Just lots of suspicion. She would send multiple paragraph emails to her ex who she wasn't over. She was basically begging him to forgive her. She would make and send him gifts. They were in a poly relationship and he broke up with her for gaslighting him. She did the same to me. We were in NY and these emails were sent before she went out to visit him in California for a month. She came back pregnant. All I want is a paternity test. Thats fair to ask. No "proof" that she cheated but shady enough…

Not sure if she did it on purpose or out of habit. I'm sure they probably wouldn't expect a man to file a petition for paternity. Usually it seems to be women chasing men down for test, not the other way around.

Thats what the petition is for.

Not in NY. Sample for OTC test still have to be taken by a doctor.

Initially she was very pleasant, kind, we could have conversations. Then she became aggressive, controlling, vindictive, a one upper, disagreed just to cause friction it seemed.

There is no doubt she wants to hurt me. She has joined forces with my ex of 20 years and the gf of 4 years Small town. Its a nightmare on top of the rumors and gossip.

She won't consent and NY requires it to be done by appointment by a doctor. When you buy the kit at a pharmacy it has a number to call for the appointment.

I almost wonder if she is letting it add up so that she can come at me at a later date and have me so far in the hole I'll have to sale off things, but not happening Also, if she would file from California after she moves, does that mean its based on Cali child support laws and cost of living?

I have mixed feelings about that answer. I will be happy to be taking care of my responsibilities and not have this hanging over my head, if I'm the dad, but not happy about being connected to her and the games.

She has indirectly asked me for money a few times through my sister by stating she is broke and could use some child support, but I have never given her any financial support (need proof of paternity). If I did, would that have put me on the hook for payments? Thankfully I didn't

Lesson learned. I've only been in two relationships before I started seeing this woman...both eere longterm first was 20 years, second was 4. I'll be wrapping it up unless I'm married or I know she can't get pregnant.

I've been asking her to consent to one of these and she keeps refusing. While at the same time claiming she is broke and needs child support, yet won't let me test or file with the court. Why? The most recent ask she agreed then canceled at the last minute requesting me to sign a document first. Hell. No. Thats why I filed a petition. She says she doesn't want to go through the courts because she doesn't want me to disrupt her plans to move to California. Thats where her ex bf and best friend li…

Thank you all for the great recommendations. Please keep sharing anything you think might be helpful. This is causing me great mental stress and has ruined my reputation in the community.

In the state of NY, unmarried parents have to complete an acknowledgement of paternity form, which requires a paternity test. I never filled out or signed this form. If she signed my name and signature it is fraud. I'm pretty sure this has to be done in front of a notary. I was not present for birth and have not had any personal face to face contact.

I don't think she can put my name on a birth certificate if I'm not there.

This is correct. Order of Filiation is what it should of said. Basically if a man files for Order of Filiation and it passes, he is considered the father...even if not biological. Its a request to put a fathers name of the Birth Certificate.

If the child is mine. I'm going to file child support myself for myself and file for joint custody.

Definitely performance anxiety. I was having some trouble with this too. After getting more comfortable in the relationship in addition to her starting to express her feelings and long term interest more, this has faded. I think the fear of losing her was what triggered it for me. Not knowing how interested she is even though it was obvious. Also, as others have mentioned. Some things that have helped me. Eat a handful of almonds every day. Stop watching porn. Drink lots of water. Get good sleep…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
