Invite him to a study group. Bring an extra coffee to class and give it to him. Bake something, such as cookies, "Oh, I made cookies this weekend and wanted to share with friends, enjoy!" Another trick would be to bring some extra lunch and share. From there you can gauge if his interest is heating up or cooling off. If you give him cookies (or some other baked food you excel at) and he doesn't get the message, he's not ready. Asking him out on a date is a big production. Asking him casually if …

Thank you for the clarification.

Are you seeking a tradwife and she violated your perception of her? 1.5 yrs seems a bit long if she was your right person. I'm having trouble figuring out the problem. Were you seeking permanence and she let you down with this act? I'd say let it go and move on if she isn't someone you see in your life long-term. Am I taking crazypills or is this married Red Pill?

Commented above but if your primary anxiety symptoms are heart palpitations and sweating, it might be worth exploring betablockers. I found them to be a winner for my anxiety, which is all chest-based. They aren't habit forming, they aren't psychoactive or sedating, they don't need to be taken consistently to work (though they do take longer to work than traditional anxiety meds and work better as a preventative vs acute fix). I take a betablocker the morning before big days and it helps so, so …

This is not medical advice, but I have had a lot of relief from anxiety-induced heart palpitations with the use of occasional betablockers. They are not habit forming, they are not psychoactive, they are safe for driving and all normal activities. Being able to short circuit the pounding chest and sweaty moments has given me so much more confidence and I'm finding myself able to breathe through tough moments even without betablockers now. YMMV, but when I reached an exhaustion level with introsp…

It's gotten out of control now, but Google "sandwich + feminist". The gist is that we should be offended about making them.

We laugh so hard about sandwiches and their greater meaning in these circles. Sandwich of the now: pimento cheese, pickled sweet peppers, turkey, ham, sliced tomato and cilantro-jalapeno mayonnaise on flattened white hoagie roll then toasted on a grill pan. The mayo is easy -- diced pickled jalapenos, cilantro and lime juice added to whatever you normally use.

I write encouraging or funny messages on the windows/mirrors in the bathroom with a tiny bit of soap on my finger, so when it steams up for his shower and he steps out he sees something to brighten his day. Not to be a troll, but I like to make surprise sandwiches for him when he's working around the house or yard. I toast the bread, melt the cheese, do the condiments just right and then cut and wrap it up nicely in a paper towel so that he can eat it without his dirty hands touching the food. I…

Excluding a job candidate based on gender or age might be cause for discrimination. Always strive to hire the best candidates and you have nothing to defend other than your company's best interests in preventing a possible discrimination suit. Your wife asserting your company practices this kind of discrimination at her behest could open you to legal risk. This isn't something she should be permitted to brag about, even to her friends. Small town, why take the risk? There you go. Drop this and m…

What my husband and I do: we sail together. Perhaps take lessons and work toward the goal of having a boat. It really underscores the whole "first mate" principle beautifully.

Maybe work on a remodeling project for your home or your back yard. A easy one might be doing some landscaping and making a nice area to grill out. Or, you could work together to make a nice home office out of a spare room.

I am working on ending my need to be "right" and correcting him. On one hand I've realized that it matters not who is right or wrong (unless matter of life or death, which you know happens ALLLL the time, right?), and my behavior only serves to make me feel artificially important while he feels disrespected. Last night when coming home late to a new house on vacation (which he lovingly planned and paid for) he gave me instructions for how to lock the front door. When I fiddled with it for an unb…
