him I wasn’t willing to move. My mom says she thinks he would have stayed and declined the job. He said there was never a doubt in his mind that we would make this work. But honestly, it feels like all the action is on me to m…

That is how I feel too. However we are “just dating”, not married, so “what’s yours is mine” doesn’t really apply.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/23 06:29 PM
1

I don’t know how it would look in a marriage. He says he wants to combine all finances and what’s his is mine. He is even open to me being a SAHM if it makes sense for our kids/family. I don’t think he would get upset over purchases I make but if he did, I would hate myself for not noping out now, I realize that. But he is generally very patient and slow to anger. Money seems to be a problem area for him and I haven’t seen what it’s like when I have full access to his money.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/23 06:27 PM
1

I just don’t know. There is no perfect man. This is his only flaw. I mean I can bring up anything to him, even criticism, and he is never defensive and never gets angry.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/23 06:19 PM
1

Doesn’t everyone do things that you hope your partner wouldn’t tell their parents? If my partner told his parents some things I’ve done, I’d be upset and assume they wouldn’t like me anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/23 05:59 PM

He views that as a non issue I guess because I make great money too. But it’s just not an energy of generosity from him.

He is very serious - we’ve looked at engagement rings and he really wants to be married. But yes I agree - I know he would marry me, I know he’d never cheat or do drugs, I know he’d never put me down. But it feels like he won’t give up one inch of his comfort to make my life easier/happier. We’ve gotten along so far because we want the same things generally, but I don’t see any willingness from him to self-sacrifice for my sake. What about when I want x and he wants y? I honestly don’t know how …

He does have hang ups about money. He grew up poor but now makes nearly $200k. We are both very frugal, but jeez.

I can get over the South America thing - I’m happy traveling elsewhere he’d prefer I guess. It just seems like a general theme that he won’t sacrifice an inch of his comfort to make me happy. Maybe that is a ridiculous story I just have in my head, I really do not know.

Yeah. I keep reading stuff about women being too picky like “who cares if he’s obsessed with cars or wears weird shoes”. But this isn’t like a superficial thing from my end, it’s little things that make me feel really uncared for. He has a lot of good qualities. He made my birthday and Christmas very special and definitely wasn’t a cheapskate on that. He loves my family and isn’t nudging me to leave like past boyfriends did. He is very generous with his time and emotions, but not with material t…

Yeah. Number 4 I can get over, I see where he is coming from on that one. The others, I really don’t know. He is working on it and has actually shown signs of change - I forgot my toothbrush on a trip with him and he tossed it in with his transaction at Dollar General lol. Number 1 I could see is maybe just a cultural thing. The others, idk. Maybe few in number enough that I should get over it?

When tiny actions add up, and you wonder if your boyfriend has a character flaw that is not conducive for marriage: When I’d come over to his house (after we were in a relationship), and leave, he wouldn’t watch to make sure I got to my car safely Declined attending some friends’ events with me, even after I told him I’d really like him to join me I was running around all day and needed a quick gift to bring to a friend’s get-together (which he declined to go to). I’ve had 3 serious relationships. Guy 1: emotionally unavailable in that he was still very much in love with his ex, couldn’t bring himself to commit to “more” Guy 2: sweet, would do anything for me, except give up marijuana and cigarettes - when we started dating, he smoked marijuana maybe at a party or something, but it became a daily habit and I ended things Guy 3: ambitious, loving and patient, but had some selfish tendencies - I moved states for him but he was intent on one particular housi…
