I agree. My mother is one of the most narcissistic people on the planet. I haven’t spoken to her in 8 years. Why the heck should I need her permission to do anything?

100% this. Women live in the moment and constantly change their minds about everything. Concepts like delayed gratification and long term planning are not a part of their vocabulary because they’ve gotten away with being impulsive their entire lives as society has created unlimited safety nets for them than men don’t have.

This is why I see all gender conscription to be a step in the right direction. As counterintuitive as it might seem, it is actually a stepping stone towards abolishment.

The ONLY situation where this could be a true statement is a woman who has no children, genetically gifted to look much younger than her true age. She focused on her career and went from being broke student in her 20s to being a high income earner in her early 30s. She is willing to be a breadwinner and is looking for a man who is a modest earner, but willing to spend more time being a dad to their future kids. However, this is incredibly rare. A woman like this is a unicorn.

It’s the same way companies try to poach employees from competitors (who may only just be mediocre) rather than hire from outside the industry because they don’t want to spend the time, effort, and money to vet a huge pool of applicants and try to identify and train outside talent.

I think this is where women fundamentally don’t understand men. If I’m happily married to a 6.5/10 (physical attractiveness) woman with an amazing personality and solid values, I’m not going to actively seek out a 7/10 or 8/10 woman just so I can divorce my wife and “move up” the ladder. That’s what women do. Women are trying to project their preferences and tendencies onto men. Women (whether single or taken) are constantly presented with options, and as soon as they find a man who appears to b…

Seriously, I’m sick of women with like 50% body fat complaining than men are shallow. There are a lot of good programs out there to lose weight. A short guy on the other hand is screwed, unless he gets painful surgery that costs like $40,000 and takes a year to recover.

The funny thing I have noticed is that most women who empathize with men’s rights issues are just very realistic and pragmatic. Not “pick me” at all. Women who give off “pick me” vibes are the ones who are trying to exploit men for personal gain.

It’s not about being supportive. It’s whether they will weaponize your stories and emotions that you shared with them against you. When I tell bros about some problems, some will shrug it off and not seem to care. Kinda sucks, but certainly not as bad as when women have used it against me to hurt me in every future argument. My mom and I haven’t spoken in 7 years. My bros say, “man that sucks sorry” and move on to the next topic. Women say, “what’s wrong with you?”

A good rule of thumb for me is, “Would I intervene and help this person even if it was a man?” If the answer is yes, then I absolutely try to help whether it’s a woman, a man, or a they (as safely as possible). Examples: Someone trapped in a car after an accident, someone drowning in a swimming pool, someone bleeding after being attacked by an animal, etc. However, any situation where I’m not helping a man, I’m not helping a woman either. Examples: Someone with a flat tire or other non-accident …

100% agree. Anyone can accidentally find themselves in a shitty relationship. But if this is her 6th boyfriend who is physically abusive? Then she really needs to reevaluate her taste in men.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/23 08:56 PM

I don’t think a lot of women date down. It may seem like it, because a lot of times you go out and see a very average looking or even unattractive looking man with a hot wife. But what you don’t see is that usually that man is very wealthy or powerful. You might see some random fat bald guy with a hot milf wife and 2 kids out shopping on the holidays. Yup, watching TV or reading a book while an appliance is running shouldn’t count as “chore time”. 100 years ago, it was a very different story, as washing clothes was a very tedious and manual process. Today? Not so much. Even stuff like vacuuming nowadays can be delegated to a roomba.

The entire premise of the OP is cap. The only notable person who dumps women when they turn 25 is Leo DiCaprio. And that’s probably only because he’s a narcissist, a multimillionaire, and also has a never ending supply of women under 25 who want to be his next girlfriend. This is not even remotely close to reality for most men. The majority of men just want a loyal woman to build a future together with.

