The mother will likely have to pay what she can too, even from jail. If you really want change, what we need is a better social safety net. They also don't want women to have abortions, or birth control, so if the supreme court goes the way it seems like it will, more women will be having kids nobody wants. If we could figure out a way to get better social safety net, we could eliminate the need for child support altogether. The role of provider should ideally be shared. We believe men should not be shamed for showing emotion, as bottling emotions isn't good for anyone--it leads to higher suicide rates for men. It is a rare thing for a woman to get pregnant from the male child she raped, so the laws tend to overlook these outlier cases.
