My primary is words, secondary is gifts, while my Fiancé's primary is touch, secondary acts of service. Kind of a mismatch cause I'm not touchy-feely AT ALL, but I try to roll with it to make him happy, haha. I'm a woman, he's a man, and I'm not sure where I stand on the pills. There's some red pill stuff that makes sense, but alot of it makes me eyeroll HARD.

Why do you think I'm marrying a white man?? I want some of that shit 😂😂😂 Kidding... Mostly. 😂😂

While I totally agree that you shouldn't feel bad about yourself for being white, I do wanna say that white privilege is definitely real. I'm a (light skinned) black woman and my Fiancé is super white, blonde hair blue eyes white... I see it all the time. I get treated totally differently when I'm out by myself vs. out with him. I'm not mad about it or anything, and I don't want white people to feel bad about it. I just wish that more white people would recognize that white people and POC walk t…

Yikes. I'm always disgusted by people who give activism and feminism a bad rep. Like chill, you guys, not everything is a personal attack. The "trigger" shit bugs me too. Especially considering that the origin of the term is related to PTSD. Having flashbacks to traumatic events isn't something to make light of. I'm definitely an LGBTQ+ ally, but it bothers me to no end when nonbinary people get all huffy if you use the wrong pronoun or address them as the wrong gender BEFORE THEY EVEN TELL YOU.…

I didn't tell him I was pissed, I just declined a second date when he asked. I'm not a TOTAL bitch, jeez, lol. And hard eyeroll to the "playing with you like a child" comment.

TBH I think alot of this debate has to do with introvert vs. extrovert. Some people like talking to people, some people are willing to make a move in public, some people don't want to make a move in public and some people won't be receptive at all.

Wooould you rather her accept your offer to buy her a drink THEN get shut down and laughed at? I did that a few times (and had friends who did that) before I realized a free drink isn't worth humiliating someone.

The last time I was cold approached by a man and actually receptive to his advances (business casual attire, decent looking, seemed confident, told me he was a small business owner) he took me to fucking McDonald's for our "date". Even at 18 I was like "uuuummm... No." 😂😂 That experience may have turned me off from all cold approaches, haha. Also I watch alot of Criminal Minds, so I'm always on the lookout for serial killers. Being opposed to truly causal approaches and calling it "harassment" or "objectification" is ridiculous. However, I definitely understand not wanting to be approached by... Well... Anyone when you're just out living your life. I don't like it when random people talk to me in public, whether they're men or women.

Really this whole post is a metaphysical debate because it involves morality. There's no concrete way to measure morality.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/18 07:21 AM

The question of what constitutes a "good parent" is a metaphysical question, as it is an abstract idea. And no, being a good parent is certainly not irrelevant. Many of the things we as society care deeply about cannot be defined through scientific inquiry.

I'm aware?? I'm one of those people lmao. I'll probably be paying off my school debt for the rest of my life, man, I GET that. Idk, I don't think things like that are okay. Freedom to choose your own lifestyle is really important to me.

Wat? There's almost always another option. Also... Wat? This situation doesn't apply to my life in any way, shape or form. Also, I make it a point to not accept money or gifts from family/friends with strings attached. I'm not a fan of people having anything over me or trying to manipulate me. That's not selfish, that's self respect.

Also, I just think it's icky. It's icky, controlling and weird, and I'm SO glad my parents would never have done anything like that.

Because it's a huge overstepping of boundaries for a parent to try to control their adult children's sex lives??? Idk why this is such a foreign concept. I'm a parent. Just thinking about doing something like requesting my kids stay chaste until marriage or telling them if I find out they're sleeping around I'll cut them off financially makes me cringe so hard. It's none of my business who my future adult children (my kid's 4 now, and planning on having more) are sleeping with and how often. Non…

Who knows? There wasn't much context of that in this hypothetical situation. I read the post and didn't see any mention of that. Either way, still wrong.

Nope, definitely disagree with that. She's an adult. Good parents give their adult children freedom to choose their own paths.

Huh, tbh I didn't look at it. I just figured it was for people seeking therapy based on the name, cause that would make the most sense. In that case, yeah it was dumb of them to ban you from posting lol.

Oh yeah, Valium is a benzodiazapine(sp?) which is an incredibly addictive class of drug, and the withdrawals can kill you. Many prescribing mental health professionals are moving away from prescribing that class of drugs for that reason. I agree that medication should not be seen as a magic fix it pill. You still gotta do the work.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/18 06:10 PM

Oh I agree, but there's a time and a place. A thread where people are actively searching for therapy is not the place.

