Just to be clear, AF/BB is TRP’s bastardization of David Buss’s research and theories on dual mating strategies. One way TRP likes to frame AF/BB is that a woman will have kids with Chad and then find nice beta to settle down with and support those kids. Another way is that women will simply have a lot of wild casual sex with various Chads (cock carousel) before settling down with a beta. Buss’s actual theory is that both men and women participate in short and long term mating strategies and mat…

I think it’s because the 2000s were dominated by more form fitting clothing and since fashion seems to work on a 30 year cycle we’re swinging back to the bulkier fits of the 80s and 90s

Could it be that (1) there are more men than women at the gym and/or that (2) the women are more shy about asking for help?

Maybe this is just the typical “kids these days” routine but I used to hear the older male trainers at the gym complain about the ~18-22 year olds, mainly that they would sit on equipment using there phones when there might be someone waiting to use it. Or that the trainers felt like asking politely for them to do something wasn’t effective and they just had to bark orders. There were a lot of these kids since it was a college town.

Don’t disagree but they were organized around a much more coherent ideology that can be debated. I’m not always sure what the youths now consider redpill but it seems more like general disgruntlement.

So much of the community now associates TRP with the Tate brothers or sneako or other nebulous “redpill” content that sprang out of the old subreddit/forums and have never even heard of any anyone like Rollo. Sometimes that makes it hard to understand what we’re even talking about.

Differences in sentencing and how domestic violence and sex crimes are treated are all valid points about the justice system. But to say that men aren’t generally more violent than women is absurd. Not only do they make up the vast majority of arrests for violent crime but psychological studies have consistently demonstrated that men are more prone toward physical violence and aggression from a young age.

I don’t know about men in general but I know how I feel about individual men complaining about specific circumstances. I knew a guy who was in his mid 20s, obese, lived with his parents, didn’t get out much, had no job or career path And then he would complain when the only girls he matched with on hinge were fat…. Like I’m sorry but also I don’t have that much sympathy for you dude.

One of the biggest problems with the red pill is that it just doesn’t listen to women. Yeah that’s by design Why is she dating that asshole? Again, the actual redpill addresses this head on. Feminism exists because society didn’t listen to women Now that’s somewhat true. British women lead the charge in the early anti-slavery movement but they couldn’t speak publicly or before parliament on the issue because it was considered immodest. Frustration over this hindrance gave rise to the feminist mo…

There’s so much to unpack here. - Just because someone wants marriage and kids doesn’t mean it just magically happens. If men could snap their fingers and have a partner this sub along with the entire manosphere would not exist. - owning a home is great but not a mandatory prerequisite for marriage and kids - if they’re as broke as you describe I don’t think anyone is going to make their partner be a stay at home parent, though I have seen this situation where the family is on food stamps. I think it’s always fair to say someone could have chosen better because that’s basically always true. No one gets through life making the most optimal choice for their situation every single time, or even a minority of the time. For example: “You probably could have made a better choice with the information you had at the time.” “This bad choice was one in a series of bad choices. You should f…

What is the question exactly? Are you asking why it’s bad for one partner to be more dominant than the other or two make more money than the other in a committed relationship? Are you asking why it’s bad for an employer/employee or student/teacher relationship to become sexual?

See the trash seems like one of the easier “threshold” questions because if it’s full/overflowing and you can’t fit anymore it’s time to go out. But I also don’t put this just on men because I’ve had a lot of female roommates who would just keep piling things on top instead of taking it out.

These are still traditionally masculine traits, and are still expected exclusively of men. With five seconds of observation you can see that most competent women functioning in society as employees, business owners, volunteers, etc. are perfectly capable of initiative, communication, responsibility, and so on. It doesn’t make sense to apply those traits specifically to a dating market which doesn’t incentivize them.

Side note: I actually don’t think as many men are doing their own regular vehicles maintenance as they’d like to claim. I’ve changed my own oil before, it’s a pain in the ass and half the cost of paying to have it done is the oil itself anyway so you don’t save that much money. Tire rotation? Also a pain in the ass considering the business I bought the tires from has an automatic lift and will do it for free. And so on. A common refrain I hear from complaints from women about being sex objects is that men are “success objects” and prioritizing a man’s earning potential is just as objectifying. So I’m led to believe that if a man gets a job he’s selling his body to his boss.

