Honest/sincere questions: 1) Are you familiar with the term "love bombing?" 2) Do you think abusive partners (regardless of gender) are abusive from day 1? 3) Do you think that abusive partners start out engaging in the worst forms of abuse they find justifiable and sustain that level or do you think it's more like the abuse equivalent of "frog boiling?"

Yeah, but OP's first paragraph is asking why it can't be part of the standard battery of tests. The parent comment in this thread that I responded to is someone referring to that as an accusation of cheating. If the law forces a man to pay child support upon finding out he is not the father while letting the bio father off scot free, it makes sense to add that to the standard battery of tests. Wait, what do you mean by "take people's dna"? No one said anything about starting a database.

If a dude refused to acknowledge a kid as his until he got a dna test, i would agree with you. If a couple (or lady half of a couple) decides to do the dna test to give the male the same 100% confidence as a female or they become part of the mandatory battery of tests babies receive, how is that an accusation?

Acknowledgment of a possibility is not an accusation. We literally never have to face that possibility, why shouldn't men be just as sure as we are? Outside of ego, I don't see a reason.

. . .why would a person assume they are exclusive without discussing it first? I straight asked the gentleman i'm currently dating if he was talking to any other people the way he talks to me before we even met. If exclusivity is important to you, it's on you to express that as a boundary. Unless you're dating a mind reader, of course.

I'm female and i say/think things like "women are strange and mysterious creatures" and "most ladies seem to be operating on some sort of rule set i am not familiar with." (I'm Autistic, so that may be at work here, to be fair. Depends how much of a Simon Baron-Cohen fan you are.) It could be that he just organizes and shares information in conversation based on the current topic as well as information gaps that occur as opposed to more nuanced conversational cues and expectations. 2 were decent, one was fucking crazy. Crazy Ex thought he was an awesome BF. A week or two before i broke it off he used my card to order Christmas gifts for both of us i didn't know about. (About $40 on me and $120 on him. No, he didn't reimburse me. Just used my money.) I found out when i looked at my bank statement. "When i said 'i bought you gifts' i obviously meant i literally made the purchase, not that i paid for them." And then a week later when i broke up with him he broke the stuff tha…

In my experience, it was the male who balked at the idea of being the "stay at home" partner. I had that issue with an Ex. We were discussing hypotheticals, I was with him about 11 years. The issue was the opposite of what you described. I didn't mind the idea of being the sole breadwinner (I made more than he did when we first started discussing this). He thought it would be degrading for him to be a stay at home dad. He didn't think leaving close to all of the housework/errands to me was degra…

Gay men are more prone to act like women. That's not what I've observed personally, although that is a common stereotype. Where as the more alpha and masculine there is less a need for deception and games. ? Are you asking about biological masculine/feminine characteristics or social/cultural masculine/feminine characteristics? To me, women seem more eager to protect their reputation/social status, but men seem more eager to protect their ego. I think this can cause both/either gender to use sim…

If you are only romantically pursuing women, I can understand why the observances you've made skew towards one gender over the other. If you are romantically pursuing both and noticing that, well, that conversation sounds a lot more interesting and unbiased. (For clarity, I dated both but had more male/female relationships.)

I've enouncountered men like that, too. In my experience, liars react that way regardless of gender. The difference I noticed is that the men would typically become enraged at being questioned (how dare you question me) and the women would just go straight for "I'm not a liar, you're mean and I'm a victim!" Shitty people are universal, but I will agree that shitty tactics can fall along gender lines.

Did your partner return your kindness by offering to test for proof of fidelity? He cannot return that kindness, maternity is a little too obvious to allow for that. Also, a paternity test result would not be proof of fidelity overall. It would be proof of fidelity that one time. My sole intention in offering was to alleviate the inequality between myself and my partner. I get to never doubt a child I have is mine. That's a place my mind can never go, no matter how dark and desperate a moment I …

I would see no harm in paternity testing being a default procedure, but I do think parents should be able to opt out without fear of penalty. For example, if it's a situation where the gentleman knows already that he isn't the biological father, opting out would make perfect sense. I also think men should be free to say "I don't want to know," without being forced to give a reason. Not that I think you would oppose that, I just wanted to be clear.

I'm female, I just talk funny. With the exception of a joke I made a day or two ago about masturbating with a toilet paper roll, my comments/posts going back 6 or 7 years should verify that I, in fact, have a vagina or am extremely committed to the role.

I would want to offer my fiance/husband the same peace of mind and 100% surety that I enjoy as a female parent. I never have to experience a shred of doubt there and can devote myself 100% to child rearing knowing it will not end in regret. I think he should have that same peace of mind I get to take for granted from the jump.

