| 10 | STEMThere is no way that girls are discouraged from STEM. Maybe that was true decades ago. Now it's the complete opposite. And it's a good choice for women. Companies will currently fall over themselves to hire female scientists and engineers. Where I work, given two roughly similar applications, we would hire the women, even if she's slightly worse than other male applicants.