The terms you’re explaining are basically intersectional feminism/ critical theory. You can understand something and also think its reasoning is flawed. The OG redpill was influenced heavily by the work of David Buss, not a sociologist but an evolutionary psychologist. That’s actually where terms like “mate guarding” and “long/short term mating strategies” come from.

It’s an interesting question. I think marriage is idealized by everyone to some extent, but also men and women probably generally have different ideal visions of what that marriage is. Disappointment comes from your expectations not aligning with reality. If more women than men are disappointed then i guess women are expecting too much from a marriage. Anecdotally, shortly after we got married by father in law told my husband “now that you’re married she’ll just start improving your life, go wit…

It’s okay to say that of society (generally, modern developed western society) but important to not attribute to entirely to human nature on some base level. Ever heard of the Seige of Suiyang? The army garrisoned in the fort killed and ate every last woman, child, and elderly man before they would surrender, because loyalty to the dynasty was more important than any notion of individual human life or even an individual family unit. …Miniature banker? Anyway, I never read or watched the 50 shades series but my understanding is that by the second or third book he’s totally committed to her and they get married and the BDSM stuff is just the spice? I think a lot of these romance novels whether they’re the classic paperbacks or the post-tumblr ebooks follow a similar pattern. Like yes the ultimate female fantasy is a powerful man who she can tame. Real people rarely conform to fantasies.

That 50% stat is more like 10% for couples with breadwinner husbands. But regardless, I don’t know why you keep making this about something it’s not. My impression is simply that if you pick a random SAHM and a random SAHM, you’ll find that they are operating on wildly different levels.

Much of the increase in maternal mortality rates comes from the introduction of a pregnancy checkbox on death certificates Regardless, we’re hand wringing about like 12 deaths per 100,000 versus 19 when the mortality rate at the beginning of the 20th century was in the hundreds per 100,000 births. The adoption of antibiotics in the 50s and 60 was revolutionary. And wealth does not have an impact on how many children people have

And since it’s my second I know that there are just different challenges on the other side of birth. It all comes down to this: What’s easier, to change something about yourself, or to fundamentally change human nature, society, biology etc.? It might feel good if someone responds to your difficulty getting a date with “it’s not your fault, we should upend society so that you can get a date” but it’s not going to happen overnight and therefore won’t help you. “Maybe you should try x, y, or z” probably feels shitty and frustrating but it might at least get you somewhere.

So left-wing parties repeat these talking points about the pink tax and wage gap because it’s politically advantageous and party members absorb them uncritically because they trust the …

You could say modern society has lost touch with this practice (like where I live Quinceñeras are a huge deal for girls) but traditionally rites of passage/ coming of age ceremonies have been very common for boys. In fact Jordan Peterson (whatever you think of him) has theorized that these ceremonies have historically been especially important for young men BECAUSE they don’t undergo some light-switch-esque puberty marker like menstruation to mark their adulthood.

I’ve seen guys date women just because they’re conventionally attractive and feminine but they then deal with a lot of the stereotypical relationship drama you might expect from a Stacy-esque hot girl. Not saying you should seek out “ugly” girls but sometimes what we think we should want and what we really want are two different things. A 10/10 you can’t hold a conversation with loses its luster pretty quickly.

Because my husband has a very straightforward Type A personality while my family tends to be very passive aggressive and neurotic. But that was something that I liked about him and his family, that they could yell over one another and argue and then make up. No silent treatment or storming off, they’re just more laid back and forgiving. So yeah there was a bit of a “culture clash” initially.

There’s a fair question to be asked about the value of these tasks. If my husband lived alone he would let dirty clothes pile up until he literally had nothing left to wear. Then he would either pull out just what he needs to wash or wash it all and have to dig through the laundry basket of clean clothes to find what he needs for the next several weeks because he’s not going to take time to sort and put away laundry. But because he lives with me and I run a load when the hamper is full and then …
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 03:04 PM

For me it’s quite the opposite. After a full day of work I’ll cook and clean the kitchen and tidy up and do yard work and wrangle our toddler into bed and my husband will never even think to look up from whatever recreational thing he’s doing. It simply doesn’t bother him, assuming he even notices what’s happening. If I’m relaxing and he starts doing something productive I get anxious, like I need to help or do something similarly productive.

