In my understanding, DEER is when you start defending your original position. If I was in this situation I'd say something like 'I regretted it and i have decided it's not for me outside of a happy, committed relationship'. Then give room for my hypothetical SO to feel how he feels and decide what he wants to do.

Absolutely agree with other users here. The only thing I'd say is don't have sex with someone because you've been dating for x months and because he is petulant about not getting sex because you aren't a virgin. Virginity matters a lot but not so much that you have to give it away to someone new just because you are no longer a virgin. No one is entitled to your body in that way. If it becomes a topic of contention, be honest and direct about why you decided to not engage in sex anymore. Don't D…

You know, I struggle with this sometimes. Trying to be helpful can sometimes have the opposite of intended result. I'm realizing when I micromanage, I haven't gotten my fill of alone time. Still a work in progress to recognize it before the damage is done 😬

Yes. A mission can be as RPW as helping their SO fulfill his mission. The only time a mission can be harmful is if it is in direct contradiction with his AND a compromise cannot be reached. Like in business with partners. A deadlock means there's no positive movement. A person with a mission and hope to fulfill the same is generally a happy person with an internal locus of control. I don't pay much mind to anyone bashing anyone else's path to self actualization. It seems pointless to add to the …

Same! We can do this! I've been keeping busy with holiday stuff so when we do spend time together, it's new and exciting changes for him. I actually mentioned I am channeling all of my 'I am missing you' energy into nesting and he said he noticed.

Gosh, whats wrong with me? I agree, the teenage boy is who I feel the most sorry for. There is no reason whatsoever for an adult in an authority position to have a romantic relationship with kids. It's quite a transgression on my part because Im usually loud about this kind of 'romance' being wrong when I hear anyone talk about how they would have liked it in high school, or had a crush on their teachers. Teenagers are often pushing boundaries and figuring themselves out, it is 100% wrong on any…

I think it's all about power and to be desired in a way only a teenager can. She may want to be the center of someone's universe. That is a place one can get to with lots of work in adult relationship. With teenagers, it's much more common to be swept up in the romance of it all without agency. A pet theory- if she married her high school sweetheart, she has never been in an adult SMP. It's much more 'threatening' in the adult SMP where there are no normalized, over the top romantic gestures lik…

I've been making salsa in a mortar and pestle for dinners frequently. A charred tomato, some chopped garlic, a chili, cilantro, dash of salt and squeeze of lemon. It's super simple but is very flavorful specially with organic ingredients. I don't aim for fine paste, it feels more homey that way haha. I started it when my garden had too many tomatoes but i don't think I'll stop. I thought of making a jar and sealing it but I've fallen in love with the routine of grinding it. the smell and flavor …

Before we went on a date. We were friends with obvious attraction to each other. It felt very easy to say what I want for myself while he was a friend because it was hypothetical (like OP said) didn't put pressure on him or us. He likedhow much I knew myself. One of the first things that caught his attention was my stance on child rearing. He says it made sense to him and pushed him more towards 'maybe I want kids' while he was solidly in the middle before. I knew I wanted a life with him before…

You sound ambitious. What kind of life do you picture for yourself? Are you trying to build a legacy with someone who is as ambitious as you? If so, it's impossible to accomplish that without the other person's enthusiasm. Has your ex moved on? Why did you break up? You can't force your ex into a life you maybe imagining for yourself. He has to want it with you too. It is worthwhile to wait and fall in love with a partner (even if you are rekindling your relationship with ex) and THEN building a…

When I started implementing red pill concepts successfully, the hardest thing was to keep my mouth shut about it. You know how anything that produces really good results has strong supporters? Like someone with chronic fatigue and pain found gluten free diet rids them of every bad feeling in their bodies and can't stop trying to proselytize? Yup.. luckily I never said anything too specific but the instinct was there. I started seeing self destructive BP patterns everywhere and it was hard to thi…

