For you, looks might be the sole most important factor above all. For others, it might not. We're all different at the end of the day, and it is fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/25 02:11 AM

Everyone has to make up for their own shortcomings, cause humans all have shortcomings. Self-improvement is all about making the best out of ourselves, despite our shortcomings. Men and women alike. Life is not a Disney movie where only perfect creatures are allowed. No such thing in real life. Everyone has shortcomings, and everyone makes up for it. And attraction has a million different factors, physical attraction is just one out of many.

What kind of expectations we men are facing? Asking as a fellow man. What kind of women you find fancy and go after?

As a man myself, I was able to ask professional help any time I needed in the past. Whether if it's professional or friends (male and female alike). How were you rejected when actively asking for help you described here you need? What happened exactly? What issues you were looking for help with, and from whom?

Man here. Depends on the person. Generalizing does no good. Such as "all men are evil" and hateful speeches like that.

Sex and dating are CONSENSUAL acts. They require BOTH men and women consent to work. Not just one. That's not enough. You, as a man have all the rights to say no.

Why so? Clubs and bars are perfrect for having chit-chats with others and having general conversations. People are going there to actually make connections, so you don't have to be afraid of "is it ethical" or stuff like that. For people who are open minded, wanting to have some great conversations about things they have in common, bars and clubs are an awesome choice!
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/24 05:03 AM

Why would I differentiate my friends based on sex? Friendship is friendship. People are people.

Just to be on the same page, I agree with not everyone will make it. The difference is, this is something you cannot say for the future, only for the past. The only time and place to say something like this is the dead bed. Future cannot be told, and there are millions and millions different people out there. That is the difference between "I couldn't make it" and self-fulfilling prophecy.

Improvement is possible just not for everyone Everyone can improve their lives if they want to. The only way to not to is being literally dead. The issue usually comes from the "if they want to" part. This is the single most important question. Some already decided "nah the world is against me" so they start to put effort into making excuses. A LOT of effort. Funny, if a millionaire were to tell a fucker on minimum wage that improvement is possible Just like most things in life, this is not blac…

You know the fundamental core of apps like Tinder is looks, right? You are trying to prove that "apple is the only fruit in the world" becuse you analize a single apple tree. Your "proof" does not take into account all those people who don't use dating apps at all. Every user of dating apps like this is willingly admit to judge, or to be judged by looks, because this is literally the selling point of these applications. Also, majority of these apps are men. One of the many reasons why "reading s…

Was just explained (very correctly by the way) that the constant need for attention and validation is one of the biggest symptoms of insecurity, and confidence does not depend on looks itself.

Let's say: At 14 years old I decide to work towards a healthy life, both rationally and emotionally. I end up having a wealthy carrier, supportive friends and I also happen to take part in charities and volunteering. Or At 14 years I decide I don't care. I start to fail school, start drinking excessively and end up an alcoholic, maybe even homelesss. Are you telling me, these are the exact same "human"? Biologically yes, but personally it's day and night. You as a human are built from the dozen …

How would you define "chooser"? A woman can choose a man and the man can say no, also a man can choose a woman and the woman can say yes. Both of them are equally "choosers" for relationships or hook ups.

Not a woman, but I know some fuckboys personally, and I can tell you, "few weeks" is way too naive. They can take even few months to trick them into the thing. The key factors in seduction are confidence and social skills, this is nothing new. However, these things are not connected to morality, everyone on the morality scale can achieve these skills and when a morally bad person got them that's where the thing called "manipulation" comes into play. The crazy thing is, they don't lie when they s…

The thing we disagree about is that I see being sexually desired for an LTR and for casual sex are two separate things. It is possible to have the former but refuse the latter. I had LTRs and ONSs in the past as well, ONS happened real quick while I made my partner wait in the LTR. Two completely different sexual desires and the ONS was not even comparable to the LTR.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/22 03:27 PM
4