Sweetie manipulation is a form of attempting to control. My language is precise as fuck.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/18 06:05 PM
3

Also, I highly doubt that in this fictional scenario it would be proposed as much of a choice. If someone is put in a situation by someone else in which they are led to believe they do not have a say in the matter, it's manipulation and control. End of story.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/18 06:04 PM

She doesn't. I wouldn't. Her parents want her to. Thus, attempting to control her.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/18 05:58 PM

Control is involved in that the parents refuse to pay for the dream school, but will pay for second choice school, require home visits every weekend, and have cousin keep tabs on her. Did you miss that part? That's textbook financial control and manipulation.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/18 05:57 PM

Are the parents entitled to control their adult daughter? The answer to both is no. Personally, if it were me who was fake sis, I would take out loans or do whatever I needed to do to go to my dream school. Overbearing parents who think they own you are the worst and I wouldn't put up with it.

FWIW, I think your relationship is definitely salvageable. My advice, from somewhat of a similar situation, is to gently tell him what areas you would like to see him improve on, and focus on the fact that it will make HIM happier. Also, imo, sex begets sex. Not that long ago, my SO and I were only having sex once every couple weeks. Lately we've been bonking like horny teenagers and it's great. The more sex we have, the more sex I want. There's a few other factors in my scenario, but it helps t…

I don't get it? I think if the genders were reversed, people would have been just as angry about it. Parents attempting to control their adult children with money is wrong. Also, a little weird that money is the thing that changed the outlook for fake you. Essentially paying for your child's chastity is weird and fucked up. Outing your fake sister's wild behavior because fake you felt bad about the money, also weird and fucked up. The whole fake scenario is weird and fucked up. It has weird owne…

I'm not surprised. The therapy subreddit exists for people who WANT or need therapy, not for detractors. Therapy has saved lives and it would be unethical to dissuade someone who has decided to pursue it.

Let me clarify, OP, my therapist is an LMFT (liscened marriage and family therapist) and cannot prescribe. I went back to my primary care physician (who recommended I start therapy) for the prescription.

Eh, that's not how meds ~should~ be used, for depression and anxiety at least. They should be used in conjunction with making the necessary changes to your life. When my therapist recommended meds to me, she said "consider taking something just to take the edge off". I take generic Wellbutrin, which is an atypical antidepressant as it's a Norepinephrine-Dopamine Reuptake Inhibitor (NDRI), whereas the most commonly prescribed antidepressants are Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs). Th…

It depends on the therapist. My therapist is freaking amazing. She's very action-oriented, and the majority of what we talk about are steps I can take to make my life/relationship/job whatever else is bugging me better. She recommended I start an antidepressant, and although the first one I tried was god awful, the one I'm on now is fantastic and I feel better than I have ever felt. Don't hate on therapy in general, it can be IMMENSLEY helpful with the right practicioner.

Drugs are fun. Some drugs are dangerous. Let's decriminalize drugs and aim for harm reduction. If people wanna get fucked up, they're gonna find a way to do so. I've done alot of ecstasy, cocaine, marijuana, shrooms, and ketamine. Ketamine and cocaine are my favorites. MDMA was fun, but started causing intense paranoia and anxiety for me around 2016. Now, I just drink occasionally. Don't wanna deal with the legal ramifications of getting caught with drugs.

Tbh, my advice is to stop being judgmental. You mentioned that you're "tired of judging" your friends. Stop it. If you look down on your friends for their (totally normal) college girl behavior, then you aren't a very good friend, are you? They're entitled to their choices and you're entitled to yours, but the right thing to do is to not associate with them if you don't agree with their choices. Secretly judging them while smiling in their faces is incredibly ingenuine and an awful thing to do.

I personally would NEVER marry someone before living with them. All kinds of wonky stuff comes out when you live with a person. I'm getting married in August, and today is the one year anniversary of my Fiancé and I closing on our house. I'm glad to be going into my marriage with my eyes open to all the annoying (but tolerable) things my soon-to-be hubby does.

I too am in the restaurant industry, and I too am kind of sensitive, although I've toughened up substantially since exiting my teen years and being in the industry for five years. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about other people's crappy personalities and beahvior, and the restaurant industry tends to attract some crappy people (along with plenty of wonderful people). I would recommend either getting out of the industry altogether, or finding a way to not let your co-workers get to yo…

I think that most men would naturally be better at physical jobs (construction, farm work, lumberjack) than most women, and most women would naturally be better at jobs that involve caring for others (daycare provider, hospice aid). On your second question, I think a female engineer should be paid the same as an equal level male engineer. Although I do think nurses and teachers should be paid more on the whole (especially teachers), that opinion isn't because of gender, it's because those jobs a…

