A quick way to check your posture, if you're standing up, is to see where your thumbs are pointing when your hands are hanging at your sides. If they're pointing straight ahead, that probably means your shoulders are back and and you're standing up straight. (This is good.) If the thumbs are pointing towards each other across the body, it probably means you're a little bit hunched over. (This is not good.)

I agree with what's already been said about Drinker's West and the Old City (2nd St.) area. My favorite place in old city is National Mechanics. Other places that could be good for meeting people are Lucy's and Plough and the Stars, but they are extremely loud and crowded on the weekends. I also like Triumph, but that has more of a "pub" feel. Lately I've been spending more time in the center city area. Good places to meet people are Fado, and Irish Pub, Tavern on Broad, Continental Midtown, Bob…
