I briefly dated a man that was 52 when I was 26. 26 years between us. He was literally twice my age. I had no idea what I was doing or what I was about to get involved in. I can’t believe I even dated him sometimes, thank god it was brief. I was just in such a broken state at the time and I guess I felt like he was someone who could rescue me. He talked big talk about his feelings for me early on, how different I was from the women his age, and future faking talking about taking me away to live …

Ladies, I just moved into my first big girl apartment (I’ve always lived with my roommates or siblings previously as a student / young professional) and it feels so good to finally have my space to do with as I please. Level up 2k21 is going so far so good. I’m over the moon!

I dated a man exactly twice my age when I was 26. His oldest daughter was only 3 maybe 4 years younger than me. I was in a dark, dark place and I think that’s why I fell for it, and that consciously or unconsciously, that’s exactly why he preyed on me. I was lonely and sad and I had no one else to turn to, or that’s how it felt at the time. I was so lonely I didn’t even recognize how predatory his behavior was (he had power over me and I couldn’t do anything because he was the owner of the compa…

I was in a brief relationship with a man twice my age when I was 26. It didn’t last long, it didn’t take long for me to wake up and to be honest it felt wrong the whole time, but young women get so much conflicting messaging that I wondered if it was me or our culture that’s wrong. It’s been almost a year now and I’m still processing the trauma that inflicted on me. I still get triggered to this day. There was a huge power imbalance at play there, too, because he owned the company I worked for. …

As a white woman, this year has been a reckoning for how much I still need to learn (and unlearn) about race and justice in America (and Canada, as that is where I live). We as white women need to stop just talking all the time; we need to show up and put our money where our mouths are. No more silence as silence = complicity. We’re here and we hear you, support you and stand with you ✊🏻✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

That’s possible! I didn’t think about that, but unfortunately you might be right too. I’m just more skeptical of posts written by « women » these days on boards like these but... you never know 😞

Same, sis. I’m guilty of every single one of these 😩 Sometimes I beat myself up over my past actions, but I have to be kinder to myself, we all do, and let the past remain in the past. The first step to change is awareness, after all... now that I’m aware, I’m never going to accept this kind of behaviour ever again.

You did the right thing. There’s no reason to lie about something as trivial as that other than to get younger women—exactly as you said—probably around ages 18-24 because women that age aren’t checking for 29 year olds. And if he’s lying about something as trivial as that, something tells me he’s likely to lie about other trivial things too (perhaps even pathologically. I was friends once with a pathological liar that lied about small, stupid, trivial things just because he could. We’re not fri…

I was the “work wife” to some dude that had a live-in girlfriend. The sad side chick that thought he was going to leave her for me because what we had was special and I knew all his secrets (because I was one of them LOL), even though he made it clear we were just friends. I was delusional and one of those girls that only heard what I wanted to hear. I still feel guilty to this day about this, though I was much younger and I had recently undergone a bunch of traumatic shit a few months before, s…

There’s a great Oscar Wilde quotation about this. “Everything in this world is about sex except sex. Sex is about about power.”

Oh my god this is so true! I’ve only encountered a micropeen once and it was so disappointing how fast he came. Let alone the fact that I could barely feel anything. So disappointing because he was 6’2” and gorgeous, so I did not expect it. Edit: Lmao men are TRIGGERED by this post, my first hate messages have started to pour in. I am truly honored. (Way to out yourselves for having micropenises, gentlemen. I’m sorry to tell you that hate won’t make your dick grow bigger, Pinocchio.)

Nope, that’s gross. I would’ve blocked and deleted with quickness as soon as I received a text like that. It doesn’t even dignify a response.

You’re definitely not alone! We as women are socialized basically from birth to seek out love, our « better halves » etc. as if we aren’t already enough. Men aren’t socialized the same way, which is part of the reason dating is so hard... and exhausting, hence why I took myself off the market. It’s not easy, but it’s definitely worth it. Once you return to dating, it will also make vetting men easier—and easier to walk away when they prove to be LVM. Good luck! Wishing you all the best :)

This is exactly what I’m doing right now, sis, and it is so liberating. I deleted OLD last year after realizing the same thing—since I was 20 (I’m 26 now) I’ve been dating nothing but emotionally unavailable fuckboys because I myself was emotionally unavailable. I decided to take a long break from dating, and I am continuing to do so in 2020 (after one failure where I was in a sort-of relationship; I had a weak moment but it’s over now). It’s a very freeing feeling.

While I agree with the general message here, you can’t determine if a man is high value after one conversation. Appearance is not an indicator of moral value, and while we should never settle for someone we are not attracted to, we can overlook red flags much more easily when we are very attracted to someone. Beauty can be weaponized against us just as much as ugliness. Be optimistic, but also cautious.

I love Shera! Her videos were like a gateway to FDS for me when I first discovered them. I was never the same after—in the best way.

So she’s more concerned about making him uncomfortable by trying to get to know him on a deeper level than her own discomfort at being pushed into sex too early, before she knows him better? Girl. I don’t blame her because I used to think shit like this, too. What a sad, fucked up culture we live in, and I’m only 26 so this dating culture where you can order girls to come over to your house like fucking UberEats is pretty much all I’ve ever known. How did it get to this? Men keep on winning. At …

Something valuable I learned from this sub is to not even ask what “we” are. “We” are not a we until he asks for commitment; we shouldn’t be asking, and until he asks, we are single and free to date other people as we please. Monogamy is for men. When he asks, then we decide if we want to commit or if we want to continue dating other people. This is my MO now and probably one of the most valuable pieces of advice I’ve taken from here. If he wants an exclusive relationship, he will let you know a…

This sub has really helped on pulling back the veil to the true reality of what most men are, as well as their true behaviour and motivations when dating. Many of the FDS principles and experiences women have shared here already aligned with the reality of dating that I’ve experienced, but the world at large makes you feel kind of crazy sometimes when you bring up a lot of the topics we discuss here. It’s like gaslighting en masse (but I should not be surprised, I suppose, since we still live in…

Ooo I like this idea of taking myself on a date! I guess if I can dine alone why not take myself out to a concert as well? I know I can do it but I’m afraid, and that’s just me projecting my own insecurities—I think we’re all afraid of being alone to some extent but it’s time I got comfortable with the idea. Maybe I’ll treat myself to a nice dinner before to make it a whole solo date night. I’m focusing on me this year and I think reframing doing things alone as dating myself might help. Thanks!

Anyone have advice on how to feel confident and secure when going out alone? So, I’m totally confident with doing a lot of activities alone such as traveling, eating at restaurants and shopping—in fact, I almost prefer to shop alone, and I overcame my fear of traveling and eating alone after traveling a bunch for work. However, when it comes to bars and concerts, unless I’m traveling and already out of my comfort zone I find it hard to go solo. I used to go out with my bestie all the time and I’…

They come back around like clockwork every time. It’s become predictable by this point. Last Mercury RX I had three separate guys, not even exes, pop back up from the past (they were part of a toxic friend group of LVMs I belonged to a few years ago, I’m no contact with most of them). I knew what they wanted though and I curved them all (one particularly LVM kept sending me dick pics and invited me to “smoke and chill by his pool.” I declined and I called him out asking what he wanted because he…