I’m not Indian, but I think some Indian guys really got dealt a shitty hand in life because while the caste system is not “officially” a thing anymore, a lot of people within Indian culture still unofficially use it. I don’t think that’s the main issue. People aren’t just hot or ugly. There’s a sliding scale. The top people are very hot/attractive. Then you have people you find somewhat cute or mildly attractive. There’s also people you feel indifferent about. And finally, you have people you find unattractive, repulsive, and/or ugly. I think many women at some point in their life came across a guy (classmate, coworker, friend of a friend, neighbor, etc.) where he expressed interest in her, and she said “hm,…

I think they are saying that once you hit a certain age, the attractive guys who are still single and available are less likely to be good guys. The idea being that those who are both attractive and good people are already mostly taken.

There’s nothing logical about cheating. I think aside from serial cheaters, most people feel some inkling of regret, unless they actually intend to leave their partner. Having a full blown affair is one thing. But I think a hookup with a “sleazy 304” is usually someone giving into their irrational horny thoughts, and then they will feel pretty stupid once that post nut clarity hits.

Being overweight is normalized way more today than any other time in history, so any woman who isn’t morbidly obese shouldn’t have an issue finding a guy as long as her expectations are realistic. The latter part is usually the problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/23 03:27 AM

The women who “wake up” and figure out this reality sooner than later usually find a reasonably decent guy to be with. The ones who can’t figure it out until they are 40+ basically missed the boat and will be stranded on the lonely island or have to massively settle for a below average guy (which rarely happens, they’d rather complain that there’s no good men left).

But you’re actually self aware of the situation and what’s going on. And that’s fine; nothing wrong with that. However, many others will just keep complaining that there’s no one left, while in complete denial about their own unrealistic expectations.

I think the idea that abusive, misogynistic, manipulative, and unfaithful men who happen to be physically attractive are able to find partners with minimal effort is the most frustrating for the majority of men. An acquaintance of mine is a such guy (even has a felony on his record), and he has 4 baby mommas who are constantly fighting each other to become his main woman. It’s unbelievable.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/11/23 04:28 PM

I agree with you both that making it a societal standard for both women and men to make the first move on someone they are interested in would be beneficial to most people. I was a total clueless virgin in high school (until 2nd year of college), and two of my female friends from HS told me years later “you know I kinda had a thing for you in high school but you never made a move.” And that’s the most absurd thing. All they had to do was say something and the problem would have been solved.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/11/23 04:23 PM

The contradiction I see is the many women who will date cheaters, abusers, misogynists, womanizers, etc with the “I can fix him” mentality only because they find him physically attractive. It’s basically impossible to “fix” this type of man, but woman after woman will continue to try even after seeing all of his previous partners fail. The irony is that it’s probably way easier to take a guy who is not physically attractive looking, but otherwise a great person (in terms of personality and value…

Actually you bring up a good point. A lot of women have fairly closely knit social groups of 6-8 of them. Often, the only men who are involved in that social group are a husband/boyfriend of one of them, or a token gay male friend. The only way for a somewhat normal/average outsider (straight male) to gain access to that social group is if the husband/boyfriend invites him in, and his wife/girlfriend approves. However, the husband/boyfriend is putting his reputation on the line and his relations…

As a guy in my mid-30s, I can say at some point my (male) friends and I have all gotten to the point where we’ve all had sex with at least a handful of women and also have been in at least one bad long term relationship with a woman. Of course if some unbelievably hot woman is within our proximity we will take notice, and may even point it out. But generally speaking, we have all become way more apathetic about interacting with women compared to when we were in our early 20s.

You’re wrong. Scroll down to “sex by race” and this one actually says 55% of white women voted for Trump. My point is you can be mad at the red pill incels all you want, but maybe you should also be looking at your peers (other women; religious or otherwise) and asking them why they are voting for politicians who support forced birth. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-elections/exit-polls/
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/23 04:30 PM

The GOP are actively taking away women’s reproductive rights, yet 53% of white women voted for Trump. Explain that. How is that the fault of black pill? The majority of white women are voting against their own best interests. Did men hold a gun to their head and force them to vote for republicans?

Being voluntarily celibate is a lot different than being involuntarily celibate. Meaning, a lot of the women who are refraining from sex are being selective about choosing their partner. That is far different than a man who literally has nobody to choose from.

