1	How do you guys feel about the high rates of successful suicides among men and what factors do you think contributes to this? First off, I don’t think it’s an excuse to not help people, second off it doesn’t have to do with toxic masculinity, it has to do with mental health, third off, the UK has half the number of male suicides that the US has, which is pretty freakin significant to me. Our goal is that both men and women get the emotional aid and assistance that they need, and ignoring attempted suicide based on their gender isn’t the right path to equality. But other methods of attempted suicide, like cutting wrists, have less of a chance in resulting in a death, about 6% death rate. ODing is always going to be less dangerous than a bullet to the head. One factor that cannot be overlooked is the fact that women are more likely to attempt suicide while men are more likely to succeed. One key reasons for this is the fact that men are much more likely to use guns, one of the most successful ways that people commit suicide. Although only 1/6 of all suicide attempts come from guns, 1/2 of those that succeed are the result of guns. Fire arms are used in 10% of attempted suicides and 50% of successful suicides 2/3 of firearm deaths come from suicides An overwhelming majority of suicides come from sudden, irrational decision. If access to an easy source of death is taken away, it is much more likely it won’t happen.
