I posted in the comments here that this was possibly intended as humor but it also serves to make a point that way. Making even a lighthearted joke against women on social media these days can get you crucified but with men, the standards are much different.

Fair enough.

Perhaps this tweet was intended humorously and anyone battling depression and trying to get on with their live is brave. But belittling the risks and sacrifices our troops make is not okay and this type of humor which indirectly targets men has become normalized.

Fair enough. I have that same issue myself often.

You should just be yourself. Don't try to emulate a character. I understand what you're saying but you should not consciously try to adapt anything from those people because you are not them. It will come across as phony and you won't want to keep up the facade forever, anyways. Instead just work on being the most confident version of yourself you can be, instead of a second rate Don Draper.

Thanks for the info! I was on mobile when I posted this but I had planned to find out more information about the source today.

An acquaintance from college posted this so I don’t have any additional context. It doesn’t seem like satire to me given what I know about his political and social leanings (though I hope I’m wrong). This is absolutely mind blowingly stupid on every level.

Shared this with a female co-worker who is pretty reasonable and I respect her opinions on some things. She admitted the female was wrong here, but called being upset about this petty and said this shows male privilege because men's biggest worry is having to pick up the tab while a woman's in this situation would be potentially fearing for her life if the man was a serial killer. Thoughts?

It is REALLY hard to create and increase attraction over text. It is possible, but you have to have the perfect balance of wittiness, sarcasm, humor, and conversational skills, basically. Or just hope you two have a good connection and texting only makes that more clear. But as a rule of thumb, try to text only to set a date to meet up or go out.

As someone who thinks a lot of the advice and stuff I see on here is pure crap, this is actually pretty good advice and is well-written.

What's wrong with creating a game that appeals to a wider audience? Yes, it's a money making technique, but who cares? No one said Battlefield V has to be 100% historically accurate . While it's true that women weren't drafted into the Armed Forces in WWII (at least in the U.S., not sure for other countries), women did serve and sacrifice and I see nothing wrong with having them as a playable character on a video game.

Why Brilliant Girls Tend To Favor Non-STEM Careers I read this article a few days ago, so it's just coincidence that this controversy has arisen. This article perfectly addresses the issue and uses multiple studies to back it up. What always baffles me is that some feminists and SJWs can't understand is that saying the sexes are equal doesn't mean they are exactly the same.

Here is a link to a good article that provides a discussion of this topic. I think the author cites multiple peer reviewed studies.

So use your environment as a way to see what kind of fears and insecurities you have and then address them by acting on it? I like that.

Can you give an example of using your environment to shape you in the direction you want to go? I'm just not sure what that means and need it in a context to understand it better.

I appreciate this post and the effort that went into it. I agree with the basic underlying principles (being at "peace" with yourself and not letting your environment shape you). As a long time lurker of this sub, I tend to think that too much analysis goes into the process of seduction though. Self-confidence that comes from being of sound mind, body and spirit, as well as the confidence that says "I don't need you" is where everything begins and ends. This is all my opinion and what I find mos…

If it's real it won't fade. Don't worry about what will and won't happen, instead just let her know how you feel and be completely open with her. Fate decides the rest.

I think my problem is I just worry too much about being a nice guy. Thats been my reputation in high school and in college im the guy who stays behind to take care of a drunk friend instead of going out. I probably dont speak my mind as much as i should. I know that girls have absolutely no attraction to a nice guy, but as soon as i meet a girl im interested in, i just start being nice instead of making advances on her.

Sure. Just last week I was eating in a restaurant and I saw a girl I went to high school with. She was eating with a fairly attractive girl. I made eye contact with her friend and went over and introduced myself to her friend while I caught up with my friend. My friend and I made small talk for two minutes and then they left. I stood up straight, smiled, told a few jokes, and did everything else pretty well but her friend didnt seem to have any attraction for me because she didnt follow up any c…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