My parents were reluctant to accept the man I married but I also don’t think they would want an active role in “vetting” any partners. I think that has more to do with their personalities than anything though. In the modern west I think there’s kind of subtle approach to your kids’ significant others. Most parents don’t feel like they can or should overtly say you shouldn’t date someone, but you can also definitely pick up on how they feel about them.

Regular cardio and strength training can improve mood and sleep, boost metabolism, relieve stress, manage weight, improve stamina, and lower blood pressure. Over the long term you’ll face a lower risk of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes and see improved bone density, cognitive resilience, and joint stability. If you’re obese there’s really nothing in your body that won’t fuck up, and even if you’re not obese exercise is still good for you. So that’s the point.

There’s no moralizing about it. It just comes down to this: are you successful or not? If not, can you do something about it or is it everyone’s responsibility besides your own? In theory that’s what the redpill was supposed to be. All the resentment was handwaved away as the anger phase. In reality the “anger phase” is what keeps it alive, not self-improvement.

Sex isn’t going to sustain the marriage long term, because that’s only one half of why marriage exists in the first place (the other half being the children sex produces), but that doesn’t mean it isn’t an important foundation. That said, people talk about 80/20 in the context of female attraction but I really think that the historically optimal social setup for men is that 80% of women are respectable marriageable “Madonnas” and then they have fun with the 20% of whores on the side.

I don’t know a ton about my parents’ dating life before they met but it sounds like my dad was a burnout and my mom was an insecure ugly duckling. I met my husband in college and eloped at 23 which was crazy and rebellious by their standards.

I actually don’t think the birth rate is a factor in the pro-life movement. I’m just disputing that the result of abortion restrictions will be abstinence. Highly doubt.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/26 01:34 PM

Yes, in Texas there were 255 more infant deaths in 2022 over 2021 and many of those were babies with severe congenital defects. But there were also somewhere between 5 and 8 thousand more births.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/26 01:30 PM

Effective birth control has completely changed the way developed countries think about family formation. /r/PurplePillDebate30/05/26 12:25 PM

In theory men are the more ideal employee compared to women due to the taxing and time consuming nature of childbirth. In practice that doesn’t seem to be hurting women’s overall employment rate. And of course it depends on the individual.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/26 12:16 PM

There’s actually been an increase in the number of live births per year in states that introduced heartbeat bills. Hard to say if that was just a continuation of an existing trajectory and jt will decline in the coming years, or how much of an effect the de facto abortion ban really has on that number.

I’ve been out of the dating game long enough I don’t think I could accurately say. But in a dating market where men and women are pursuing each other, the problem is necessarily two-sided. Takes two to tango.

Sure, but not everyone can be thoroughly educated in all things. Political polls exist to gauge public perception of candidates or topics, that doesn’t mean the individuals they poll are educated on those topics, and yet the data is still valuable.

Supporting “women’s education and professional advancement” as you rephrased it is not discrimination against men. Supporting “policies that encourage hiring/promoting women, female only scholarships” as OP initially asked does necessarily involve some discrimination against men. Why? Because if you have a diversity quota to meet (as was very common in 2010s Silicon Valley and beyond prior to more recent enforcement of federal law) and you’re looking at those two candidates I mentioned earlier t…

To be fair, it’s tricky because the definition of “feminist” is so fuzzy. The average millennial normie just says “yeah I guess im a feminist because I believe in equal right for women.” They may not realize they’re sharing that term with the intersectional reddit-mod-Instagram-infographic feminist.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 01:23 PM

No I’ve never asked those questions on Reddit because it’s a waste of time. Personally, I’ve never defended self-described feminists. Usually my criticism on this sub is that some men will use “feminist” and “woman” interchangeably, which muddies the waters and conveniently assumes the most extreme views are held by all women. It would be like using “men” and “redpillers” interchangeably.