You are absolutely right. These studies have arbitrary cutoffs that skew results badly. People here often say, “but the average age gap is only 2.3 years” without understanding how sampling and distributions work. Like you said, if the age range of the study is arbitrarily 18-29, then all those women in their late 20s who are married or in relationships with men in their early 30s are going to make the data look very skewed. The survey data would only be accurate if there was a follow up, where they ask someone: “Are you in a relationship?” I’d they say yes, there need to be a follow up question of “with whom?” And then the the study should contact the alleged partner in the relationship and ask them, “Are you in a relationship?” I would bet this level of follow up would reveal there was an asymmetry of opinion between the two individuals in a non-trivial amount of those surveyed.

When people in a marriage become unhappy, often it leads to divorce. Therefore they would no longer be classified as married. Therefore anyone who is identifying as currently married is more likely to be in a happier phase of their marriage. If you survey all men (and women) who have been previously married but not currently married, they may have a much different view about marriage and happiness than those who are currently married. I remember reading some article a long time ago where the author said she was attracted to men who had many partners. But then one of them gave her an STD and then she changed her preference to men who didn’t sleep around so much. Made me wonder: are women really that stupid?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/23 10:57 PM

Correct. A lot of men have a height preference, but it’s not a dealbreaker. But for most women, height below a certain threshold is an absolute dealbreaker for them. They could find a man who fits all of their other criteria, but reject him because he’s 2” below her arbitrary threshold.

I don’t think the calculator is off. Just running some rough numbers though my head… 5’9 alone brings it down to 50%. Then add white and maybe you’re down to 30%. Half of men are overweight (not sure how they definite obese), so now you’re down to 15%. 50k is median pay, so you’re down to 7.5%. Then you gotta exclude all the guys already married. I’m sure a lot of guys 35-45 are married. Let’s say half of them are… now we’re at 3.75% Still higher than 2.8% but we’re in the ballpark.

I think if given the following choices: A man who is less educated but makes more money A man who is more educated but makes less money If all else were equal (looks, height, personality, politics, etc) most women would choose option 1 than option 2 to marry and start a family with.

Yeah but the fact that she slept with 30+ of them obviously means that hooking up still has SOME value to her. Otherwise, she would just reject them all and not have sex. The truth of the matter is that humans get horny and need to get off every now and then, and having easy access to partners does have its advantages. Again, it’s easy to say that something has no value when you have unlimited access to it. The person who can’t have it at all is still going to want it.

It would be a better analogy if all women had an insatiable desire to become really muscular and strong, but they struggle at the gym while men walk in and easily bench and curl more weight than them. The reality is most women don’t give 2 shits about being strong and muscular so it’s not a really good analogy.

While casual sex may not mean much to a woman who can easily get it, I’m sure the most hideous and ugly looking people (both men and women) are envious because they literally get ZERO attention from anybody and have to come to terms with being forever alone. Everything is relative. Someone with only $1,000 in their bank account probably thinks they are poor and struggling, but the homeless person with only $5 in their pocket and no bank account feels like having $1,000 would be life changing mon…

Well that’s good. You’re solid in your conviction to your beliefs. There are plenty of women though who do put up with husbands like that, because they rather tolerate being with a wealthy man child than go to work.

This is accurate, most women have either: Never been hit at all. Only been hit by other women. Have been hit by a man, but one who somewhat held back. They have 0 clue how hard a strong man can punch if he doesn’t restrain himself. They also watch too many movies and shows where female protagonists take heavy hits from male antagonists and then somehow proceed to destroy him in hand to hand combat. Unfortunately for them, Hollywood is not reality.