A family member has been in a LDR for almost 8 years. What helps them the most is falling asleep on video call on hard nights. Even if you don't have much to say or are working on homework, leaving it on and each doing their own thing, getting ready for bed, saying things as they pop up in your head can mimic intimacy of homelife much easier than anything else. Spotify playlist is always a good one so you can see what he is listening to and match your moods. Podcast discussions. Meeting friends …

You absolutely didn't make it sound like you didn't know how to chat with others. I loved the analysis of female interactions built on the fsm theory. I think stylists spend so much time in close proximity to other women engaging in mutual primping activities that there's no need for formal practice. All women want to feel beautiful and pampered which stylists are in the position to give. How exciting for you meet your SO's office! That can be nerve wracking too. Its always extremely helpful for me to look the best I can, smile a lot, be present, engage in any party activities, say 'yes' more than 'no, thank you'. If you find yourself separate…

If he wants to do it, it is likely because he is turned on by it. Maybe have music playing in the background. It always helps me from overthinking with soft jazz in the background. If he is someone you look up to, one act cannot change that. He can bring you to orgasm which is likely one of the most vulnerable states. He can do that. That is power. He can study your body and make you respond to him. It can make him even more powerful. An orgasm changes the feeling of a woman for a man during PIV…

My favorite is traveling abroad with him. His coolness under pressure is reassuring and I always feel safe no matter where we are. I am getting better at understanding what he means just with body language. It inspires trust, deference and stfu when dealing with sticky situations. We have gotten closer together through every mind-blowing experience. It literally feels like we are the only people in the world when we cannot understand anything or anyone. I hope articles like this published in Vogue leads to reflection on the logical conclusion of what society is pushing women to do. To sacrifice biology for an interesting life...Vogue has, more or less, been guiding womanhood through the last century. The whole glorious single phenomena perpetuated by SATC and Carrie were synonymous with Vogue and style for a while. Slapping Vogue and style on Carrie's sad modern story romanticized the idea of lonely nights, brunches obsessed with analyzing ever…

When he heads out for work, I sometimes walk out to the balcony and wait for him to look up. The morning crowd in our intersection sees me blowing kisses and him catching them. There's usually an older lady who will say 'Oh young love!' or something similar. Its been going on for as long as we have lived in this apartment. I love that I can still pull at his heart strings like that. We are both pretty serious people but goof off and have romantic gestures like that for small everyday things. He …

Which archetypes are you most drawn to? Where do you see your husband falling on the spectrum? Don't forget that Greater Betas (and all men in general) are represented in the Jungian archetypes! I am drawn to the renegade and SO is apex renegade. He enjoys doing his own thing - mastering skills, gathering knowledge, living by his own rules and defining his own success. I think feminism has enabled both men and women to take little responsibilities. Having inter gender dialogs more has allowed for the hardships to come out, which, in a sense, is good but its also started a meme generation celebrating stagnancy and lack of control in life. Motive is I would never be happy by myself, doing things for myself. I mean, I still eat crackers or ramen if its just me. I will go all out if I'm sharing meals. Perfect marriage would be growing together and respecting each …

Are you successful? Intelligent in one way or another? Do you have clear skin and nice teeth? Do you wear clothes that fit you? Do you have a nice posture? Do you have friends that you like and help you grow? Do you have joy in life? Without these things first, its futile to give up because of race and height. Its like not playing the hand at all, however shitty.

I don't care about your autobiography. Why does everyone in that sub have this delusion that they deserve love? No one deserves love. People work for it or don't. That includes you. It's tacky for people in glass houses to throw stones.

Yet you are the 30 year old asking around when to sleep with a guy or not. Most girls figure this push and pull game by the time they are in high school. Flirting around in TRP, asking TRPmen if they are interested when they ask what your timeline is while answering your question... doesn't add up to be a quality woman who has it figured out. Its great to like TRP advice and find friends in men but 'I am not like other girls' snowflak-ing is just sad.