Also — if I “offer” a paternity test to prove I didn’t cheat*, should he “offer” a lie detector to prove he didn’t cheat? That's not why I want to offer it, so I can't answer that. *And you realize that being father doesn’t mean she didn’t cheat right? Yes, I know it would only prove that I didn't cheat that one time (literally).

This makes sense. Whether or not it's appropriate for a particular couple to seek out electively seems like it would depend on symmetry/equality vs trust/fidelity as a main priority in the relationship.

I'm Autistic, yes, but I'm still a person and my opinion matters as much as the next person. For you maybe, but for the gift giver (me) and the giftee (my SO) it's a symbol of equal footing, understanding, and consideration.

That analogy is flawed. In the paternity question, a baby has indeed been born. If your STD scenario involved one member of the couple having symptoms that could arguably be attributed to an STD that also requires intense support for your partner over the course of multiple years, then I would think the comparison fair. Also, there is no imbalance in the STD scenario like the paternity one.

Ok, so when I said "should give" in my post title, could you think of it as me saying "should be willing to give" instead? Would that address your concerns here? I had thought that was implied, so I didn't bother specifying it in the title.

You don't understand or you don't agree? Understand. I guess I can understand the argument, though. It's sort of like doing a prenup even in the context of marriage being forever. The only difference is a prenup is for the future, which nobody can predict, whereas the paternity test is about whether both parties were trustworthy in the fairly recent past. Divorces can happen because people change. Sometimes, the issue isn't that one person changed, but that they finally became comfortable acting…

Am I understanding correctly that he is not on the spectrum? Yes, we use "NT" as shorthand for "neurotypical" or "not Autistic" in the ASD community. We use the term "allistic" sometimes, too. Have you had this discussion with him?? Yes. He was a bit confused at first, but he came to understand what I was trying to say fairly quickly. His position is basically that although he wouldn't seek it out, he accepts the sentiment as I mean it. Being 100% sure feels good, I want that for him, too.

I am arguing that acknowledging it's possible should not be treated the same as saying it is probable. I mean would you also argue it’s not insulting to ask your husband to randomly get STD checks for “peace of mind”? That would be insulting. The obvious double standard would not sit well with anyone. Why should he get random STD screens but not me? This comparison is flawed because the male and female are on equal footing from the jump in your proposed scenario. There is no equilibrium to estab…

Not every rape victim is comfortable reporting/coming forward right away, some take years. Some never report for other reasons. Some victims even take years to acknowledge to themselves that they are not at fault and what happened was rape.

You did catch that I am female, right? I think we should offer it/be proactive because of the negative connotation placed upon such a request. We can all see that bias evident in the comments here. 1) "Is it possible your wife cheated on you?" 2) "Is it probable your wife cheated on you?" Every married male (with rare exception) must say yes to the first question. The second question is the one that varies by man/situation. Does this explain the difference?

But it's not impossible that you had sex with someone else. You know it's impossible, but he cannot know that beyond doubt like you can. He can only know it's improbable that you had sex with someone else. Unless you two are doing some weird chastity belt/only going out with a chaperone type stuff. I'm assuming you don't, but feel free to correct me.

I think you misread what the purpose of the test was for. To reiterate, it is to give the male the same surety that females take for granted. That's it, not to "prove fidelity" or the like.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/19 10:10 PM
2

But like with WOMENS autonomy, you have to fight for it. I can see the logic in this, but I prefer to live by "when possible, lessen the suffering of others." "You only deserve humanity if you fight for it, not just because you're human," is not a sentiment I could live by, myself.

How can you not see the connection between infidelity and paternity? I see how they are obviously related. I am not sure this question was meant to be answered alone. How could she be having someone else’s baby if not due to infidelity? Rape/sexual assault is one. Btw are you autistic or something? Yes. That may be part of why "default yes" seems so. . . odd to me. In my view, just about any activity can be used to push outside of your comfort zone. Right, it's my understanding that would be true regardless, but I am asking (if you'd care to answer) why you personally would make the distinction of "all who ask me to dance get to dance with me" but not "all who ask me to chat 3 mins get to chat 3 mins" or "all who ask to buy me drink get to buy me a drink" or "all who ask for a hug get a hug," etc.

If anything, I respect him more. I'm often described as "logical to a fault." 2 out of 2 of my Ex BFs were way too emotional for me. He had to work through those emotions to come to the conclusion he did. I would respect him less if he had just Hulk raged out (understandably, though) and started hating my fat fuckin' face from that moment forward, as I expected. Did I misunderstand the purpose of this post? I'm not asking for advice. I don't need it, we're happy. I am asking questions in an attempt to understand a perspective I don't necessarily agree with. I mean, I know there is more to Red Pill Women than "he always leads, she always follows." I thought "the pills" were about acknowledging that different people are better suited for different roles, and we should each fill the role that's fits us best. Red Pill sets those roles based on gender stereo…

I agree with some Red Pill stuff. Where I tend to veer away from it is how set in stone gender roles can be within that community. I offered my relationship as an example where Red Pill philosophies have a place, but up to a point. (Example: friends come to me for practical advice, but BF for emotional validation. I'm sure you see the implications for child rearing.) Does Red Pill have room/commentary for "gender bender" relationships like mine? To put it another way.

