Nope, I'm 21 and have had no intimate relationships. Once a girl was stroking my inner thigh and flirting with me, giving me literally every single signal possible and all I could do was lock up, act like I didn't notice it, and then avoid her forever afterwards. I hate having to deal with all this shame. Im even shameful of being shameful. I don't have much advice for you now. I was on the 'up' when I replied before but now I'm feeling like shit again....excluded, ugly, stupid, incompetent, alo…

Broski, I have a full academic scholarship, I have a 3.8 GPA in the honors program in one of the hardest majors in my school (engineering), I've made $5000 off $9000 in the stock market so far in three years, I work out regularly, and a ton of other stuff and I still am lost in the woods. I hate myself, I feel toxic shame so deep and to my core that it suffocates me. I totally get what you mean by it being embarrassing. But you need to see a therapist. You need to practice receiving validation a…

Thanks, The Art of Charm looks pretty promising. Yeah, I just need to realize that it's okay and encouraged that I have needs and express them. That people won't hate or get turned off by my having them, and that people's approval is something that will come naturally, not something that I need to actively seek out constantly.

Was the book what helped you out most? Did you have to go through it several times?

Thanks for reminding me I really need to finish getting through that book. It describes me so perfectly it's almost painful to read but I gotta do it. Just curious, are you a NG too?

Learn to be proud of what you've done, and communicate it. If you can't be proud of what you've done, do something else and be proud of that. Fat, unhealthy people are still attractive to many - as long as they are full of passion and are interesting. This is my problem, I do lots of cool things but I'm really bad at communicating them. It pisses me off when people like your old roommate's brother talk shit up about themselves all the time, so I try to be humble instead...but I think I downplay …

Great answer. As someone who would NOT consider himself a hipster but only because I'm too hipster to admit to being a hipster since the idea of being a hipster has actually become too mainstream for my deep fundamental hipster-ism, your response and the article really struck a chord within me. Hipsterism has a sort of holier-than-thou, self-masturbating, look-at-me-I'm-cooler-than-you, insert-more-hyphenated-words-here element associated with it, which is the shield that hipsters often hide beh…

As someone who also suffers from impostor syndrome, this is just what my life needed right now. What a wonderful talk.

Great article, I was able to connect fully with everything. A great view on self-image, self-acceptance, and the almost philosophical absurdism of attractiveness. All humans know what we need to do to be attractive. We just need to go do it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
