I'm there with you. It's been nearly 2 years when I found this sun. 6 years of my wife controlling. Threaten divorce and treating me like shit. Zero intimacy. I wish you luck. Not sure if I'm weak or what, but still in this relationship. Tonite I got to massage her for 40 mins until she feel asleep. What an effing life.

Yes. I think 100% I gave it. I'm in the process of correcting that. Unfortunately we are not all strong in that arena. But working on it.

I asked my sister who is a lawyer to give me a referral today. And I agree. I'd love to have over 50% custody. My wife on bad days, she wouldnt hit, but would not put my daughter first. I've seen it.

You described my marriage to a tea. Being the dutiful husband in the beginning I would apologize and cry to win her back. And I realized a year ago...I'm not doing anything that justifies her nuclear response. I have to stop apologizing for things I didn't do. That gives her power. And I have stopped. I have had so many opps like right now to make a stand for fundamental respect and kindness as a must...but until now I have wavered. This time with my clothes thrown , her wedding ring in the sink…

Sorry to hear this. Glad we are all brothers in this, however. I pray it doesnt get dirty. I just want to be good to each other. That's it. Let's lead with kindness.

I hope if we continue on this path we can be amicable for the baby. But not confident

This is also really accurate. There is not accountability. Have I changed, sure. But, from my perspective, based on a defense mechanism to this behaviour.

When I read this, it struck a chord. I work in social services and a few years back had to do training to recognize abuse. My relationship has been emotional abuse from isolating me to gas lighting. I've kept my cool and will continue.

That's where Iam. I'm not leaving our home or changing banks. If it's going to divorce, we need to discuss that. Until then I live in the other room and continue to be there for my baby.

I wonder about this too. My wife makes over 40k usd more than I do. If I have to pay spousal support it will kill me. I'm all for splitting things for my daughter financially

It has felt that way to me too. Simple respect and kindness is all that I wanted.

Same to you. We often get in situations where we either isolate ourselves or were in relationships that forced isolation. The reality is male bonding is necessary. Thank you. I hope so too. Still dumbfounded.

It looks like I will be in your shoes soon. This is about you, so my story for another day. There has been some wise advice on this site, so keep reading. And brother, your lite has not dimmed. Keep positive and know you have support.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
