I'm an older guy (50). I know this woman... we used to date and have really great sex. She's my same age. I ended it, because she complained endlessly about how much we didn't see each other. (I have kids from a previous marriage AND have a bunch of interests/friends,so my "spare" time is limited.) She is so caught up (still) in the fantasy of finding the "one", that she won't allow herself to simply have fun sex. If it's not "meaningful", she'd rather sit at home and be depressed. It freaking p…

I'm talking about "toxic" shame. The kind religions are built on. As the catterpiller chooses the fairest leaves to lay her eggs, so the priest lays his curse on the fairest joys. -Blake

Women still do prove their worth. Good points!

Sounds like a lot of work. What happened to love? Do you see women doing the same work to get men? It IS a lot of work. Our society has historically required men to "prove" their worth. Women do not have to try or prove anything, they just say "No" until a guy a think is hot comes their way. Courtship (seduction) is what you do until Love comes along. If it does...

I think meditation fosters a more detached outlook. Detached from emotions (e.g., insecurity) and outcomes, it's a lot easier to deal with life in general, and ladies in particular.

I also paid alimony for 3 years. Well into the 2nd year, my ex was trying to BUY A HOUSE! and called to ask me if I would continue to giver her the extra $750/month for another year. It would "help her get the loan." I just laughed. Edit: forgot to mention my alimony-induced bankruptcy.

I feel very fortunate that I get to be with my kids on a regular basis. However, my ex gets almost half my take-home pay. She does not understand the concept of CHILD support. To her, she deserves that money, since I chose to divorce her wacky, abusive asexual ass.

After some discussion about this, and reflection, I now realize that this particular woman has always acted like making me come is an accomplishment. (i.e., she is validated by it) I never knew that this was a thing for (some) women. I didn't comfort her, since (despite her tears) the main emotion she was expressing toward me was anger. I couldn't understand why she was pissed. In retrospect, as we were making out, I should have told her about my exercise, instead of springing it on her. However…

I was doing a spiritual exercise recently, the point was to not orgasm, but just experience the energy. Anyway, I was banging this plate, she had already cum twice and was begging me to cum. I said "I'm not going to" and smirked at her. She got all bent out of shape, looks like I just kicked her dog. I climbed off and and just looked at her. She rolled over and started to cry. I sat on the edge of the bed watching her, thinking that she reminded me of a 5 year-old. Realized that I was done with …

Male dependency disgusts women. So true. I blew out my ACL and my ex-wife couldn't stand being in the hospital room. She was visibly disgusted that I was injured.

The instructors at my gym were very right-wing political. I am a centrist, and I got tired of hearing that crap. I go to train and don't really give a flip about my instructor's view of gun control, etc. I used to do a lot of Hatha yoga, and I found the same problem there, in the opposite direction. I'm 50. Past BP'er, began the conversion process to RP about 2 years ago. I'm deeply involved in turning my entire life around, but mental frame is my main priority at this point. I do a LOT of meditation and yoga, and am transitioning from Krav to Brazilian JJ. At the moment, I don't have time for even 1 plate. (I have 3 kids and an unstable ex on top of all my stuff). However, when the time comes (and it will), I don't foresee any difficulty (or a "wall.") I'm surrounded by young women at work…

Fortunately, the quarterly bonuses compensate pretty well for the drop in salary... but child support (which SHE lives on) is 37% of my bi-weekly take home. The funny thing about "child support" is this. It doesn't go into a fund for the kids, it goes to the mom. It's Mom support, which the kids get fed/clothed from. EDIT: Grammar

My child support was based upon my working 50-55 hours per week, hourly. My company restructured and now I am salaried at the equivalent of 40 hours per week. I get quarterly bonuses, but I still have to go in debt every quarter to just pay the bills. Ex-wife stays at home and baby-sits for a little extra money. She makes the equivalent of $40k a year, for doing nothing.

