First of all, being a good parent is not the bare minimum. Being a present parent isn't even the bare minimum. Paying child support is the legal bare minimum and nobody gets complimented for that. I also work full time, but it's not people I deal with in the white collar world that would insult you, it's strangers in the world. 1) It is absolutely a compliment. You can argue whether not it's deserved, but it is objectively a compliment. 2) How does complimeting a parent on their parenting fit into the saying about hell and good intentions?