I think life can get hard and mundane. I'm in my early-late 20s (that's a thing I made up.. ) but life went from a guided path to 'I have to decide who I want to be' pretty quickly. That's why younger women are sought after more. It's not so much the skin or the figure as it is the carefree nature. Don't beat yourself up. I've read some other place about you dealing with anxiety. That's normal too. This is unsolicited and a bit hippie but we are trying to make sense of why we happen to be alive …

I think Tempest always emphasized it. From what I know, her relationship didn't follow the most advised RP trajectory. It really helped me take RP knowledge and be happy with my own relationship and how it came to be. It also helps me appreciate him as a multidimensional human who can have many different thoughts and feelings. At its core, our dynamic is very RP but there isn't enough RP literature to define all of what we are together.

I started inviting him to social outings, letting him into my life and presenting myself as a whole human in a dynamic relationship with others in my life. Dates can be intimate and escalate but there's a distance in social situations that can be just as intimate. Hopefully he'd invite the girl into his life as well. You can share new experiences that are ill conducive to escalation. But of course, conversations will go there if he's attracted. It's best to enjoy the buildup, acknowledge it and …

Internalizing RP is descriptive not prescriptive did the most in terms of having a good relationship. When I read that the craving for drama is feminine and it's okay to seek it as long as it's not disruptive, my whole life became so much easier. I could stop being perfect in my thoughts and gossip sometimes (gasp!) without an internal crucification.

Succinct and powerful! It is very appearance heavy and nobody seems happy in the depiction. I know nobody would be dancing for joy but everyone seems to be deluded in 'their calling' even if they are the few that are not oppressed by the system.

My thoughts I am not for a society as such but I cannot help but wonder if I wouldn't be happy as a handmaid if the whole world was somehow infertile but I wasn't? I am against the punitive nature of depicted society as individual problems can only be suppressed for so long before a change is forced. I was thinking why the handmaids wouldn't be provided an elite station and encouraged via controlled rewards (no separation from previous kids could be a start and a minimum). After all, we have you…

I really like it! This should be discussed and it is better when it comes from a woman so the misogyny blame can go f itself. I said curiosity because it seems like my SO always wants to know 'why' while I may or may not care. It means he always has something to teach me and will go very deep into any topic. His industry also requires continuing education so ambition and curiosity goes hand in hand for him. This sucks. There's nothing you can do right now. Take care of your emotional health and your baby. Let him give you an explanation, let him fix it. If you act so hurt, its higher chance that he will try to keep you safe from any future losses by hiding than transparent discussion. Money is important but if your day to day isn't impacted a lot, I would suggest this is your time to exercise the trust in your husband.

Everything you say is gold! Sex reminds me on a consistent basis that its okay and preferred that I am vulnerable, girly and GOLF. That pile of clothes on the bedroom floor? A mountain I must tackle immediately if I haven't been intimate with him in a while. Otherwise, its something I can choose to take care of, or not, and it doesn't affect my mood. No, what's good for women will not always be good for everyone in general. Shorter distances between hubs (grocery stores, more crosswalks), sustainable lights along the streets, increased courtyard spaces will be good for families and elderly along with women. In general though, its never a good idea to cater to a group of people and say 'its better for everyone this way'. If each idea has to go through a filter of 'Will this be good for women?' the system becomes tyrannical and we will forego …

Don't have sex before monogamy. Be okay with them having sex with others before you give it up. Build relationship on family values and future more than common interests. Some are raised in anti-feminist families to be good wives and mothers but when they are young, they look down on domesticity as drudgery, beneath critical thinking and kind of unnecessary. The younger woman said you were like an uncle or second father because she thought you were being creepy, establishing familial relationship to get you to stop leering, talking down or whatever else uncomfortable thing you were doing. Women aren't running around in the wild trying to find daddy. If you are talking just as much IRL about highly private things and replying to yourself in a weird 'pseudo-intellectual' masturbatory fashion, you are making everyone uncomfortable. Glad your wife is sl…

I should revisit her book and blog posts! I suppose I was getting too eager & hamstering a bit with some big events in the horizon :) Couldn't agree more about being on top of anything going on in our lives. Its shocking how much of a difference self care makes. When everything is taken care of and on point (as much as it can be realistically), so much mental energy just frees up for 'living'.

