Wait wait wait. What's going on with Linux and the code of conduct, exactly? Do you have any article links? I've been out of the Linux game for a few years and haven't been following at all.

I taught myself to be a credit analyst for a commercial bank. I make really good money now and it's interesting most of the time. The admin work is boring as shit though.

We're over 10 years due for a market correction, and currently in the longest bull run in history. Edit: Rather, we're about 1 year over 10 years since the last correction, and they happen around every 10 years (usually 7-10) historically.

Men create life from nothing as semen is created throughout the man's life from the age of puberty until death. Think about that for a moment. For women, eggs are finite, and all women are born with the full amount which they lose slowly over their lifetime from the age of puberty until menopause. Women have only a finite amount of time to give birth and incubate life. They do not, however, create life; they birth life. Two VERY different things. Men literally have the power to create life from …

He's a musical genius. Porcupine Tree was (and still is) amazing. He had a rather tragic child hood though, which really affected him and I think that's why he chose to make music his "baby" in life. His work with Opeth was also very, very awesome. Still Life is probably one of my favorite albums of theirs. I think the thing with Steven Wilson is that he, like many other great artists, couldn't let himself get complacent with music. I hope he continues his path.

Some basic steps to get into investing: Learn about the 3-fund portfolio, and use index funds to get started. (ETF's or mutual funds are great for this. Highly recommend Vanguard). Use only tax-advantaged accounts to invest until they are max'd for the year. So that means hit your 401k until employer match, roth IRA (if you qualify) for the maximum contribution amount of $5,500 for 2018. Then max out your 401k to $18,500 with the remainder. If you STILL have leftover money after that, hit up you…

Wow her parents must have always given her everything as a kid or something. She sounds like someone who has never had to work for anything.

Two very important things to remember for the next "downturn" (whatever you want to call it). Make sure you have enough liquid cash (savings account, checking account, w/e) stashed for 6 months of expenses. Also, be sure you don't have over extended your debt capacity (auto loans, mortgage too big, etc.) When the markets drop stocks go on a HUGE sale. That's when you hold your stocks, do NOT sell, and if you have a solid, stable job then invest as much as you can. Pro tip: Watch the 10 year trea…

Look up YouTube videos of Edward Bernays. What's going on today with people (especially women) has been a long time in the making.

As someone with a Sociology degree - it's actually gotten me really far in life, the field of study is extremely fascinating (to me anyway), and the original thinker's work is intellectually challenging (it's not all Karl Marx by the way). I think you might have been confusing it with the likes of Journalism, Ethnic Studies and Women's studies (with women's certificate) - of which those are all based on far less data oriented practices of objective research.

"Diversity" is in A LOT of different industries right now. I work in banking operations at a very large national bank (I do loan underwriting), and we have to take courses on "Diversity", "Unconscious Biases", and other forms of "Inclusive" ways of thinking. It's scary. It makes me stop and think: why? What is it that they are trying to program us to accept in the work place? And make no mistake - it IS programming.

It sounds as though you have deeper issues you need to resolve within yourself that marriage (with anyone) can't/won't fix for you.

Here is how I framed it in my own situation. I'm in an LTR where we live together. Neither of us want marriage, and neither of us want children - this was established from day 1. We both have our own independent creative pursuits of our own freedom, fulfillment and happiness. My partner knows when I'm at work, I'm at work and I won't respond to texts until I'm on a break, lunch, or step away from my computer (I work in banking operations and am very busy). Another thing I required as part of a r…

I'm someone who scores very high on introversion in personality tests (both online and tests administered by professionals), and I still make it a point to go out and socialize. What I have found that works for me is to keep to my own reality, and not allow my energy to dissipate into the social environment. That is, I maintain my reality to myself, and by doing so I am able to socialize for many, many hours on a daily basis, without getting fatigued. Again, I am someone who is VERY introverted.…

Look into eating Keto (after making sure that you can physically do so by seeing a doctor!). Keto changed my life from 20-25% BF (skinny fat) to very lean, my energy improved, my body shape improved, and it made the motivation to improve my athletic shape go way up. A ketogenic diet is an amazing tool to lose your body fat, without losing your lean muscle mass. Watch this youtube called "Why we get fat" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDneyrETR2o, and use it to make positive changes to your life…