It’s all relative though. If I was Chris Hemsworth, I could say “let’s go watch paint dry for our first date” and there would be women signing up to do that. But I’m just your normal dude. Lol what? It absolutely will help weed out the bottom of the barrel scavengers if a woman doesn’t have sex on the first date. If a dude sticks around for 4-5 dates then he’s most likely looking for more than a single lay. However, i think after 5+ dates holding out for additional dates won’t make much of a difference. Sex on the 6th date vs waiting for the 10th date will not really weed out anymore assholes. If some guy is really going for the long con, and he’s had the patience for 6 dates with…

Unless you imply most women are artists, that makes no sense. It’s not that I can’t find girls. I do go on dates occasionally, but it’s so fucking cost prohibitive. I’ll spend like $250 on a night (dinner + some fun activity afterwards) and they just act like it’s a “standard date” and it should be a given for me to spend that much. That’s kind of what the OP was getting at.

I’ve been to the mutter museum. I guess it’s kinda cool, but again it’s not something I’m gonna shell out money to see twice. You sound like an artsy guy, so it makes sense. Art is just not my thing. I like other things. For example, going to the comedy club. Tickets to a show at helium are like $75 a person whenever anyone remotely funny is performing. I like bowling. 1 hour for a lane at lucky strike for 2 people is $52. It’s just fucking ridiculous.

No, most of them (that I went to school with anyways) are married and have families now. Also, magical gardens says $15 per adult. $30 for an art museum is just not for me. I’m not into art like that.

Single women in the era of swiping right and left on apps have changed a lot. I’m 35 now but I remember when I was 20, women in their early 20s were a lot more chill. Now all women in their 20s and even early 30s have some extraordinary expectations of men showering them with gifts or expensive experiences because of what they’ve seen on social media.

Dude you have no idea. I’ve been in Philly since 2008. In the last 5 years alone prices everywhere have DOUBLED. We’re like “New York light” now. It’s not the affordable city that you think it is. I have a very basic small 1 bedroom apartment and my rent is $2,000 a month. Edit: Pho hasn’t been $10 since like 2015-2016. Most places charge like $18.95 for a bowl of pho. Edit 2: yeah we have lots of microbreweries. They charge like $10 for a pint of whatever stupid IPA they brew.

You said women becoming more educated meant that female hypergamy was on the decline. But studies have shown that’s not true. They just find less educated men who make lots of money. For example, a licensed electrician in my state makes like $150k a year. A woman with a master’s degree in liberal arts most likely makes a lot less than that. So if they marry, even though she’s more educated, he’s still the breadwinner.

I’m simply saying that women have the OPTION to marry up because a lot of men willing to marry down exist. However, men don’t even have the OPTION to marry up because the women willing to marry down don’t exist. Sure, I’m sure there are women willing to have short term relationships and flings with cute guys who are perpetually unemployed, but that’s not the same as marrying or being in a long term committed relationship.

While I don’t really agree with OP, I also disagree with your last sentence, “Who would date someone they have to pay everything for?” Female hypergamy is prevalent enough that there are many relationships where the man pays for everything. You almost never see it the opposite way though. Male hypergamy is almost nonexistent.

For real, unless you’re already pushing 6’6”+ (then being too tall becomes a thing) an extra inch of height will always help you get more women’s attention. Extra muscles always helps too, unless you’re looking like Phil Heath (then you’re too jacked for most women). Neither of these things are a requirement, but it sure doesn’t hurt to be taller or more muscular. Unless you’re in the top 1-2% in either category already.

There a huge range of strength disparity between men. The world record strongmen and powerlifters are without exaggeration like 500% stronger than your typical adult man who doesn’t train or exercise. The calculators are largely useless. Suppose you set two parameters: makes $200k+ and willing to do 50% of the time and effort to do chores, errands, and child raising. Suppose 5% of men make 200k and some survey says 50% of men are willing to split duties equally at home. Common logic might lead people to think 2.5% of men for both criteria. But this is wrong. Yes. So if you do “exclude obese” then it will exclude all those men and give you a much lower % than it should. Edit: I’m saying I don’t think the calculator is accurate if you use the “exclude obese” option.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 03:25 PM
3

The calculators assume all variables are independent. However, many variables are actually inversely correlated. The calculators don’t seem to account for this. High income earner? Probably less likely to be someone who cooks and does chores around the house proficiently. Extremely fit and physically attractive? Probably less likely to be humble. Calculators currently don’t account for such dynamics.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 03:24 PM
3

This is correct. People think, 10% of the population fit my criteria, that’s 1 out of 10 people, why is it so hard to find a bf/gf/spouse? The part of the equation they are missing is once they encounter someone who fits that criteria, what is the probability that YOU fit THEIR standards and that both of you are currently available? Suddenly, once you factor those things into the equation, 10% might suddenly become 0.5%. Hence the incredible frustration that people face.