Don't forget that a working LTR includes great sex for both as well which of course includes being desired from both sides. LTR and casual standards at once doesn't make any sense. If you have issues with your sex life in an LTR that's fine and can be talked about. You can leave your partner for it if you wish, I just don't see what casual sex has anything to do with it. Casual and committed sex are like day and night, not really comparable.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/22 03:07 PM
3

The case we are talking about usually results from the guys who can meet the LTR standards but not the casual sex standards. As someone who prefers LTRs over casual sex, this sounds a perfect situation.

if you are insecure or needy, once you find a girl you won't be it anymore. It would be a beautiful world if it was even remotely true, I'm sure. It is not though. insecurity is not cured with outer validation, in fact it's the perfect ingredient for a toxic relationship. It's your personal task to work on it.

They are not dad-bods or skinny fats, they are literally fit. Although I agree "ideal" sexually attractive picture of men has changed throughout the years but it's also the same for women. There was a time when obese was considered sexy, there was a time when really skinny was considered sexy, and so on. Preference is still personal now, just like it was earlier.

Do you have IRL experience with successful people on the ONS field? I do, and I know my list of friends is a tiny sample size I can tell from all of them, they are struggling a LOT with LTR. They don't really understand how they work, they don't even want to going into one and if somehow they end up in one, they are messing it so easily it leads to breakup relatively quickly. I personally do believe being successful in LTR and in ONS are 2 very well separated skillset. You can master both but th…

I agree on the word usage but my point still stands. Everyone is entitled to their standards. If they are really "crazy", they won't find a partner anyway, it's a personal problem. My point is you can't change someone's standards, if you force it that's a guaranteed toxic relationship. Same is true when you lie about your own standards being non-existent aka the classic "just lower your standards", which also might lead to toxic relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 04:30 PM

This is proof of hypergamy right here. No, this is proof of self-respect. Lying about your standards to yourself is an instant recipe for toxic relationships. For both men and women. As a man, I would never be with someone who I don't have chemistry with.

Nothing dishonest. You assume casual and passionate sex is the same while they are not even comparable. I'm a guy and I had casual sex as well as passionate where I was the one withholding it. Casual sex is really just a temporary pleasure and means literally nothing after, just like masturbation but with someone else, this is it. On the other hand passionate sex is a completely different thing, and when I was really interested in someone I was withholding it on purpose to make it even better la…

You have to have some concept of fairness before that works. The advice is not useful at all if a person is selfish or feels the need to be superior to everyone else. IMO this is the exact case where this advice can be applicable and useful. For me, wanting a spineless simp for my daughter (or someone else said in this post, "doormat") is kinda weird. I'd want an honest and confident men as a partner for my daughter. Exactly like someone I could be proud of if he'd be my son. Edit: grammar

These things are totally not mutually exclusive. You can be 'manly' and masculine and still being able to show your emotions. It is still different than being a crybaby. Also, talking about your feelings does not mean you can't or won't solve them on your own. Feeling something bad and the willingness of doing something against it is 2 different things. I think what both genders equally hate is when someone is talking about negative feelings all the time yet still doesn't do anything to make it …

I understand what you're saying although in my experience even if you are tall, you still need to have these attributes (being a good company to be around and confident) to succesfully find a sexual-, or relationship partner. According to my experience, height plays a really tiny role in this even if you successfully achieve the other traits. We always had hard time to "keep up" with this guy even we were in advantage by strictly looks, but women usually prefer inner values way more. This is why…

Ok I give up. You have mastered excuse-seeking to a level I can't keep up with and is too much for me mentally. I just hope one day you'll realize it was your mentality all along which made you a "2/10" and not looks or women around you. Farewell.

It seems you still don't understand what I'm saying. With personality traits you can increase attraction of women. Yes, sexual attraction. It is not rare when women choose guys they find less physically attractive but more fun to be around.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 02:50 PM
1

Basic attraction includes personality traits. Especially true with women. You have all the chances to increase attraction but you won't cause you're too obsessed with the belief it's all physical, this is where we disagree.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 02:36 PM

The "reality" is that you put too much importance on looks (however you didn't answer about your effort you put into it) you seem to not care about every other things which can be improved by yourself every day and are attractive to women and could increase your chances. At this point we're just running in circles so I think there's no point going forward with this conversation, so I'm wishing you a really good day!

