It’s happened twice with an ex of mine- a guy on a date ogled at me, damn near bad his eyes glued at me during his entire brunch. His gf and my bf said NOTHING, and my bf said he noticed it too. That same vacation, another man was eying me and when I went to the restroom he approached my bf to ask him about me- he was curious about my features and was inquiring about my background to my bf. Idk if it’s unfair but it was definitely a turn off that other men felt they could do that in my ex’s pres…

This reminds me of an encounter recently. I was out of town and staying at a hotel. I wanted to get fresh air at night (windows barely open in room) and it was a little late, but I didn’t think I would have an issue in front of the lobby in the patio area. Well, a young male on the phone sees me walk out of the lobby (I’m mid 30s but look younger) and he follows me outside. I stop and he continues to walk up to me (during covid) and says “young lady excuse me” and then I give this look and he go…

What is an appropriate age range for a 36-year-old woman to date, per FDS? Is 43 too old? Idk if it matters but people guess I am in mid/late 20s based on appearance. My female friends all look younger too. But men in my area that are in mid 30s and beyond (esp over 40) do at least look their age, if not worse. So with our peers, it still looks like we’re with an older man lol.

Well my friend also doesn’t get sad or depressed.

I have a female friend that says she never cries, can’t remember the last time she did. When her friend recently passed away tragically (he was 30), she said she did not cry at all. Idk if she is being honest. She always talks about how lucky she is to not be sad or depressive person (I have openly talked about my past experiences with depression/anxiety and over coming them). But what I realized after reflecting on this is that although crying/sadness is not a good feeling, it’s part of our ran…

Men have audacity so take bigger risks. My brother is a POC and we took the same professional path, he dropped out of his program a year in. I completed my doctorate level degree, completed internships and started a respectable career. After dropping out, he traveled the world and had a series of jobs that never lasted more than a year. But he networked, socialized and took big risks in the tech/financial investing world and now is doing better than me. I don’t think I could do the same things h…

Ugh sorry. I haven’t had the exact same situation but I’ve been followed or creeped out in other ways, and I do that same scowl and then remove myself immediately. I wish I had better advice for you.

Yeah, a friend showed me her purse sized pepper spray just last week and suggested I order one too. Lot’s of creeps out there, esp during covid. You can get them on Amazon ladies!!

Yes, I think I would do the same even though it would escalate it and made it worse..I can be combative when physically violated. But OP did the best thing by not engaging imo.

I am so sorry- and I understand why you’re upset, it’a gross, vulgar and hazardous. Then those weak men just smiled and passed by, that made it worse for you. Please consider filing a report or talking to someone about it. Self-love and self-care are in order today- treat yourself to what you love and makes you feel nourished. Message me if you need to type it out.

There’s a 40+ min video on YouTube where a lady named Tasha interviews his alleged mistress. The only “proof” to corroborate any part of her story is a video of Derrick asking her about her panties...it’s just him in the car talking and recording himself.

Yes. I needed to hear this and it resonates. I can read advice or principles that make absolute sense, but it’s hard to fully “give in” at times. Yesterday I had a first date planned with a tall, successful man and when he reached out to reschedule just a few hours before with a lame excuse, I knew I should block/delete. I initially responded to him but upon reflecting, I realized the truth of the situation even if I wanted to believe otherwise. So I blocked/deleted moments later!

My friend asked if I would move to another state for a man. That would mean I give up my niche professional career, so I said I only would do so if he gave me $1 million beforehand. She found that ridiculous but my rationale is I would lose a lot of earning potential and need a comfy cushion + bonus incentive to give up something I invested so much of my invaluable time into.

Wow. Serves him right. But I do feel for the son tho. I worked with foster kids and nearly every child I worked with had a deep desire or yearning for their mother, whether they knew her or not.

Well he doesn’t live in my city (3 hours away) and he ended up not coming to my town...and I did see on the app that he is still in his city. He wants to meet when he is here next week. But like you said, he could have sent this text this morning.

And he just texted at 4pm (for a dinner date) apologizing and saying he got terrible news at work and sent a pic of his overloaded office. He asked if we can meet next week..

Yeah, to each their own but I don’t think I want a man that is into partying as he approaches 40

Where I live, there are places for older folks but those are lounges and nice swanky bars. “Partying” spots for 35+ crowd, not so much.. The people that I know in the age bracket that party are pretty dysfunctional..but I hate partying so maybe I’m judgmental

Nope date was supposed to be tonight! I will admit when he texted after I gave him my number I simple gave him a thumbs up..but all he said is “hey this is joe from the app”. This was Monday. If he was interested, he would still follow up..

I have never had a man speak up for me when getting harassed, ever. I have gotten sympathetic looks from men when gross men have called attention to me aggressively or loudly. Even my ex didn’t speak up. I recall we were having brunch and this man was GAWKING at me the whole time despite having a date with him. He basically never took his eyes off of me, sure he didn’t say anything but his gaze was unsettling. As we were leaving, I asked my BF if he noticed and he said “yes, that guy loved you. …

This reminds me when my former BF surprised me on 2 occasions (only twice in 5 years). One morning i wasn’t feeling well and he bought me my “fave” mocha latte (I drink plain coffee lol) and another time he bought me my fave thai dish when I got in after a late flight (wrong dish). I didn’t correct him because I thought it was close enough and very sweet. I remember being in awe that someone even brought me something to my door...

I’m not sure because I’ve only online dated during Covid but I have found most men suggest meeting up for drinks. Sometimes I get I invite for “dinner or drinks”. My guy friend that is NOT cheap and does want a relationship told me he asks women for drinks because he found women don’t want to commit to dinner for a first date, so he adjusted his offer. For whole 30, if your area has a lot of those trendy healthy eating cafes, that can be an option.

Is a successful (owns/runs a big business) 37 year old man that states he “parties on occasion” automatically LV? I want to settle down, is partying on occasion a red flag?

I’ll admit I did not read this post in it’s entirety but in case it’s not mentioned- if you are marriage minded, be very wary of whether a man is even willing to marry outside of his country/race/religion etc. I live in an international city and I am also of a foreign background, and sadly I know too many men who date foreign women with no intention on dating them. I had a falling out with a friend over the issue, he was stringing this nice girl along for over a year while his parents were activ…

When should a guy confirm a date by? He asked me out on Monday for dinner Thursday night but we landed on tomorrow evening because of my schedule. I’m not super texty or chatty before a first day but I expected a text today to confirm we are still on for tomorrow night. I know he was driving today back to our city (he was a few hours away for work). I vetted and verified him- he is a co-founder of a company so a lot of his info is out there. At what point should I NOT go on the date, assuming I …

Any tips on how to actively “test” in ways the OP suggests if you’re a naturally laid back person? I don’t ask people for things or help unless it’s an emergency- not even my friends and fam. I’m just easy going and handle things on my own. I’ve been around women friends who seem to test their guys in my presence- assertively asking them to do something or expressing disappointment in something (ie friends guy chose a restaurant for our group outing that he did not put research into and it was n…

Wow I have had several men ask me for help when walking around in my city. I was chatting with my dad on the phone as I was walking to my gym and a car full of men pulled over to ask for general directions and my dad asked what was going on and then said “THEY ARE LYING”. He also told me not to walk and talk so I can stay vigilant. Sadly dads know their own kind
