What's the deal with cohabitation?

I actually can see this point and it makes sense. Your wife is sad and depressed. I have a feeling she would cope much bettee if she started working.

I'm actually sympathetic to you. I pay way more than you and only have about 2500 after it's all done. To be honest I have no more desire to live and will end myself soon. So yes I understand you. And I feel sorry for us. I tried really hard to be a good father and work hard but I can't live with 2500 in my city as I eat only pizza and live in a bedroom. So as I said, I understand you. I'm so sorry.

Whoever says 'I wear the pants in this house' first.

Hey first I understand your plight. And I mean well. You will get through it and what's done is done. But one thing I gotta mention is if being in the farm was destroying your relationship and that was the ONLY thing, you should have gone back to the city. Sometimes we must leave our home and our parents or grandparents because now you have your own family to take care of. Now I'm not saying that your ex was all correct but I can kind of see her side too. Anyways you'll be fine. You have the kid…

Thank you. This does mMe sense and I'm a real frugal person so it might not be so bad?

This is true. Thanks for your perspective

Yes but the child support in NYC plus daycare is insanely expensive right? . More so than living with the kid.

Wow such an incredible story on your part. Keep your head up we can go through it together!

This is so true. I don't think I'll pay much alimony. Just split it half my money

No, but sounds like a good lawyer.

She doesn't want to marry you. She wants to marry. Get it? She needs a safety net.

This is why I don't live in Cali. Live in NY instead.

Preach this guys. Make sure men don't get married. Unless he's your enemy. Then bless em.

Just talk. No need to resort to music on first date.

One advice. Do not play Tupac on your first date.

This surprises me a bit. But not a whole lot. If it was Buffet I would've been more surprised. Anyways I think there's something to be said about marriage when these people like gates and bezos divorce. Stay away!

I've heard of common law. In fact I know it very well. If you live in states that have it that is. And not every state has it.

Why not live together?

Know what I learned? Lawyer is useless. Judge is the ultimate guy who judges anything. A lawyer can't guarantee anything more than your puppy can. But you pay 250 an hour for that lawyer.

Seems like she got confused with some key words. "You should've left ME and found another one where you MEANT more" There. Fixed it.

I wouldn't marry. That way you keep your whole pension

Hope you men learn to make sure to teach your sons to never marry. Start a movement.

This is brutal. Brutal as fuck. Insane. Tell your wife don't get this low.

You know what you have to do men? Be heard. Get on Twitter. Get on Instagram. Get on YouTube. Just yell it every fucking day on these platforms. Don't just write it on reddit like a loser. Start a movement. If you're facing jail time or gonna be a bum what's there to lose. This is harassment and how men get raped financially.

Lighten up. It was a joke. Yes ask her directly. If you divorce you'll always wonder, if you don't. So yes ask her everything before the divorce.

Must've been pretty small if you had to measure it 4 times.

Sorry to break it to ya but that's how much divorce costs. Actually 5k is a blessing. Sorry you have to go through it. =(
/r/Divorce_Men20/01/21 07:47 PM

Easy. Forget her and divorce. You'll be happy in 5 years.

no cs?
/r/Divorce_Men01/01/21 07:56 AM

Damn, 600. I wish mine was that. My ex wanted 2300 a month. But why would you back pay? Child support only starts once it starts by filing and getting a number from Judge.

I would advise against my kids marrying in this day and age.
/r/Divorce_Men25/11/20 03:12 PM

This is why you should teach your sons to never marry when they grow up. Shoot, having a kid but never being married is better than doing the whole cycle.
/r/Divorce_Men16/09/20 03:06 AM

This is what I realized. Lawyers don't mean anything in divorce. It's the almighty judge and what he had for lunch that day.

What do you do for career

I don't have a child with her so no alimony. Just one time payment.
/r/Divorce_Men06/06/20 03:45 PM

She cheated 2 years before me. I just didn't have evidence if that helps and had only her denial. I'm not asking for judgment. But it does hurt when you lose 75% of your wealth.
/r/Divorce_Men06/06/20 06:24 AM
1

Well I guess the 67%is kind of those terms. She feels like in court she could get that plus 3 year support. Or something like that.
/r/Divorce_Men17/04/20 07:52 AM

67% of my cash and 401k. My only asset is cash and 401k
/r/Divorce_Men17/04/20 04:21 AM

No not yet but only because I'm paying it
/r/Divorce_Men13/04/20 01:10 AM

But you can't stop paying her when you're the bread maker. You have to do temporary spousal support
/r/Divorce_Men12/04/20 08:25 PM

That's great to hear. Thank you
/r/Divorce_Men12/04/20 06:47 PM

Can you explain this
/r/Divorce_Men12/04/20 07:29 AM
1

But 10 years won't make me do spousal support?
/r/Divorce_Men12/04/20 05:14 AM
1

I am in this situation. To stay out of court i have to give her 67% which is a ton of money. Way more than 100k. Do I just give it all and close my eyes? I have no kids. My story is in my post.
/r/Divorce_Men12/04/20 03:09 AM

Of course, this girl I found is the one. So you think 67 -33 split is insane? Don't you think i'll save more money by skipping court and skpping 3 years spousal support?
/r/Divorce_Men12/04/20 02:56 AM
1

Yes I do have a lawyer and I pay for hers too. Damn, I pay for everything. My lawyer says dont' worry when mediation comes we can handle it there, but i'm scared to go that far because I think she'll just refuse to mediate and go to court and since I cheated and we've been married for 10 years. What happens if I have to give spousal support for 5 years on top of 60% total assets.
