One of the few things feminists got right. Many feminists, unlike conservatives, have read about the history of radical Islam. They quickly realize that radical Islam is almost invariably funded by the West as a means of preventing Arab secular nationalism. Again, almost without exception, the CIA etc. funds radical Islam -- from Egypt and Muslim Brotherhood to Afghanistan and the Mujahadeen to Kosovo to Syria and Libya to Isis. If you want to stop these atrocities, talk to your representative.

Pat Buchanan -- an actual "conservative" -- remarked that Eisenhower would have had to be insane to engage in the sort of provocations that the current US guv is engaging in against Russia. Pretty much every American president that I'm aware of has been pro-war. From McKinley onward the corporations/banks basically bought the presidency. So it has been ever since. Including the war criminal Bill Clinton. Libertarians and members of the populist right LOATHE Clinton, and rightly so. But some of them loathe Bill Clinton precisely because he was a war-monger - witness the original Ron Paul campaign. And they loathe the assault in Waco etc.

I said "almost", and I said "don't" (again, present tense). I think he has a point, and it goes back to the original concept of consent. What if I do not consent to live under your government? Back when governments didn't exist, a group of people could simply break off the tribe and go elsewhere. Now it's infinitely more complicated. In any case I don't think his concerns should simply be dismissed. The anti-federalists raised some pretty good points.

I have a gay friend and he makes the same complaint: feminists tend to regard gay men as "fashion accessories." And indeed "intersection" theory is basically the intellectual equivalent; feminists started out hating on gay men but eventually realized that they could use gays for cover. They hypothesized that anti-gay sentiment derived from the original sin of misogyny, even though lesbians have historically been treated with much more leeway.
