I’m not, in fact the opposite. A lot of the posts I’ve seen about monk mode seem to mention NoFap, which I understand is important, but some of them mention like not ejaculating at all and I never understood why. Clearly most things are okay in moderation, right?

Sorry about that, I didn't want to make the post as personal and more as a starter for open discussion. My reason for Monk Mode isn't about a sex addiction or a result of oneitis. For me, it's about becoming a completely happy and content person and learning to live with and eventually solve the problems I have and may encounter in the future without having to pretend like they don't exist in order to get past them

From my experience as a 25 year old with a nice car (comparative to other people my age), a lot of it depends on just that: how you compare to others in your age range. I bought a new Subaru BRZ in 2017 which is by no means a “luxury” car, but compared to my friends and other people I’ve talked to/hung out with in my age range, I have the nicest car, so that increases my SMV a tad. It just depends on your goals. I feel slightly bad about living at home until I’m 30 but by that point I’ll have achieved a lot of goals and can accomplish things that improve my SMV like owning a house instead of renting or not having any debt and can spend all my money after living expenses on whatever.

I've lived in the Midwest my whole life but I feel my "attitude" is more akin to those places such as New York, or in my case, LA where I plan to buy a house in, but all I've known my whole life is that it's an oddity to not have a kid or a family by even my age, let alone in 5 years when I'm 30. ​ I guess my goal is be able to still spin plates at 30 but I think my idea of that is more pessimistic just because I feel like 30 is too old.

Best of luck to you bro. You can do it. As a tip, try to save the 30 minutes of reading as the last thing you do before bed if you can and don’t check your phone at all. It’ll give your brain 30 minutes to unwind and produce more melatonin and you can passively build a habit of not using screens before bedtime.

Glad I can be of some motivation to you bro. Life really only matters if you have people to share it with, and that only matters if you have the right people to share it with or else it’s all for nothing. I’m definitely going to add meditation and keep on no fap and yoga once I’m able to balance my mind and my body a bit. I’d do cold showers but I grew up at times without having heating so I psychologically can’t do cold showers but I appreciate the suggestions.

Thank you for the insight man. Being a logic oriented person I realize that one has concrete benefits whereas one doesn’t. Hell, I could be unsuccessful with girls for the whole time I live on my own and still have all my debt to look forward to.