This entire post presupposes that whatever constitutes the leadership of the feminist movement at this point HAS any interest, purported or genuine, in addressing uniquely male issues. They don’t. I’ve watched a very sexually and romantically forward woman in the wild, and I would agree that she actually was not all that successful with men. I think it was just so weird to the guys that she flirted with it was off-putting, like what’s the catch? She was desperate to the point of it being awkward. But I would also say she had more success initially before she developed a bad reputation within that community and guys started to avoid her.

Who is shaming men for being responsible adults who happen to be single? I see men get shamed for being single losers I see men get shamed for being single deadbeat dads But men who mind their own business, are employed and self sufficient, reasonably healthy and attractive and just choose to be single? I’m not sure I even see hate for that type of voluntarily single woman. Neither are really the type of people to draw attention to themselves.

There’s a lot that could mean. It could mean the sexual relationship is so new that the two haven’t had the conversation about a romantic relationship yet. It could mean there are a lot of lies by omission. Some people are masters at saying things that are technically true but which imply something untruthful. But no, I don’t think you’re obligated to announce your intentions when you first meet someone because you may not know your own intentions.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/26 12:04 PM

I think some men lean into their identity as a provider so much they don’t necessarily thing about the interpersonal relationship. Take Elon Musk: does he have the means to financially care for his gazillion children? Absolutely. But there’s no way he can be an active part of each of their lives, which has had and will have major repercussions.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/26 11:59 AM

No, you’re not obligated to be in a relationship you don’t want. But can we at least agree that stringing someone along is a cousin to ghosting someone, in that they both involve an unwillingness to honestly communicate? Really the question is: do you as a human being have a moral obligation to but truthful and communicate with others clearly?

One way of looking at positive masculinity is simply that it’s traditional masculinity. Then of course we get into the stalemate of “I won’t be traditionally masculine/feminine if you won’t be traditionally feminine/masculine!” But it’s also worth noting that out in the real world women embrace motherhood, beauty standards, submissiveness (as loaded as that word is), and domestic roles (by necessity) all the time.

You specifically said “young men were not a priority until the red pill came along.“ Not true. The activities of young men were of great interest long before 21st century Internet forums.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 08:55 PM

I asked Grok to search historical records for a concern about lonely listless young men. Here are some excerpts: **Ancient Rome (Augustan Era, late 1st century BC–early 1st century AD)** Emperor Augustus enacted moral legislation like the Lex Julia de Maritandis Ordinibus (18 BC) and Lex Papia Poppaea (9 AD) to promote marriage and childbearing among the upper classes while penalizing celibacy. Unmarried men (especially over 25) faced inheritance restrictions, could not fully receive legacies, a…

I don’t know if women behave any differently because we’re all human before we’re male/female (shocking, I know). The problem is when supremacists of any persuasion rationalize that their group is somehow above it.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 11:50 AM

In theory the old Redpill philosophy was supposed to include some stoicism and self sufficiency but in reality it usually just stoked the flames of entitlement and resentment, because blaming others is a lot easier than blaming yourself. Community leaders would address the problem by calling it “the anger phase” initiated had to go through to reach enlightenment on the other side. Problem of course is that many never left “the anger phase.”

As long as you’re a remotely attractive woman there is no way to escape objectification. Wearing sexy revealing clothing is a response to the male gaze. Wearing modest clothing is also a response to the male gaze. You ARE sexual object until you age out and that’s just what it is.

I had an ex I still hung out with for a while but we eventually lost contact. My husband dated a girl who broke things off but he continued to be good friends with her and her brother. She’s married now and we’re married now and they’re certainly family friends now. I think a Seinfeld/Elaine relationship is possible, just not for everyone.

The consensus seems to be that it’s bidirectional. Substance abuse and mental health problems often precede homelessness and the stress of homelessness exacerbates or triggers other issues. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25989002/

I think it’s because the people living in their cars or asking people for favors are in a fundamentally different situation than the people actually on the street. You typically don’t end up as what everyone calls homeless without serious mental health and/or drug problems.

Men and women are both guilty about assuming women are a monolith. And my favorite, both will use women and feminists interchangeably even though 61% of women identify to varying degrees as feminist, with only 19%…

Most women have no intention of ceding their right to vote in elections. At one point that was the core plant of the feminist platform, so does that make them 10% feminist?

