I was 19, he was 22. We’ve been married 21 years this summer. We met at 15 and 18 years old. Best advice I ever received was from my sister in law. She said to wait three years before having kids. Best advice - for us, anyway. Spend those early years really enjoying life. When kids come along, your priorities change and you do life different. For us, it gets exciting to think how we will once again be able to do all sorts of adventurous stuff once we’re empty nesters. However, we have those earl…

When we both worked, he made more money, but not by much; he probably made five to seven percent more than I. I’ve never ‘expected’ my husband to do anything. I don’t think he has ever ‘expected’ or required of me either. We just do. I think I would have felt negatively about my husband if we were both working full time outside the home and yet I had to do the lion’s share of housework. I can’t say for sure, but I am fairly certain we would have had some words over that. We are in this thing cal…

I am a SAHM as well. I’ve been married 20 years. When I was employed my husband and I banded together and did what needed done. I took the kids to daycare; he picked them up. Some nights I cooked, some he did. We both did chores and grocery shopped. Divide and conquer you could say. I’ve been a SAHM for the better part of 13 years now. I (and the children) take care of the house. We do everything from taking out the garbage to cleaning toilets. We occasionally mow the lawn. My husband actually e…

Along with Laura Doyle’s book, another good book is “I Want Sex He Wants Fries” by Rebecca Watson. Your husband’s apathy could possibly be low-T related. Whether or not it is, The book is an eye opener. Also, of course, Mindful Attraction Plan by Athol Kay.

I’ve recently been diagnosed with Adenomyosis (that is severe) and possible endometriosis. Exercise has always helped me feel better. Not sure if there’s any scientific evidence or anything, but I swear that sweating and getting your heart rate up purges your body. Add fitness to your diet regimen. If you can find a body weight/ parkour gym, you’ll probably feel less self conscious about working out. It’s a different vibe when you work out with body weight buffs rather than fitness/aerobic peopl…

I’m thinking we are alike. I’m a praying person as well. To God be the glory that I didn’t end up divorced at one point. I hope you find answers ❤️

That head game will mess with ya. Gets me every time. Crazy how we women have to be emotionally AND physically into it. I’ve been married 20 years. With my husband for 23. We’ve had our fair share of one or the other not being into it. As for lusty thoughts; I kick any out as well. Lust, erotica and whatnot are NOT for me. However, once upon a time, about six years ago, I was in your spot in a way. Back then, the MMSL Forum was active and I was asked many of the same questions I asked you. I’m n…

That’s quite a predicament you’re in. You mentioned being on SSRIs. Unfortunately, those can cause a huge loss of libido. My husband started suffering from lack of drive and orgasm around year seven. Thankfully, he was up for weaning to a lower dosage. I felt so unwanted. I imagine your husband feels unwanted. I know you don’t think that. Likely, it’s the SSRIs. Then the circle of worry and anxiety about not wanting sex doesn’t help! If it’s the SSRI, perhaps wean yourself to a lower dose. Go sl…

I do! It works with ground beef as well if you’re in for a more frugal meal. I’ll use ground beef if I have to feed all my teenagers’ friends! 😁 https://noblepig.com/2011/05/vietnamese-style-beef-with-garlic-black-pepper-and-lime/

I have a large family of six; DH, myself, two teens and two elementary aged kids. It is starting to get chilly here and soup just feels so good. This week we are eating homemade broccoli cheddar soup with salad and bakery baguettes; Slowcooker pork carnitas and chunky fillings such as avocado, pico de gallo and salsa; Vietnamese beef on rice, making a huge batch of rice and use leftover rice for chicken fried rice another night; potato soup and cheddar biscuits; and finally, we will likely do a …

Haven’t heard of Family Alpha. I’ll have to send hubby to check it out. Too bad Athol’s forum isn’t active anymore. Literally saved my marriage. Good stuff coming from the people on there. I hope the OP can point her S/O in the right direction.

Was going to say Athol Kay. He’s written a couple books; the Primer is a must read for any male in a monogamous RP relationship. Hope this helps.

I’m nearly 40 with four children. I think that the best thing to do is to eat decently while pregnant. Also, if you feel your jeans getting a tad tight, lay off the calories. It’s much easier to loose or tone up a small bit than to have to do hard work after letting yourself go. Severe osteoporosis runs in my family. Strength training is the best way to start combatting it. I’ve begun strength training at a local gym with my 17 and 14 year old daughters. It’s a Ninja Warrior gym so my nine and f…