My ~brand~ of feminism is basic. I believe men and women should be treated equally under the law, receive equal pay for equal work, and be treated with equal respect in the workplace and at home. RP in that I believe the sexes have different strengths and want a more traditional relationship with my husband as head of household. A huge issue I have with mainstream feminism is that it tends to see SAHM as less than or oppressed when in the vast majority of cases SAHM want to stay home. Every woma…

So you're asking what if he lost RMV, essentially. Still wouldn't cheat. I would be frustrated, for sure, but would come to him with my concerns and if things didn't improve, still wouldn't cheat. I would rather divorce than cheat. Neither of which I want, clearly, but I would take the high road. My Fiancé has made it clear that cheating would be unforgivable in his eyes, and no matter how frustrated I am at him, I couldn't hurt him like that, and I couldn't live with myself if I did. 😂😂😂 I'm sorry, the word "fornication" just makes me laugh. So, assuming this hypothetical woman is of the Christian faith, wouldn't gaining God's favor by staying chaste til marriage kind of be unnecessary considering that the Christian faith teaches that God forgives human sin through repentance and that Jesus died on the cross so that all believers could get into heaven, regardless of sin? What if sexual incompatibility is something that a couple who saved themselves for marriage isn't able to…

Tbh I forgot asexualism was a thing when I wrote that lol. I was tired haha. Sure, I think it's possible to have no sex drive, but I think there's probably underlying factors like hormonal imbalance or past trauma. But hey, if said people are happy not having sex, that's their business.

I would describe myself as feminist with RPW leanings. I would say that when I was younger (16-20, now 24) I was attracted to the Chad type dudes, but never pursued/was pursued by them, and spent the years between 17-20 in serial LTRs with handsome, but not top 1% attractive guys. I was also a late bloomer as far as looks go, and still look about 16. I'm engaged now, and would not cheat on my soon to be hubs with anyone, no matter what they looked like. I kinda-sorta get the "virgin" appeal for men in a weird, twisted ownership way, but in your opinion, what exactly does a woman gain by "saving herself"? That ship sailed for me a long time ago, and I'm not married yet (engaged), so clearly I don't have an insider's perspective, but I honestly can't imagine marrying someone I've never slept with. Sexual compatibility is important in a relationship.

As a black woman, I disagree that "slut" and "whore" are on par with the N word. The N word is rooted in slavery, oppression and racism, and while sexism and slut-shaming are also bad, I personally believe racism is worse. I do, however, believe that it is wrong to judge women (and men) who like having sex with different people for that fact alone. As long as all parties are aware of and okay with non-exclusivity and are attentive to their sexual health and mental wellbeing, I have no problems w…

I'm so sorry that she did that. Dark triad personality types are the fucking WORST, and ghosting is a bitch ass way to end things. It's perfectly reasonable to be hurt by that experience. Speaking from experience though (of course I'm not a dude so it's a bit different), emotionless fucks aren't the best way to get over stuff like that. May I ask, are you a virgin? Not trying to be rude or assume, but whether or not you're having sex shouldn't undercut your self esteem to this extent, and it seems like only dudes who are virgins (or inexperienced at least) think like that. How you feel about yourself shouldn't hang on whether or not you're getting laid. Also, girls like guys who like themselves and like and respect women, not guys who feel entitled to get laid without putting forth any effort, and least of most guys who whine a…

Similar situation here. My poor Fiancé, prior to living with me, had never had seasoned broccoli. While of course he touts his mother's cooking (what man doesn't?) he says she doesn't use spices much outside of salt, pepper and garlic. He's picky but not hesitant to try new things. The poor guy can only cook one meal (kielbasa and egg noodles), so I do 99.9% of the cooking, and he's gotten more accustomed to more flavorful foods and some of his tastes have changed. For example, prior to us livin…

I was psychologically bullied by both genders growing up. Honestly, it hurt more coming from guys once middle school (puberty) hit, and probably caused or contributed to me seeking shit men in the past, ha. But girls are way more mean. Last night I had a flashback dream about a bullying incident that happened to me in middle school (perpetrator was a girl) and I woke up crying. I'm 24 FFS haha. Let's teach our kids to not bully, regardless of gender. It can mess people up for life.

So start ticking some boxes. Improve yourself, for yourself (not just for vag), and the next thing you know, you'll have all the boxes ticked for some hot women. There are 4 billion women on the planet, and the majority of them are nice to look at. The odds are in your favor as long as you make the effort to improve yourself, without the end goal being pussy. Women can smell that shit from a mile away, trust me.

That's bananas. Women, especially average women, don't go around banging every Idris Elba, Michael B. Jordan, and Chris Hemsworth they see. The financial comparison is pretty good actually. Don't be jealous of the top 0.01% of hot guys. Sleeping with hot women isn't the end-all-be-all of life. Plus, some of those hot women SUCK in bed.
