That’s just not how the criminal justice system works. It’s not going to hold up in court. The confession may not even be allowed into evidence at all during a criminal trial. How are they saying that veterans are "over-represented"? They are giving statistics for their specific area. And by the way, only 1% of people are veterans, so them making up 11% of the homeless population is a big issue. I don't know why you feel the need to get butthurt and play mental gymnastics with statistics as if they're only being stated to harm you. It's pretty strange. I'm also a man, a veteran, and I have been homeless. There are real issues to worry about out there, you know.

I am all for rehabilitation, but when it comes to protecting the perpetrator or protecting future victims I think the answer is an obvious one. Rehabilitation isn't guaranteed to work. The point in your edit is a good one, but that doesn't change the fact that being accused of rape can really fuck someone up regardless of whether or not they are actually prosecuted for it.