Most jobs are not careers and deal with industries that do not further humanity in any tangible way. If someone can afford to stay home and contribute to the overall happiness of their home and family (including extended family and immediate community), it is up to them. There are studies that show after 78k/yr income, a family's happiness level doesn't necessarily rise with increase in annual income. Cultivating social circle, interests, learning ways to be an able parent or volunteering isn't …

Off the top of my head, Look good and be comfortable in the clothes & makeup for the occasion. When I am happy with the way I look, I am engaged because I don't have to waste mental energy being self conscious. Internalize the people and setting for the event. Playing up the doting SO facet is super well received by someone like his mom vs his boss. I keep in mind who the audience is and which characters they would like to see most in him. This is baseline but never interrupt, rush his thoughts …

Gotta love feminists collective hamster. Men aren't debating Emma Watsons affiliation with feminism. They also aren't the ones blaming Taylor Swifts dating habits. Men aren't the primary consumers of celebrity gossip magazines. Emma Watson (or her PR) and the magazine anticipate such headlines and raise in circulation that go with it. It's not about her stance on feminism, it's about money.

Yes, exactly. Was listening to an episode of "Why oh Why" podcast and the narrator's relationship died after 2 years because the guy finally decided to tell her he never wants kids. On her last night in their shared apartment, he downloads Tinder. She opines he downloaded it so he could see if he can get the same feeling again. He retorts "No, to see if I still have it"... She waited too long to have the kids talk because she wasn't sure he would want any with her. Consciously or subconsciously,…

I'm under 30 and something that is happening less is actual dating. Netflix and chill, hanging out, hooking up etc seem more ubiquitous. There have always been couples that fell into a relationship but courting seems shorter, different, less personal as online dating evolves. It's not depressing to me as change of SMP is inevitable with technology. I do feel for young girls that think "being the cool chick that doesn't care about labels" is more important than voicing their true desires. Myself …

I interpret it as being your own Prince Charming. When dating without purpose wasn't very common, women were sold the idea that someone will come along and break their life's monotony. Now most women have had a couple of relationships and experienced the post honeymoon phase where everyone is solely responsible for their own happiness & wellbeing. The same kind of women that brought into the idea that someone somewhere will come along and save them from their lives are the same kind of women buy…

I know the general RP narrative is women have it so easy because of attention but that last paragraph makes her life sound difficult. Not getting any attention sucks and getting that much attention when you are out with friends also sucks. Even if the receiver enjoys it at the moment, usually theres a downside of not developing a personality when everyone else your age is. Two ends of spectrum, none is ideal.

Thank you! Understanding oneself is paramount when you are trying to make others understand and love you. Every body will react differently to period based on genes, age, health etc. I think it is more important that women know their own body and moods that go with having physical discomfort. When our partners understand our already well understood bodies, the relationship reaps the rewards. Good luck, it is an awesome thing you are doing.

In descending order of my preference - light stubble, clean shaven, full beard and heavy stubble. Light stubble suggests an oversight in otherwise regular care. It makes me feel like something was so important and urgent that he just skipped shaving. Clean shaven is good self care and I like that too. Something I've observed recently: the SJW community invests so much time into essentially saying "You're helping us wrong" that they're probably pushing away people who could actually have a lot to offer them. I meant it more as an excuse and definitely don't think there is a predictable correlation between merit and success. Connections and timing matter greatly! They both also need work to cultivate. Significant amount of people can't turn connections and timing into tangible success or happiness. Significant amount of people work hard without tangible success as well. Most successful people have to try many different approaches to get there. NSFW language but this is what I mean

Yes! It's hilarious when people complain about not having had the same opportunities or connections or whatever in the age of internet. It literally has never been easier to learn and the playing field has never been this leveled. That fact doesn't stop people from looking at finished version of success to immediately and vocally validate their lack of initiative amongst peers so they can continue not doing anything about it.

