I agree! I (33f) appreciate men who respectfully approach me/my friends. The key is more knowing when the interest seems mutual and when to back off. I admit I have a couple female friends who will reject any cold approach rudely, and I just don’t understand that! If the guy is polite and sincere, that should be rewarded with at least some respect in return. Sometimes when this happens I call her out like “hey bitch, maybe I was interested in him!” Don’t get too discouraged. We all need confiden…

So, this routine will differ depending on where the interaction is taking place. If you are in an environment like a bar/restaurant, women sort of expect to be hit on so you don’t want to be too forward too quickly, unless you are really just cruising around for the first chick who will respond to that. Women also go out sometimes with the intention of going home with someone, so it just depends on what you’re looking for yourself. If you’re shopping at a store, you’ll want to approach with a li…

As a general rule women don’t respond exceedingly well to the abruptness of “you’re cute, thought I’d say hi” approach. It puts us on edge, like we are suddenly required to flirt back but were offered no choice or nuance. As a result, we make a quick decision: actively flirt back if we are as enamored as you are visually, or shut it down. The latter is more common. Directness is appropriate a little further into conversation, but opening with it just reeks of “I’d like to nail you.” Shyer types …

I think loyalty is possible in polyamory, but I’ve never seen legit polyamory work out for very long. I have witnessed several people in my life try it, most with good intentions (unfortunately I have been a part of a few really terrible attempts), but it seems ultimately someone always cheats or actually wants monogamy. Someone eventually lacks. I want to believe it’s possible, but it is an overall very unstable practice which requires a ton of concentrated awareness most people just aren’t equ…

Exactly. You can have an open relationship, and as long as boundaries are honored it can still be a loyal relationship. I was in an open relationship a few years ago that quickly became a cheating situation bc my boundaries were being tossed out the window. Sex with other people didn’t matter as much as the lying and breaking of agreements. Trust died and it all fell apart.

We’re just never going to see this topic in the same way. Best of luck ;)

And her history can have brought her to a point where she chooses monogamy, and her partner chooses the same.

Then why do “monogamous” people cheat? Monogamy is a series of choices and actions. It is an agreement. Choosing to be monogamous, and living by it, has nothing to do in a present relationship with past relationships. One can be true to it or not, in any moment.

Well, that is your opinion and I support you in attracting women who align with your values. One, two, three night stands aren’t uncommon at all though, especially in the OLD age, though I absolutely admit that’s not what most women idealize. We have our reasons for casual sex from time to time though, and it’s really no other potential partner’s business unless there is an STI or some kind of trauma as a result. I value longer-term relationships deeply, but I do not jump from one to the next. I…

Fair. Interesting though that women tend to be scared off by a man’s virginity, and men are scared off by a woman’s experience. Also, good on whatever men are admitting to having been with escorts! I suppose that can be a bit shocking to some women. Not all though.

I’m not saying they should pretend to be a blank slate. I’m saying it’s irrational to judge a woman’s romantic worth based on her past sexual experiences, bc what matters is where she is now and how she communicates with you romantically. She could have slept with 1, 10, or 100 men by the time she’s met you...I’ll bring it back to what’s important here. Do you like each other? Does she want monogamy? Does she have boundaries and listen to/respect yours? Do your values sync? If not, then no, fuck…

Sleeping with however many people in the past means very little in terms of a woman’s eligibility/desirability and what she may want and be capable of now. What is important is communication and boundaries. If you’re looking for a virgin who knows herself completely and is going to be a good partner to you, you may be looking for a long time brother.

That’s all very subjective I guess then and particular to your situation/environment. If you care so much about how many men your girl has slept with, then you’d better hope she cares in exactly the same way.

Women don’t forget who impresses them, in whatever way. They will ignore whoever doesn’t. The woman should impress you too. There are shitty people of every gender, but by and large women get more seriously traumatized by men. Just make connections, have standards, pay attention.

If you’re that into a girl, try to see her more in person—wherever you are—before you ask for her number. If you’re meeting for the first time, giving her yours should suffice. If she’s not interested or too shy or whatever it may be, move on. Women do not want to give their numbers out carelessly, for so many reasons.

Well, yes and no. Some men ask for my number before I even have a chance to decide if I’m interested or not. I don’t like the pressure of giving it out. That’s pretty much always a no. If you are vibing, give her yours. She’ll text if she’s interested, knowing the ball’s in her court. If she gives you hers first, she is definitely interested. Plain and simple.

I’m a woman, and this doesn’t surprise me at all. And yet, it’s 2020, not an episode of Friends where anyone even feels pressured to discuss how many partners they’ve had. Most of us don’t care or have any desire to know. “Have you been tested lately? Here’s the recent and relevant trauma you should be aware of.” That’s the gist of what sexual partners discuss now.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
