Agree. But the way he reacted, shouting down like a kid who bullies then when someone smacks him for once he takes his ball to go home? I don't think that's Co duct befitting one of the 9 most powerful people in the court system

Not the sub for religious debate, but I see these "witches" in the same category as a magic sky dude who made everything in a week but had to rest, needed a rib to make a woman, and don't ou fucking dare get tats or jerk off! Point is, who cares? It's not going to do any more to him than the eucharist

Eagles of Death Metal is really more of a parody or tongue in cheek rock group, it's Josh Homme and another guy who was in Kyuss with him before Queens of the Stone Age

He could've turned it around on them, claiming he was Transgender and he was going there for self-love and how DARE those cissies oppress xe!

You know, I've been on the fence for as long as I've been in the MRM about intactivism, seeing it as among the lower end of our issues we need to tackle (it's still about halfway down my list tbh) but after reading this, I've changed. Unless your son chooses it himself, or you're extremely religious, zero reason to do this.

It was too late for me, but it's going to save a young man everything. He might not even know it.

I really like this piece. It's non-confrontational, without being conceding. It's balanced, while still presenting the valid views of the MRM. This wouldn't be a bad introductory article to show people who are just beginning to doubt the feminist paradigm of society.

Crazy to think the best way for a man to get justice just might be to go on Judge Judy!

I do enjoy the "There was no possible way I could leave/he raped me" line. Oh, you couldn't get up and go, call a cab? It wasn't until I heard many women talking like this that I realized the importance of the ASD.

If I can just add something too. Last fall, I was kicked out of college for being falsely accused for sexual assault. I thought my world was over. I went from one of the most prestigious liberal arts schools in the nation to finding work a minimum of 45+ minutes away from where my parents live just to avoid seeing people I knew. I was even rejected from a fairly low-quality public university near me, which was most devastating of all. I ran out of hope. But early last December, right before my b…

I think it was a great choice, actually. If a strong, (stereotypically) masculine guy like The Rock can be crippled like depression, who can't? It definitely shows that even the mightiest of men have feelings too!

And it has my favorite thing feminists say—that when Shailene Woodley says she's not a feminist, it's clearly because she doesn't know what they are, not because she actually isn't one.

It saddens me how many people mistakenly believe that Americans, or most citizens for that matter, have some right "to not be offended."

While I despise policies that label certain words and speech "Offensive" or even ban it, at least Duke seems to be treating this speech code trend with some equality.

Nobody else seemed to pick this up from the article, but the male student was "removed from campus housing:" AKA, kicked off campus, without so much as a shred of any evidence pointing towards his guilt. The same thing happened to me, and I spent a week in a motel before I too was expelled from my university.

I actually went to highschool with one of these girls. On her facebook page, she posts things that are far more typical feminist nonsense material. But I do admit, this article is better than most about college sexual assault.

You are correct when you say women want to be considered victims. Honestly who wouldn't? Given how Western society generally coddles and bends over to aid "victims", given the opportunity to label oneself as a victim I bet most people would jump at the chance.

Oh I was thrown out, and the "hearing" is now the subject of a lawsuit. Interestingly enough, another former student of my university had the same attorney as I do, but unfortunately he decided to withdraw his complaint. But the attorney assures me that I actually stand a better chance than he did of winning the lawsuit and bringing the issue to the attention of the student body.

I was lucky to be able to "transfer" to a new school, where I'm hoping to start a new student's rights group. I'm close with the Dean of Student Affairs (part of my admission was that I meet with them twice a month), and I hope one day in the future here to change some of the rules and wording in our student handbook, not only to protect the accused, but make it easy for alleged victims. It is a bit of a tightrope.

People always assume you have the right to be believed-- you do not. You have the right to have your story heard by police, and to be treated with respect. The police can choose to investigate or not.

Thanks for that link. It's good stuff. I just filed a lawsuit last week, but of course there's not any real hope for a complete turn-around. Sadly, I was only in school for 5 weeks, so most people have already forgotten about me...

It's disturbing how similar my case was to his. Fortunately, I was allowed to ask questions to my accuser, but that clearly didn't do anything.

I totally understand this. The young women who falsely accused me was the initiator, and I just went with it because I was all "Hell yeah, college! A girl wants to do stuff to mine? Why not?" I even thought about the consent: "Well, if she's the one pushing this further, this must mean consent..." Even if they seem happy at the time, remember, they can always come back on you.

My case will hopefully be in courts soon. I'm going through the same situation as OP. It's actually disturbing how colleges and universities are allowed to treat accusations of sexual assault. Check out FIRE and read a summary of the Dept. of Education's open letter to colleges from a few years back regarding the handling of sex offenses. Anyone who has some basic understanding of our rights as citizens will be sickened.

Reminds me a lot of when Clarence Thomas was being nominated for the supreme court. This women came forward and said he had assaulted her or something like that. Fortunately, they were able to figure out she only had some professional grudge against him and didn't want him to succeed. Figures.

Legally speaking, I'm sure they're not supposed to. In reality.... Well, I was always taught to assume that if there is a benefit for someone to lie, cheat and steal, they will.

I just think it's another feminist trump card to be played during debates, discussion, etc. like patriarchy.

Am I the only one who noticed there wasn't a single man in a debate about MEN? If this was a debate about the future of women without a single female on the panel, we'd have articles, post and retweets for years.

Yeah! Turns out the university had somehow paid off the prosecutor to get the players thrown in jail to justify their expulsions.

They get away with it by saying that (at least, in my case) you are a part of a private group, and by law they only have to give you the right to face your accuser, and due process of some sort. There's no specific definition of due process, so it's really, really, really hard to prove it wasn't good enough. Presumption of guilt is even harder. In my case, there was no egregious violation of rights, just a bunch of subtle, little hints. They covered their tracks damn well.

Talk to some of your friends, male and female. See if you can't get a small crew together to go talk to somebody in the administration, even if it's not your principal. In high school, we found that our principal was much more likely to bow to group pressure, especially if that groups seemed to represent a large cross-section of the student body.

I don't think I've ever seen one actual instance of a victim-blaming headline. Every time I google it or try to find these articles, instead I find this kind of piece: an article that complains about victim-blaming but doesn't actually show such examples. I know as a well-versed MRA that victim blaming is not really an actual occurrence, but could someone PLEASE try to show me a headline that could be described as victim blaming?

Yeah man. I was sanctioned cause some girl accused me of rape. No real evidence, he said/she said. Our higher education judiciary systems are farcical. I know mine was.

Right now I'm just trying to get this erased. Studying abroad is less then ideal for me, but I'm not closing any doors right now.

Having been expelled from university on false rape allegations, I know this pain right now. My former institution refuses to erase my record as my lawyer threatened them to, and until then I will be unable to go to a place of the same caliber like where I was until they erase that. Might even end up going overseas where they might not ask. Or lie. Either way, I will get my degree, even if it takes me 8 years.

I can't believe the university would do nothing to discipline her after the police proved it was false. Oh wait, yes I can.
