I hope there won't have to be lawsuits for this law to cover men's birth control, but I guess we will find out. More access to birth control seems to be a benefit to everyone, IMO.

If you have insurance, you insurance company may choose to cover birth control pills, generally with a copay. The new law would force all insurance companies to cover the birth control pill. That is the point of the legislation. Only prescription drugs are covered by insurance, so condoms are not covered. I didn't say I agreed with this policy, but that is the way it is. How would you know? It cost me $96 to get a prescription for birth control. Just to get the prescription. This was at Planned Parenthood, which has lower fees than most. I can afford it; many people can't. For the same price, if I chose to pay, I could get 300 condoms.

You live in Scotland, OThomson. Last time I checked, the Obama healthcare plan doesn't go into effect in Scotland until...ever. Birth control is not offered for free to women in America, but condoms are, which would be the relevant issue regarding the new plan.