Oh, fuck yeah! I thought I would hate monogamy, but I love it with him. I trust him more than anyone, except my Dad. (I'm kinda weird about my Dad. In a good way, of course.) I feel safe with my SO, even in my most vulnerable moments. I've seen him go through extreme changes, but the core of who he is, why I trust him and why I love him hasn't even faded. (We're only 5 years in, though, admittedly.) Yeah, I get frustrated sometimes. We disagree. I like the way we work through those kinds of thin…

How do Red Pill men/ladies feel about the Tea Consent approach to consent? (It's a 3 minute long cartoon.) I'm an Autistic lady. The BF is the more nurturing one and I'm the robot, to put it crudely. I'm a stay at home lady, though. We compliment each other well, but half of our "expected" roles appear to be reversed. How do relationships like ours (Red Pill in some ways, blue pill in others) fit in a Red Pill worldview? i.e. If we have kids, should we try to switch those "nurturing" type roles,…

It sounds like you are overlooking the role your own insecurity/fear of rejection may have played in shaping your worldview. One teenage girl thinks guys are perverted, that doesn't mean we all do. I had the opposite perspective and couldn't spot creeps effectively for a long time because of it. Are we using different definitions for the word "feminist"? Feminism is typically described as : the belief that men and women are entitled to equal rights. That's the one I'm using.

Looks are a bonus feature for me. I've dated guys that were the opposite of what I find physically attractive based on personality/behavior. So, to clarify, my current BF does have the face/body type I prefer, but his personality, tastes, and behaviors are why I am dating him. His scrumptious silhouette is just a nice coincidence. One off-hand comment isn't harassment. Harassment is a pattern of behavior. I think the fear of being accused of harassment based on one misinterpreted comment is an overblown one. A pattern of "off hand comments" sounds like someone is being inappropriate at work and not wanting to admit it to themselves. I also don't like how the article toes the notion that people who are not overtly attractive are somehow immune to those sorts of things. I mean, my goatee didn't protect me from sexual assaul…

So why not argue that rape accusations should be held to the same standard as any other accusation instead of an over simplified "we shouldn't believe women cuz they lie"?

Was that how you were treated when you reported a crime? What leads you to believe women who are raped are not also asked "a ton of questions"? I was asked questions by the detectives and had evidence taken from my phone. I was then asked follow up questions based upon that evidence. Dr. Ford was questioned on national TV. Where are you getting this information that women are not questioned?

Annnd the term romantic relationship? How about platonic, polyamorous, casual, or exclusive? Yes, "if you're mate shopping." But that's not why myself or SO chose an open as opposed to a closed or exclusive relationship. "Relationship" does not imply monogamy. "Business relationship" as a term would not make sense if it did.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/18 11:08 PM

It could mean "a better mate than the one I am currently considering," just as easily. This is exactly why I was so specific in my wording earlier. It helps when people don't know each other.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/18 09:15 PM

I wanted to be thorough in describing my own situation to OP since he doesn't know me from Adam. I chose to err on the side of overly descriptive, as people conveying ideas through text alone sometimes do. "Let's talk about open relationships." "My relationship was open, I'll talk," to paraphrase OP and my first comment. Does that make sense?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/18 08:13 PM
0

I thought my situation was a typical open relationship. I knew it was an uncommon overall relationship type but never viewed it as an uncommon "open" relationship. So I'm not sure what "You know what normal is, you know your situation wasn't" is referring to.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/18 07:48 PM
1

That sounds awfully close to "anything that counters what I said doesn't count." He also keeps asserting that those hypotheticals aren't "the norm" while not citing what the norm is. All he can tell us is "those aren't it." There's a difference between wanting a discussion and wanting to dismiss everyone that threatens your worldview that I think may be lost on OP.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/18 07:42 PM
2

Define "better." Is this an emotionally open relationship or just physically? When I was in an open relationship (over 10 years) we were emotionally bonded to each other and viewed sex as a hobby, more or less. We were open from Day 1...how the hell does that fit in to your theory? Or are you just going to keep saying "that's a rare hypothetical" until you feel like you've "won"?

If you have $10-20 invest in a garter belt, too, the stockings are probably gonna droop a bit through the day and they really serve a function.