After the age of 23-26, if you cannot establish healthy boundaries with family members or friends, it says a lot more about you than them. After any traumatic experience, everyone gets a short time to lick their wounds but you should be able to find resilience without falling into unhealthy habits. Good: Kept up with DIY projects, made spanakopita for ambitious dinner, had a really good time chatting with SO's friends. I get too swept up with friends' emotional needs but I have maintained boundaries in the last 2 weeks :D Bad: Need to cook and write more than I have been lately. Ugly: Had a bit of insecure (shark) week and didn't realize it in time. I comfort tested SO a lot through the week. The morning after drinking (depressant for me even in small amounts), I just hamstered too much an…

I like the outsider view mindset. "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle". I thought it was Plato but the origin of the quote is under contest. It is difficult to practice unwaveringly kind attitude in general but sometimes, more so in a long term relationship. When you know a person for a long time, it becomes easier to expect more and more of them without check. It becomes easier to mistakenly think you somehow know the extent and depth of any hardship they may have. It is s…

It helps your processing speed mentally as well as your reflexes. It was a lot of fun That seems like exactly how you'd make physical fitness even more appealing! I would be very open to group games a la WOW or with some God of War storyline encouraging friends to do something adventurous together. I had to google tamagotchi and now I want one :D

I feel you so much on the 2nd point. I want to take care of my parents so much even though they are very capable at this point (both are around 50). It's been an unexpected and fast change from 'Are they taking care of me enough?' to 'Am I a good enough caretaker for them?' As far as the 1st and 3rd fears go, you already know its healthy to do your best everyday and also be happy with where you are. I am constantly battling these as well.

The range is up to 7km (4.3miles) with 1080p transmission videos according to the manufacturer. You have to register these with the FAA and they are banned closer to the White House. I am not sure how these are regulated. I have and I am really excited for them. I would be this guy and embarrass myself but I don't even care

It could be a good conversation starter to analyze your parents' relationship. If they have an awesome relationship, its good bonding for siblings to be like "Remember when our parents got us through a hard time" or "They used to be so lovey-dovey and embarrassing" or on a serious note "I would like what they have". If the relationship isn't great between your parents, there's a lot more things you can talk about, what you think could have gone better. Conversation like this will let you underst…

I had such a hard time dealing with this as I am pretty ambitious by myself but to have a suitor want me to be ambitious was weirdly off-putting. I suppose you could flesh out what each suitor means by "ambitious". You can be ambitious in your SAHM role. In my anecdotal experience, I often find that younger men (brother, family friends, cousins) say they want ambitious women as a thing you just say like some women want a Chanel bag. The prospect of being DINKs is fun for someone who's finding so…

Crabs in a bucket mentality. It is so obvious reading as an observer but it is harder to see when one is directly involved in some anxiety inducing situation like this. What has happened is you gave your nice family car keys to your friend, she's taken it for a joy ride through the desert, revved up your engine, you came home with it, your husband cleaned it as best as he could in his limited time and then she has gotten a hold of the keys again. She may try the same again which you may react to…

Yes!! I am reading "Understanding Vietnam" and one of the first chapters talks of Yin and Yang, how both seek balance by outdoing each other in times of disharmony. A two parent home can suffice for the check and balance of two energies, even in non traditional family structures.