1%? Where does this number comes from? How much effort do you put to your appearance on a daily basis? Other than that, personality traits are very attractive to a lot of women out there and can easily compensate physical looks, and even with physical looks the real importance is the amount of work you put into it. It seems you kinda put too much importance to looks even so you assign yourself an utterly low number as your worth with women while (as I said earlier) it is a factor of many differe…

You can have X odds with random person A and 2X with random person B, you simply don't know that because you don't know how others think. This is why I think it does not worth the math and headache, the one and only way to increase our odds is via self improvement, both physically and mentally. We're humans so there is always room for improvement. What I'm saying is that these odds are not static, we can continuously improve it by ourselves and by doing so we will feel better. And if we feel bet…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 01:34 PM

I admit I misunderstood you a bit. I agree that it's important to handle rejections for our own sake. What I'm saying is that your "odds" are not that easy to define because it depends on way too many factors.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 01:03 PM

So can we agree on that it is definitely possible, but you just don't care? I mean, giving up is also a choice and an option and if that's what you truly want, I can do nothing but respect that.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 12:49 PM

In my group of friends, the shortest guy had the biggest success with women, he has a body count around 40 while he is about 5'4. Obviously he was rejected numerous times but in general he was always the fun and confident guy everyone was happy to be around. Not "famous", not rich, nothing like that. Again: don't let one physical attribute of yours make you view yourself as a "less" person, you're not.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 12:34 PM
-2

There are still women out there who don't care about height or not to an extent it couldn't be compensated with other, mostly personality traits, that's my point. Height is a thing you can't change while there are a lot of other things you can. Women are not hivemind, neither men.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 12:19 PM
2

We can't change others or the "system". The only thing we can do is to improve and find someone who loves ourselves for what we are not because we "forced" or "manipulated" their viewpoints. If someone wants to change they'll find a way anyway but we can't (and really shouldn't) force our own viewpoints to others when it comes to emotions just like relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 12:12 PM
1

But personality is, and how they handle their standards, what's more important, what's less important, etc. I personally don't know 2 exact same people personality-wise, in fact, people are greatly different from each other. Talking about trends can give the false feeling of how many people are the same, also the onion effect does the same (peeling off our layers when we're slowly opening up to someone, from general traits to very specific ones). Deep down we're all very very different.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 10:03 AM
0

I'm not denying height for example is a "general trend". I already said in an other comment here that I just don't see the point to highlight "trendy" but unchangeable traits such as height while there are still so many aspects we can actively work on, way more than unchangeable ones. It won't help the short guy finding a partner in fact it can only make him feel worse, meanwhile there are women out there who don't care about height at all. What's the point?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/22 09:55 AM
5

You are right, I usually ignore broad trends, because I don't really see the point. What's important to an individual is their own success and happiness and thinking about being in the statistically "lower side" in something does not help at all to find that matching "outlier" for you, it can even be harmful in my opinion. The point is there are a wide range of aspects to focus and improve, way more than those things we can't such as height or penis size, and these are all increasing our chances…

"An insecure woman who needs a lot of comfort, could provoke an over compensatory display of committment and emotional investment from her boyfriend, who is naturally quite chill, confident and secure." Confident people don't pair up with insecure people, or for just a very short time until true colors are shown. These "playing games" scenarios are between 2 insecure people.

Being spontaneous is really important and a huge turn on! Other than that if things go south you're there clueless. I'd say just let yourself having some fun without any concrete plans. You can plan to ask her out but nothing specific. Live for the moment.

"You're being X-zoned" is not real. A choice is offered to you: being a friend/sexual partner etc. If you are able to do this without any additional feelings you're good to go. If no, you can simply say no. No one is getting zoned, it's you put yourself there.
