I had an extremely toxic boyfriend once upon a time in my distant past who would cheat on me and then accuse ME of being the abuser because I "forced him into monogamy". Miss me with that shit

What's the reason for typing the words as ba.tterer and "ab user"? I tried using Google to find out for myself, but google "helpfully" autocorrected my searches, lol. Wondering if this is a preferred way to communicate and if so why? (Obviously you know what you're talking about!)

I was literally the low self-esteem girlfriend in this exact scenario and while I have forgiven myself by now, I will never forget (nor forgive the horrible boyfriend for putting me through that, thankfully now in my distant past)

holy shit I'd never really thought about this. Never gonna trust a guy who only likes dogs and not cats - they are only interested in an animal who is guaranteed to love them. Fucking gross

I'm not sure why my comment is being received with such hostility, it's an honest question and I'm not coming from a perspective of being pro-porn in any way. It was an honest question rooted in the observation that not all porn is created with the same commercial intent. Like, yes, "porn bad" but are we not permitted to consider the mere possibility of any nuance in the claims we are making about it? I don't agree that all amateur porn is revenge porn. Like, I'm not here trying to defend porn (…

I like the open bar and desserts. Why can't we normalize more of that, without all the cringey ceremonial stuff

Imo, no self respecting person should change their last name to match someone else's - unless they BOTH pick a new last name if they want to be a unified family in that way. I honestly want to change my last name to something new for various reasons, but my current last name is so searchable it makes me hesitant to give it up. I'm seriously one of only ~5 people in the USA with my name, and my first name is extremely common (think Sarah). But the word itself sounds gross and I have no attachment…

Fertility benefits from employers are becoming more common, at least in my experience. Cool I guess. But I'm now wondering when workplaces will start to pay for sterilization and vasectomies? Why support women's decisions to start a family and deny support to women trying their hardest not to?

lol omg the truth of the "sensitive" part is hitting me so hard right now. My shitty past choices of relationships were definitely partially driven by me falling for that nonsense. "Awwh he's so sensitive" (years later) "hol up, this person is a trainwreck"

Cooking is literally not even hard. I mean yes, there is an extremely high skill ceiling - I am not a master chef. But you can go a LONG way just being able to read instructions. People think "cooking" is this magical skill but for those of us who aren't professional chefs, it is 95% reading comprehension

I've been in a couple of long-term relationships where the bedrooms died entirely because I wasn't actually physically attracted to them. Been with my spouse for almost 7 years now and things are still spicy and fun. Who could have predicted that being physically attracted to your partner would make it so easy to stay sexually interested?!

For all intents and purposes, being anti-choice and supporting legislation that seeks to control women's bodies is a fundamentally anti-woman stance. So in this space, like, yeah

Lol I legitimately don't understand the perception of FDS as toxic. I've been subbed here for a while now and haven't seen anything toxic. I guess anyone who calls out shitty behavior is being toxic

These posts by Chris Pratt are so upsetting and depressing and disappointing (but, I should note, not surprising). I've always enjoyed him in TV and films and now that's tainted forever. Why does he have to be garbage like all the rest of them :(

My mom made SO many mistakes but the one lesson she taught me really effectively was to always make my own money. She was so right!! Being able to make roughly the same salary as my husband has eliminated what could have been a HUGE source of stress and conflict. I can afford to buy everything I want, and so can he, and of all the things that might one day cause conflict, it will never be because we are financially obligated to one another.

Lol, I have no experience with maskfishing but I have been in a pottery class for a few months now. When I started we had a strict masks-on policy, and then in that brief part of the summer where we were all hoping to be past COVID we were masks off for a bit. It was shocking how different people looked than I was expecting! Back to masks now, though :<

The only wall we hit is the wall of not giving a fuck what the scrotes think... And they want to keep us imprisoned in that wall as long as they can 🤣
