Worst mistake of my lifeThere's ways around that. Prenups, purchase homes individually, never mingle funds, set up trusts, etc... Just keep the state out of your relationships, period. It has no business the vast majority of cases. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/24 02:12 PM
Worst mistake of my lifeIn teaching my boys to never marry. Have the celebration, get a ring, say vows. Live and love each other. But never sign a contract that puts the state in the position of dictating your personal life and love life. Marriage is a coin toss whether you will be happy or lose everything and prevent you from having a comfortable elderly life. Divorce is the number 1 thing that prevents Americans from experiencing wealth in their life. The number 1. Marriage is the number 1 cause of divorce. Lol! | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/24 09:19 AM

How do you justify leavingI'm glad you got away from someone who refused to acknowledge their issues. Action alone can be a cause for hope and positivity. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/07/24 08:34 PM
How do you justify leavingUnfortunately, happiness is not a good goal to reach for. It leaves most people unsatisfied and let down. If you find purpose, however. That will provide happiness and even when not so happy, motivation to keep going. Happiness is way to fleeting. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/07/24 01:37 AM

Did you ex change her name back and if so did that bother you? Because it did for me.Not divorced, but been pretty close here recently. Changing her name back to her original is one of my demands. Absolutely. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/07/24 12:34 AM
It’s finalAnd yet, she's expressed being open to getting back together? How's that make sense? I've been married for 24 years so I've had an assful if this by now, but i am so sick of women saying shit they don't mean just cause we're in a fight or she's mad at the time. Ice gotten to the point that I now will do what she accuses me of, just to prove the point. She stopped saying I don't do shit real quick. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/07/24 12:28 AM
It’s finalMan. I don't know why, but that kind of hurts more. I'm not putting blame on either party, but if she cheated, you have a reason to hate her. Just a "we are not who we once we're and no longer want this", kind of a gut punch. I'm sorry. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/24 11:20 PM
It’s finalWas there a reason for the divorce or just "grew apart"? | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/24 10:57 PM
Divorcing a Native Woman with a CheckSo, it's not all that consistent in what is and isn't included then? I don't see how a salary, one someone has had for years, is all the sudden 50/50 just because you sign a marriage contract, but monthly income you get for being born to a certain set of parents is not considered the same. Screw over the higher earning spouse unless that income is not earned but given through no effort of your own. That's what it sounds like the thought of the day was. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/06/24 06:18 AM
Divorcing a Native Woman with a CheckBut that is not the same for a native monthly check? Why does that feel like it's pretty unfair? What about investments had prior to the marriage? If they mature or pay dividends and those are used to purchase more investments or open a saving account, are those communal? | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/06/24 06:04 AM
Divorcing a Native Woman with a CheckIf he had a salary prior to marriage and never joined accounts, would he have to split any savings or checking or investments purchases with those funds? If they never commingle their incomes? | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/06/24 05:46 AM
Divorcing a Native Woman with a CheckI thought California was a community property state both ways. If she gets half his, why would he get half hers? Maybe nit the house, but future earnings? Any accounts opened since the marriage. Investments. Would he have a right to half of these? | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/06/24 05:31 AM
I'm getting a divorce with the same personDoes the god you know murder hundreds of millions if not billions by his own hand or on his command? | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/24 07:16 PM