Emotions: I had no idea what I was feeling or even that I WAS feeling something. Therefore, they came out "sideways" (Classic passive-aggressive.) Doing psycho-drama and "shadow work" allowed me to learn to feel AND express my emotions. I find the Jungian model to be flexible and helpful.

I'm guy A. Just finished with spousal support of 3 years. (Fuck yeah!) I've still got 2 kids and 10 years of child support to go. I love my kids and work very hard to maintain my frame, however, she KNOWS that when push comes to shove, I'll be there for them. So she can still manipulate to some degree.

Yoga class seems like such a great place. am surprised more single guys don't do it. Fuck lifting to meet a girl someday, go do yoga and meet women now. Better yet, do both! The guys that do show up tend to be skinny betas. Muscles stand out.

My 1st goes to the same yoga studio that I do. It's pretty well known that we have something going. I was the only guy in our yoga class last night (~20 women). I made a comment and a 30-something in the front row glanced back at me.I stared right into her eyes until she turned away. Then she glanced back. Fun times ahead. :)

This is not love, this is emotional need. When you feel this way, you should take it as a warning sign and get away. I suggest therapy (not medication) and an extended time of being single.
/r/becomeaman02/07/14 08:54 PM

Yes. I work at a male-dominated engineering firm. The meetings are ridiculous, because many of these guys are super betas with no decent home life. They will literally shoot the shit for an hour before talking about the project. Some of the VPs will spend all day in meetings and I bet half of that time is taken up telling stories and joking around. Painful.

I hardly think stereotypes about clothing are worth an ISM. I personally hate wearing socks or tucking in my shirt. Women do that at my office all the time. Growing up in the 70's, women wanted to be treated as equals but still have men buy the dinner and movie tickets. I left a marriage due to the same dichotomy. Dating in that age group I run into it as well. The women may make more money that me, but still expect me to wine and dine. And they are unable to see the issue. TRP has opened my eyes.

That's actually a great question. It's process, as I've only been RP'ing for about a year. So far the list is: A) You are not a princess B) There are big differences between men and women C) Once puberty hits, you can't be friends with a straight guy. You think he's a friend, but he really wants to be your boyfriend. At best, you're misleading him if you let it continue. Yet to be discussed: A) You'll be attracted to bad/tough/Alpha boys B) Get a career and hobbies that only involve you

I recently confronted (privately) a female youth leader for publicly shaming my teenage daughter for wearing a "too short" dress. My sole intent was let her know that publicly "correcting" my daughter wasn't going to be tolerated. I did NOT even discuss whether her appraisal of the dress was right or wrong. She reacted like I had slapped her. She essentially said that it was between her and my daughter. I very calmly and firmly repeated my request that she not do it anymore. She crumbled and sai…

I'm a big fan of Way of Men. Started taking Krav Maga after reading it. Tom Brown is one of a kind. You have to do the work to make his Field Guide worthwhile. It's one thing to read about starting a fire by hand, it's a very different thing to actually do it. blisters.

Enthusiasm is the key ingredient. I've been with a handful of women who gave enthusiastic head. A chic moaning while doing that sends me over the edge every time. EDIT: Overall, most women are similar, a few are enthusiastic and that makes sex better.

Divorced father of 4 here. I was never "allowed" in the kitchen, since it was my wife's "domain." I grew a pair and left. I've been divorced 3 years and cooking up a storm for the last 6 months. Practicing game when you're dirt poor, suffering from low self-esteem/depression/lack of confidence, don't have enough food in the fridge or whatever is retarded, you're placing a "less immediate need" higher in priority than the shit that matters. Checking out women (objectifying) is a turn-on and taps into the same channel that porn does. If you're trying to not fap, keeping your eyes off of attractive women (in real life or otherwise) is one way to keep your drive down.

The 12-step programs that involve sex (and the burgeoning field of sex therapists who serve them) spout a lot of feminism in my experience. I spent several years in that world, until I realized that my issues had more to do with staying in a dysfunctional marriage than 'addiction.' That was long before I found RP. I'm not bashing 12-step programs. They seem to help a lot of people.