What keeps you up at night worrying? Scarcity - I am self employed in something I lucked into. I go through the typical entrepreneur highs and lows of "I am a bada**" to "I will die bankrupt" in the same day. I find myself worrying about not having enough to be a stay at home mom when the time comes. What genuinely terrifies you? Violence, war, rape, being torn apart from family To a lesser degree - losing independence of time, not being able to express my true desires creatively. Coping Talking…

This reminds me of a study on demographics in relation to revolution in a country. I'll try to find it again. IIRC the study controlled for resources scarcity so low standard of life wasn't the only reason for revolution. The conclusions went something like revolution can be predicted if the youth demographic heavily outnumbers older population, much more so when the youth population is composed primarily of men. Also an interesting meta observation (is that allowed? :3) - on the thread about fe…

From the context provided in OP and comments, it seems the dynamic may not change between you and your husband. Have you given any thought to part time work, perhaps something with work from home option? This way, you can work out your anxious energy in resource building yourself and you will feel accomplishment. It will help your husband see you in a capable role as well and might make him more likely to take your input in financial decisions. Please don't say you don't have the right skills be…

The other option for an attractive woman is to pass on scenes where looks are heavily and explicitly being rewarded. Some are easier to avoid than others. Most objectively attractive women are not club hostesses and are not accepting cruises/trips. It appears there is a growing number of young women who do but I don't know how much the normalization and frankness accounts for.

Meetup is a great tool to use. It keeps you active and interesting. Hopefully with enough time and exposure, you'll make new friends that prioritize health and self improvement. Once you have that, you can have different circles of friends for different emotional and social needs. I 100% agree! However, some of my best memories come from times when I was too tired to do fun stuff but did anyway. It is always a fresh breath of air and rejuvenates me to break out of the norm. Then I can work harder, longer with a fresh mind. Sometimes it is our job as good girlfriends/wives to recognize these circumstances and keep them from being a "phase" in the relationship. Of course, men in our lives are different and sensitive to these things in varying degrees. So this has to be done…

Seeing this and the other post on "being his soft place to land" together is interesting. Any human being has certain amount of mental energy everyday to deal with things. If the men are constantly being rejuvenated at home, it makes sense they would fare better in the world. Inspiring!

I think it starts with standing straight- shoulders should be squarely on hips and ankles. Practicing against a wall helps. Always engage your core. This helps takes stress out of your back which isn't perfectly designed for long hours of standing. As for walking, practice walking on a straight line, each foot planting on the line itself. Try to make your steps length the same on both feet. An elastic work out band can help with this practice. How are you stepping? The heel of your feet should l…

To me, the extent of physical alphaness I really want (not even need) is that he's able to pick me up and twirl me :) I suggest looking at guys that are confident, healthy, groom themselves without overdoing it (the over manicured beard ruins the second pic). My boyfriend knows my passcode but I would be shocked if he actually used it without asking for a specific purpose. It's partly based on his personality and partly because I would blush to death if he saw the selfies, random google searches, how much I'm on RPW 😳 Nothing bad would come of it and I'm always sharing everything I ought to share with him but I think I'd bury my head in the pillow forever.

Something the OP made me think of is my girl friends and how much I notice this behavior in our interactions. It helps to understand that this behavior may be nested in good intentions. The man comments on it often. He also mentioned that I always have a way of looking up into his eyes even if we are level. I sing songs and coo into his ears in languages he doesn't understand. It's usually full of romantic meaning. Sometimes when he teases me, I'll bust out some sassy or pouty songs. He doesn't u…

I was answering the "celebrating female beauty" thread and what I wrote ended up being an answer for here as well. I hope you don't mind me using the same answer twice. My mom definitely influenced me, my goal looks and what I crave in a relationship. She was always subtly flirting with my dad, always playful and joyous. For me, I grew up admiring Aishwarya Rai. She has the innocent yet enticing look and her moves are exceptionally feminine. I remember trying to place my hands daintily as she would in movies - never forced but never plopped. Every move seemed intentional and graceful. More of her Mischief queen She is a mother now and I loved how she embraced her changing body while her daughter was an infant in the face of criticisms. Recently I have thought a lot about feminine and masculine energy and their expression in civilization. If it is masculine to bend reality, it is feminine to tend to conceived reality. These traits go hand in hand to create harmony. It is sad to see the comments saying "Even smart women would rather game the system" when it is so obvious that the things man (and woman to lesser extent or in an indirect way perhaps) has created aren't being taken care of (for eg: home, children, community) becaus…