I think BMI in general overstates the severity of the obesity epidemic. I’d venture as far to say if you took all the men who are classified as “obese” according to BMI, you’d find that at least 1/3 of them don’t look obese at all. At least not the way most people think of obese (think of the Nutty Professor - that’s what most people consider obese).
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 03:11 PM
2

The way obesity is calculated is misleading. All it does it compare height and weight. There are a non-trivial number of men who are categorized as “obese” but don’t actually look obese. Men who have muscular frames but a little bit more fat than they used to as a high school or college athlete often end up being officially “obese” but have reasonable looking builds. Think “dad bod” where the guy has broad shoulders and big biceps but doesn’t have abs.

Or suppose she finds a guy who dedicates all his time to making money and he earns $300k a year. That’s great. However, he’s most likely going to be less available emotionally and even physically because he’s so mentally drained and exhausted from spending so mu…

The ability to grow a decent beard to hide a jawline is genetic and only a fraction (way less than half) of the adult male population can do that. That’s like saying to a short guy, why don’t you just be tall? He can’t. It’s genetic. Wearing long pants at the beach or at a July 4th BBQ party in hot summer weather? Everyone would think he’s a weirdo and judge really harshly. A bald guy can wear a hat until he’s at a fancy restaurant, a funeral, or someone’s wedding that has a no-hat dress code. T…

Yes, the average American is def more overweight than the average Brit. At least that’s what I concluded when I visited England and Scotland.

Ok fair enough. It would have been a bit more clear if it wasn’t a video of like 8 dudes lol. Even so, the most average looking guy in that group is definitely above the average guy in the general male population, even once you factor in age and race. The average white guy in that age group is gonna be chubbier, less muscular, shorter, and have more pimples on their face than the 4th ranked guy in that group of 8.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 03:12 AM

You said when you imagine “an average white guy” you think about the guys in this group. That statement to me implies that the average of this group should be average.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 03:06 AM

I am using a 0-10 scale. According to you there are is one really good looking guy (8 or 9), one pretty good looking guy (7 or 8), and 6 average looking guys (4-6), and no ugly guys (0-3). Therefore if you have 6 average dudes, one good looking guy, and one really good looking guy, as a group they are well over average. How is this so difficult to understand? If the group was truly average they would need 2 ugly guys to balance out the 2 good looking guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 02:57 AM
2

Clearly you don’t understand statistics. If the highest guy is a 9 and the lowest guy is a 4, then the group on AVERAGE is about a 6 or 7. Which is above 5. FFS.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 02:52 AM

Ok so not a single one of those guys you’d rate as 0-3. Therefore as a group, you admit they are above average.

I’m 35 and I work in a male dominated blue collar industry. Talk like that is not nearly as common as you believe. Most actually average guys are just happy to go on a date and ecstatic when they get laid, even if the woman wasn’t particularly good looking.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 02:19 AM

I agree that they are mostly taller than average. In terms of weight and build, the chubbiest guy is probably around average, and the rest of them above average. Facially I’d say they are above average (as a group). Even the worst looking one still has a fairly symmetrical face with reasonable positioning of eyes, nose size, reasonable teeth, etc. none of them are actually ugly. So in this sample of 8 guys I think at least 6 of them are well above average. And you said 6 have girlfriends. Comple…

Correct. And nobody thinks that the “average” is the apex. Everyone knows that average is well below the apex. That’s why I don’t believe that theory is really the best explanation for this.

