One thing that I've seen in the workplace is that the people who are modest and expect to have their performance/effort recognized for what it is are often overlooked. The people who brag about what they did are recognized as being full of hot air. The people who do well are those who are modest and still able to talk about their accomplishments. It's a balancing act that involves modesty, confidence, and not being afraid to share your successes. I would think this applies to all aspects of life…
