i wish they’d leave the sub alone so it can get back to posts about things we care about mutually. no honest hate here, i’m just getting tired of all the posts in FDS talking about yet more people who hate us

How was the doctor legally able to release medical information to him if she’s an adult? Edit: No shade here, I swear. I’m genuinely curious.

This is one of my hang-ups too. Don’t get me wrong, I love the FDS enough to be here but that doesn’t mean we’ll all jump on it 110% immediately. Can anyone shed some light on this? Sure, FDS tells us what a proper timeline looks like, but I’ve seen men drop the charade after several years. They may check our boxes to get married, but it doesn’t always last. What then?

Ahhh I just had an interaction at work today that is kind of related. Manager is interviewing people for my position because I’m leaving soon. Lady he’s interviewing is a young, attractive woman wearing a pencil skirt and high heels. Other male coworker says to me privately, “That’s a lawsuit waiting to happen.” Excuse me? SHE is not the lawsuit. PEOPLE SEXUALLY HARASSING OTHER EMPLOYEES IS A LAWSUIT. NOT HER. It’s not US, it’s YOU!

I agree, it seemed crazy that he asked. I didn’t tell, told him he shouldn’t be asking people that, and ultimately decided to block. I’ve just been thinking about it since and wondered what the ladies here would have to say about it.

and they start getting mad about you looking good in any setting other than just for them. thinking you’re trying to attract other men and getting jealous of other men, thinking you’re cheating or something. so you want a beautiful woman but can’t handle the other eyes on her? fucking babies i tell ya

I do agree that showing women responding in ways that don’t go with FDS is a relevant argument. In my defense, I didn’t respond and I blocked the dude. But if anything we shouldn’t be showcasing ourselves going against FDS practices. I get that people find it triggering so I guess I can support the weekly thread. As a newbie it was very helpful to see what LVM looks and sounds like though so I don’t think we should ditch it completely. That’s just my Newbie 2 cents though!

I posted a little bit ago some LVM behavior. I thought it was okay, since there are a couple of Flair tags that create an opportunity to tag a post like that. Maybe if we agree that we don’t want to see that, we remove the Flairs for it? Definitely not trying to argue the issue, I’m here for y’all at the end of the day. I myself simply thought it was okay because I saw the Flairs.

On the subject of children, and call me out if I’m wrong because I am young, unmarried, and don’t claim to know everything: A long time ago, when marriage was less about love and more about legal binding and childbearing, having children was less of the woman’s choice, and more of an expectation - and often forced. Today, that’s not the case. A lot of the debates in this post are failing to acknowledge that marriage is an OLD concept, and every aspect of it is not rationally applied to modern-da…

more specifically, marriage is historically interpreted as a permanent and eternal binding.

like u/death_by_1000_cats said, marriage and love are separate but often overlapping concepts. this post isn’t about love, it’s about marriage. i suppose if that’s the takeaway you want in regards to this debate about MARRIAGE, then i can say for myself that no, I am not ashamed to admit that I view a legally binding contract as a decision that ought to be considered with tact. i do not think that men are only good for their utility. i love men, i love my man, i love my father and my brothers. l…

so who gets the house? she’s not looking for a payday, just a reasonable and just solution to a shared asset being split. wouldn’t you be concerned with “who gets the house”? why shouldn’t she also be concerned with that? why is women asking for a just split to a shared asset so absurd to you guys, when you’re asking for the same thing? aren’t a man and a woman going through a divorce essentially in the same position? it’s equally shitty for both, and any argument against marriage applies to bot…

Not a friend, but yes, he’s had my number for years and has tried to hook up before. He’s never gotten like this bad, per se, and it was so infrequent that I never bothered to block/reject. TBH I don’t like blocking people because I WANT to know what people are trying to say, or how frequent. Like I want that as usable information. But this time around, he texted, I rejected, this happened, now blocked since it’s just so useless. So I think he just sees me as a long-game tease, which is probably…

I just got out of an abusive relationship, my first big long-term “I’m going to marry this guy” relationship. So now I’m at this point of, sure, I’ll date, but not like I used to. Now if I’m gonna date then it’s gonna be for the real deal, which totally requires new standards. FDS gave me the blueprint I needed! However I’m starting to realize how few and far between these HVM are...

Quick comment to say this was after I rejected him and went to sleep. I put him on Do Not Disturb and woke up to these, then blocked him. Also, I’m new to FDS and just wanted to say this sub has changed my outlook so much! You guys have seriously helped me raise the bar! 9/10 guys teach me within 1-3 convos that they’re not worth my time, and I’m actually taking red flags seriously now!
