Because then she would keep her fathers name. That would signal she still belongs to her father not to me - that she is her Big Man, her Alpha, her Leader, not me. I mean, of course, I have my fathers name of course everybody does. But that is fine - my dad was my Alpha, my role model, my Leader as long as he lived. He was my hero. Proud to have his name, was proud to obey him leading the family. But for a woman at some point she should stop heroing her father and hero her husband or her husband…

If TRP didn't work, men who have problems would still use a place to socialize and vent and so on. Might as well be TRP. I mean I do think it usually works but still. It has a generic support group characteristics, like come bro and vent about that bitch of an ex wife, and it has in itself little do with the part that is about making your sex life work.

It is a triangle. The good part of TRP is how to be an attractive man. If it was 1950 it is where it would end. The problem is that many women today want more than just an attractive man, and yet they often don't deserve it. A lot of guys feel they have to outjamesbond James Bond and yet all they can get today is a disrespectful thick girl with blue hair. Hence the gnashing of teeth.

To clarify - if my wife refused to use my name socially, that would be a big deal for me. I just don't care about the official paperwork.

But try that while living abroad e.g. Germany suddenly you drown in paperwork.

Tru dat. The whole idea that REAL MAN does not decorate himself is maybe 200 years old not more.

Authoritarian right-wing here. For me it is meaningful. Forceful government, but using it to repress chaos, not to support chaos as leftist authoritarians do.

That makes you right, because the two major categories are Cathedral and Heretics. So, Heretic. Left-Right axis would make sense only of the whole age we live in was neutral. But it is leftists. So there are two kinds of people, those in cahoots with the current rulers and those resisting.

That's Murica, FTFY. Reason 13132112 I am not going to accept that $100K IT manager job in Chicago, rather earn 40-50% that and live in a backwards place like Vienna or Budapest. (OK it is not an easy decision: I can basically never afford a single family home here. And that sucks, I like gardens and swimming pools and shit.)

I was always very aware of masculine values and attitudes, and never really wanted to follow them 100% because I had lower sex drive and was rather monogamous. So TRP basically just reaffirmed what I knew already. From dad etc. But I do not actually follow it because I do not want the same kinds of results (getting a whole collection of notches).

Compared to what? Modern mainstream is leftist, so if you are really aopolitical or not buy in to the mainstream you are rightist. If you simply DON'T care about ideological equality or ideological personal autonomy, if you are not even actively opposed just give no fucks, you are considered a rightie.

Good care is really rare when I am from as most guys are perfect alcoholics by 35 and that does not exactly help keeping in shape. Beer belly, puffy face. It is weird meeting a really healthy 45 year old guy. I mean not only someone who works out but also someone who is not drunk every day. They give a weird vibe out - old, yet young.

I don't know, but my non-college GFs were always better than my college ones. And I don't mean stupider. Often people who read 500 books because they LIKE them are smarter than people who read 500 books because those were the assigned material at college.

It is just about some miserable losers who lie to themselves. Tried visiting one long ago: faked interest, faked lust is the most miserable, petty, omega male thing ever.

they are basically beta males in female bodies, doing beta male stuff. In both cases, chalk it up to low hormone levels.

I was recently in Prague and had very positive impressions. I would put it this way: "German" level of civilizedness / efficiency combined with "Russian" level of not being PC. This is a very, very good combination.

I have zero trust in todays "mental health professionals" because I know how deeply the social sciences are infected with liberalism (I am not making it up, there are stats) so I don't expect it to be objective, value-free science (also, being perfectly value free in such a field is probably impossible anyway). Anyhow, if you can convince me it is something an Ancient Greek philosopher would have considered mentally unhealthy - because that was a healthy society - I'll buy.

This smells far too liberal for me. I use AskTRP precisely because I am not much interested in the liberal stuff: I seek the kind of advice a grandpa would give in 1930 because I like the way young people turned out in 1950. Well, perhaps girls need to be reared more liberally than boys, I am not 100% sure but one thing is sure, this would ruin a boy totally, he would be too emotional about things like love, instead of focusing on things like respect and pride and so on. But I can accept at some…

Sounds like you frame it as lifting vs. no sports whatsoever. What if OP is climbing boulders 3x a day? I think lifting is good but I wonder when TRP guys treat it almost like a religion. Is it because they are the kind of guys who never did other sports? Or how does it work? Should I imagine it like the suburbia in American movies where there is a gym in every suburbia but no other sports facilites? And lifting isn't hard, compared to other sports. My martial arts (kick-boxing) training is defi…

I just want to say I probably sucked at it. I did not give a fuck. Pregnancy is just a woman thing right? Nursing a baby is just a woman thing right? I hardly noticed the whole thing. The problem is, yes it is a woman thing as long as there are her mom, my mom, ANY other woman to help. Instead my wife just did the whole thing just completely alone. I did not realize this is hard for her. And that did not help our relationship. Basically I am in that strange and weird situation where my marriage …

They are not too extreme, they are oldschool normal. Although the occasional ice cream stick in the summer should be OK, just not by the tub and not regularly. We also use TV as long as our daughter is really small, read 18 months, because she is basically like a sticky tape, hugging my or her moms legs 100% of the time, does not want to be alone for a second, and that does not work when have to hurry to prepare for work and kindergarten, so yeah we put in a little mermaid cartoon. What else can…

Not really that much. I have always been a pro-masculinity guy and for this reason did not need TRP much. I was just trying to ask around in pro-masculinity communities. I guess I will also ask Art of Manliness forum.

My high school proposals at 15 were like, rolling eyes, how could ever thing a girl like me with a guy like you, ewww, disgusting etc. My luck was that when I started lifting weights at 17 it was 1991 and it was not as popular as today, at least not in my country so a muscular guy really stood out far more than today. By muscular I don't even mean big, like doing bench 5 x 10 with 80kg, that is only 180 lbs, so really a small weight. But still makes a bigger chest compared to other guys who don'…

Not at all - it is not a most basic natural thing, but an achievement: only 40% of men in history managed to reproduce. If you go back to a far less feminist age, like 1914, you still see many, many guys who were drafted to WWI and died as virgins. And those who tried to lose it before went to prostitutes. For a guy who was not an "eligible bachelor" pretty much prostitues were the only way. So it has always been something of an achievement and not basic although today it is indeed harder, due t…
