Your assertion that all feminists are radical feminists and therefore believe women can't rape men is absurd. Srs, againstmensrights, etc, believe that, but not the mainstream/average feminists of reddit. All mainstream feminists do is refuse to acknowledge that it's an issue worth resolving/putting money towards/considering at all important compared to their favorite issues.

really nice friendship Well wouldn't that suck. Seriously, there are lots of people out there who aren't in it for the sex, and some of them even see some value in just not having sex for varying reasons. If you can't accept it you're going to have to just move on. Go bang someone; it'll make you feel better.

You're using a whole lotta words to condone a sexist comment, but had the tables been turned and the statement had been "Men think," it probably would have been one of the top posts in this sub. That's a bold statement, and a poor prediction of how I would react to such a comment. Also, your comments haven't been downvoted into negative numbers. Since you're not interested in an adult conversation I'll just leave you like I would roadkill; uninterested an just slightly disappointed.

Yeah, seriously. That bit takes it from a decent statement to a heavily and irrationally conservative statement. Gender issues are bipartisan. And a lot of us are liberal.

Why do you specify 'all' women to refer to all women when you take the comment in question, which refers to an unspecified number of women, to refer to all women? 'Women' does not refer to a specific number of subjects. If we assume x is a variable for all words used to describe an unknown number of subjects, including men, dogs, cats, planes, cars, etc, we notice the statement "x thinks y, but it doesn't work that way," and/or "x does y, and that's harmful," makes sense. Your comment was in reply to a comment claiming that Feminist is such a broad label because of how long the term has be in use. There are radicals and moderates of both Feminism and the MRM. You didn't make the assertion that feminists should police each other, you just said So no feminists do that? Not only was that nor a rebuttal, is implies that if any feminists do something, feminists in general do something. Now no more red herring.

The problem is that the only way to write what you meant in a similar fashion to your original statement is to say exactly what you want to not mean. Humans, regardless of sex, aren't murderous rapists by default who have to make a choice not to murder and/or rape. Hell, we don't have to constantly make a choice not to do anything. Our most vital functions are involuntary, and beyond that we make conscious decisions to do things.

I'm all for that. Be smart with your money = good idea. I'm not for (because honestly, it's indicative of stupidity and ineptitude in debate) is dishonest representation of statistics, and sweeping generalizations that label a vast assortment of males of varying backgrounds as unintelligent if they are happy with a certain status.
/r/MensRights17/07/13 06:22 PM

I shudder to think of what you consider "very intelligent" since you've likely never encountered it. And I'll compare my CV to anyone here and it'll be much more impressive. I'll hang pork and win. This is the part where we all acknowledge your superiority over the internet, right? 45% doesn't lie either, but you do ignore the specifics of marriage statistics (women initiate the majority of divorces, what socioeconomic group is most likely to get a divorce, how many divorcees re-marry, etc.)
/r/MensRights17/07/13 05:13 PM

And also, there are very intelligent people who are married and quite happy with their partners.
/r/MensRights17/07/13 02:12 AM

True, but lots of religious people want to get married for religious(related) reasons. It's a reason some people get married that has nothing to do with legal advantage over another person-- but it's certainly not the cornerstone of my argument that people can get married simply because they fucking want to, and there's nothing wrong with that.
/r/MensRights13/07/13 07:10 AM
0

Ah. That wasn't my intention. I think every man should know that marriage can be used (easilly) to screw them over, but I don't think it's right to tell someone that the marriage they want to enter is inherently wrong.
/r/MensRights12/07/13 08:55 PM
-1

That's inherently false. Many people value marriage simply for marriage's sake. Many people have religious reasons to value marriage. I don't deny that there is a shitload of stuff wrong with marriage, and that all I can think of that is wrong with it disadvantages men. However, there is something shitty (and by shitty I mean irrational) with declaring the idiocy of thousands of happily married men, and denying that marriage is a viable option for anyone.
/r/MensRights12/07/13 08:51 PM

How does respecting someone's desires negate a simple suggestion to be smart with your finances, health, etc? Why must you resort to this to make your stance on marriage more valid than mine?

The circle jerk goes along the lines of "NO MAN SHOULD EVER GET MARRIED EVER BECAUSE THERE'S NO REASON TO EVER GET MARRIED EVER!" I believe pyrophobia is in reality a self-loathing of being burned, a refusal to accept yourself and an accompanying projected hate wherever you may see yourself. I believe to truly become and own the identity of un-charred you must release everything, engage in burning activities and emerge from the other side the same. I believe any reluctance to do so is a fear of having self-delusions or the imagined self shattered with incinerating temptation. An alternative would be that I am straight/not …

I'm on a 4-5,000 calorie diet, and I weigh 145 pounds. If I get sick for more than a week, subtract five by the end. To a certain extent, it really does depend on a person's biology. For me, Johnson's level of physical perfection is economically impossible, physically implausible (I eat a lot, but that is a lot), and the time it'd take me to consume/work that much is ridiculous.

The Internet was created by men, for men It was made as a tool for ye ol' military. It's evolved according to who throws time and money at it, and in many cases who's time+money=product is best. If you want a different internet with feminist approved porn, you're going to have to go make it yourself. Good luck; anything that could possibly hold a candle to the naturally evolving internet is going to be a bitch to make.

Instead of wrecking my already shitty bandwidth for you, take the number of men in the US and subtract by the number of men who commit rape; you'll find most men in the US haven't committed rape. I never said men have all the power, nor did I say, suggest, or imply anything about motivation. While we're nitpicking, I'll point out that I never mentioned you. I don't assume all feminists just scream patriarchy at every problem that exists. Thing is though, a lot of them do, and they are very popular; I just am careful not to commit hasty generalization fallacies.
/r/MensRights14/03/13 12:45 AM

But you see, that is secundum quid. The fact that the people in power are male does not mean males have all the power and want to put females in their place. There needs to be a lot more evidence and deductive reasoning than that if anyone is going to say without opposition/reasonable doubt that there is a sexist, biased patriarchy put in place by an overwhelmingly sexist male population. Osama Bin Laden was one of the most well-known Muslims. He hated America. Because Osama Bin Laden, one of th…

It is the poor reasoning, commonly called hasty generalization (secundum quid), used in arguments, generally by anti-MRA feminists, to suggest that the most popular (most viewed, most hated, most well-known) individuals of a movement (specifically the MRM) represent the average individual and ideology of said movement. It's wrong for all the reasons the common name and raw variables are wrong.
/r/MensRights13/03/13 09:15 PM

As I said in 'the other reply,' Apex fallacy is a specific example of hasty generalization, a very common and easily recognized logical fallacy. The The former is, when cited properly, interchangeable with the later. If it is necessary, I will personally use Hasty Generalization to call out bullshit instead of the newer specific example of the same fallacy, Apex Fallacy. Raising minimum wage decreases your utility, making you less valuable to employers. Employers will only employ workers as long as their expense is equal to or less than the revenue they provide/utility. Eventually, if a worker is more expensive and you are only willing/able to pay for x worker utility, you will be forced to pay less workers until cost/revenue levels out.

The fact that you displayed a male-specific barbaric behavior does not mean any shaming of you as an individual is equal to shaming the male sex. 1 on 1 relationships are a thing because they are stable, and humans have evolved to desire stability.
