It's so narcissistic I honestly would have believed it if I'd been told this was a parody.

Yup, it was enough to miss the point of the statements entirely, but then to use it as yet another opportunity to cry "woe is men" was the icing on the cake for me.

In the thread posted elsewhere on reddit about this, they posted the quiz used in the study. My favourite part is people losing their minds over this data point in particular: (9) Women should be cherished and protected by men Their comments, in a nutshell: um so they're saying men SHOUDN'T be cherished and protected??? Like, no, dolts, this can be true without the inverse being false! But here they go again, just telling on themselves.

What always gets me about the "*I'm actually 38"s is that, even if it were genuinely erroneous (and of course it's not), it would be such a turnoff that these men weren't capable of the incredibly simple technical troubleshooting it would take to fix that mistake

Absolutely. I also had it explained to me - and it only takes a basic understanding of cell replication to understand - that the more replications a sperm cell undertakes, the higher the chance of a mutation occurring. Edit: shinyjewels goes into more detail on this elsewhere in this thread

Oh wow, thank you for putting it this way, I've been trying to put my finger on that element of it for ages without managing. Perfectly apt.

You're so impressive! It galls me the way men think that they can just de facto beat every woman at every strength competition. Yes, there are biological differences - but you're proof they are exaggerated I've been working out for the first time this year and my brother challenged me to a push up competition, at which I trounced him. He was so shocked he sulked for hours. I was like, dude, I've done pushups near every day for a year, and you've never worked out in your life, and you're shocked?

Fuck's sake. Men never want to address the fundamental, biological unfairness that a woman is the party who has to deal with the potential to get pregnant. Abortion and children's rights aren't inequitable, they're the answer to the inequity.

It's so telling that he brought the man's age down too. He knows exactly what's wrong with a man that old going after a woman that young

Imagine complimenting someone by calling them a "literal trophy wife"

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