I don’t know. It sounds like you haven’t actually been in a locker room with a bunch of men. I played many high school and college sports. It’s usually quite the opposite — guys bragging about getting laid. Critiquing the woman who he scored with actually reduces the value of his “accomplishment” — if anything they exaggerate how good it was.

I know what you’re saying, but that’s not what apex fallacy means (afaik). Apex fallacy is applying characteristics of individuals or a small sample size and assuming the entire set share those characteristics. Apex fallacy would be like Rapunzel seeing the handsome prince for the first time and then incorrectly assuming that all men are handsome like the prince. Women who think above average men are average are doing something different, which is completely disregarding that the bottom half of …

I don’t even think “how much work” is the issue here. Rather, it’s literally wrong advice being given. For example, a woman might say, “Average guys should just go out and be themselves. Eventually the right woman will take notice of you.” This advice is probably good for someone in the 75th percentile, which is who the woman probably thinks of when she says “average” guy. However, for some guy who is literally average (50th percentile), this advice is completely useless for him, as women will l…

I don’t think this is exactly accurate. Apex fallacy (from an American college student’s perspective) would be something like, “Wow, these two exchange students from Australia are really attractive, therefore people from Australia must be attractive.”
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 01:50 AM

My standards for who is attractive enough to sleep with or date does not affect my understanding of what an average woman objectively looks like. My OP was not at all about people’s standards for who they would date, but rather what their perception of “average” is vs the reality of what it is.

The entire point of this thread was that women use makeup and other methods to artificially enhance their physical attractiveness and it’s completely accepted and normalized to do so. On the other hand, when men use shoe lifts or in your case a toupee/wig/top piece to artificially make themselves look better, women are generally not as accepting of it. Therefore, men who were not winners of the generic lottery have less options to improve their physical appearance without being ostracized for it…

So you’re saying if a guy wore a wig to many dates with you and then revealed it wasn’t his real hair, you’d be upset about it. That’s precisely proving the opposite point of what you think you’re proving.

Sure, we as men could put makeup on. But then most women would assume we’re gay or a weirdo in general. Until makeup usage by men becomes accepted by mainstream society, there will always be a downside to using it.

I disagree. If any woman fits the description of “young, thin, and pretty” men in general will not call them “average” — they might say stuff like “she’s not hot, but she cute” or even make more crass remarks like “I’d f— but not wife her” but all of these things imply that she’s above the statistically average looking women imo.

Assuming they got off the app and texted before they met up, that’s when she should/could have disclosed her intentions. Instead, by not doing so, both people ended up wasting their time and feeling salty about it later.

Both parties fucked up. The woman should have been up front about what she was doing (working). The man should have been a little bit more skeptical that everything was playing out like a perfect dream.

I think women also need to do a better job of communicating their expectations. I went on 3 dates with someone and later that night she texted me that she was upset that I did NOT kiss her after the 3rd date. The reason I didn’t is because I thought she didn’t want to move fast and she made no indication that she wanted a kiss. Wtf? If she wanted to kiss then why can’t she just ask me if we can kiss? (I would have said yes.) Why is it my job as the man to always have to read a woman’s mind and a…

One of my exes was bi. When she cheated on me with another woman I didn’t really get that upset. After all, I wasn’t equipped with the same tools that another woman could provide her with. It was like trying to compare apples to oranges. But then she cheated on me with a man. That was crossing the line and I broke up with her. However, that was the moment I learned that this is why all cheating is bad and you shouldn’t forgive any form of it.

That’s me. I’m 5’10” barefoot and that’s what I put in my profile and tell everyone my height is. However, if I’m going out with a taller (over 5’8”) woman in a setting where she’s likely to be wearing heels, I’ll wear my lifts. It gives me just enough of an edge where I’m not gonna be shorter standing next to her. If going out with someone much shorter, then I will definitely not bother doing this.

I’m 5’10” but I own a pair of dress shoes with really thick insoles (adds about 2”) — I went out with a 5’8” woman who was lamenting that her heels would make her taller than me. So I said “watch this” and put the shoes on. I was now about an inch above her. She was actually very happy that I had those shoes.