Of course we as a society want to reward people who do good. But if I go volunteer at a soup kitchen and get pissy when the guests don’t drop to the floor and kiss my feet for being there then maybe I wasn’t all that nice and selfless to begin with. You have to have the humility to accept thatk kindness, decency, and civil service don’t guarantee praise or material rewards, but that they’re worthwhile anyway.

Most misogynists don't really hate women. In fact, they like them. They want to love women and be loved by them, they want to have realtionships, intimacy, families, children with them and live their lives alongside women. Having kids as a woman shouldn't be this difficult I think many men don't understand the plight of the women. How difficult it is to grow, birth, and care for an infant. There's just too much you have to do as a woman. Whereas for men, they just have to skeet. It's as simple for them. Yet they go on rant about how feminism ruined women and they don’t know their place anymore. Each sex has its cross to bear. The grass is always greener.

/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/26 05:50 PM

Because the truth is that it’s a huge no-no in that kind of space to exhibit anything approaching blunt honesty. Online female spaces rarely allow anything other than positivity and praise.

I can’t think of a person I hate so much or think is so evil I would kill them. There’s a reason we rely on a justice system, even one that’s flawed, rather than mob or vigilante justice.

Most I don’t know, but certainly many. I do think that invoking the male loneliness epidemic any time men do something you don’t like is like the new “toxic masculinity” and it keeps discussion of the problem from ever being specific enough to be useful.

That’s the problem though, the original questionnaire asked about all kinds of unwanted sexual contact, not just assault. But for years it’s been regurgitated as a simple “1 in 4 will be raped”

/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/26 03:12 PM

In general I agree that people love to run with data that is misleading at best, like the gender pay gap or the idea that 1 in 4 women will be raped in their lives. Both claims are misleading and/or based on bad methodology. But idk…. If you asked me whether I would murder someone in a totally hypothetical situation where I knew I would never be caught… I think I would still have some morals that would prevent me from even considering that. 🤨 “Men would rape but ONLY in a hypothetical situation …
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/26 03:10 PM

I’m sure feminine temperaments do lean more collectivist and masculine temperaments do lean more individualist. But I think the current divide in American politics has more to do with who each party has directly appealed to for decades. The democrats basically positioned themselves to be the default party of anyone considered disadvantaged- women, LGBT, POC, etc. Even if individuals might have more conservative leanings on certain issues, the left will always seem like home base, the safe bet. /r/PurplePillDebate08/01/26 05:17 PM

We have to some extent. People go Dutch. Honestly most of the peacocking I’ve seen men do wasn’t asked for by the women they’re trying to woo. They just have the vague, you could even say biological, urge to get her attention.

You don’t have to choose to be with a man for your body to be coveted by men. That’s out of your control. A woman might choose not to have kids but that doesn’t change the fact that so much of her physiology and psychology are primed for children. Girls learn from an early age that their body will do gross, involuntary, and painful things out of their control, like menstruate, in preparation for something they can’t understand and which doesn’t require her understanding. I’m just saying, there’s…

29 which I guess is ancient for the churn of 19 year olds on this sub
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/26 07:42 PM

I maintain that women do not care about penis size as much as men do. Women only hurl size-related insults because they know it’s a sore spot. Why do men care so much? My best guess is that it’s as simple as “mine is bigger than yours.” Male competitiveness applied to something very intimate. Partner experience is secondary at best. Sorry you’re spiraling OP.

Global data on marriage and divorce Divorce rates have been trending down in many places but so have marriage rates. I’m starting to see more on the correlation between higher fertility rates and positive opinions about children, basically if you view children as a blessing rather than a burden you’re more likely to have them and have more of them.

It simply means that sex in itself is a big deal to most women, no matter how much she’s into the guy. It could mean she doesn’t want to be that physically and emotionally vulnerable with someone she just met.

You used to this language a lot in r/marriedredpill and r/RedPillWomen and some of it has leaked out into the mainstream over time. Men are “Captains” and women are “First Mates” who are submissive but submission is a beautiful voluntary thing, and so on and so forth. The men who talk about things like submissiveness and cooperation can be sorted into two categories: Those who really mean it in the literal sense and apply it to all male/female relationships, not just their personal relationship.…
