I have to really disagree that men need intense physical activity. We're like huskies, so don't get one if you're not prepared to take it out for a run every day. /s

Uhhh, it's not ad hominem when you accuse someone as being "naive and presumptuous", when you're clearly presuming far more.....

ISTP-A...? I don't know what any of this means, apparently I'm assertive? I don't think I am... buuuuut I've looked at the picture and decided to start training to become an air force pilot on Monday. Good test. :)

Having to resort to the dictionary is a pathetic tactic. It really isn't if you don't understand the definition... I mean, you kinda sorta prompted it. I wish "you righties" (?) would just use words more goodly.

Just write what you think RP is, as if you were RP. Though honestly, it's probably a trap just to get you to make some tiny little irrelevant misunderstanding so the banner of "see, you don't even get it" can be flown. Which itself makes this whole thing intersting to me because... it's basically a shit test...

I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) he's just saying that for you to criticize RP in any meaningful way, you should understand it. As a way of showing you understand it, he's asking that you write up a faux description as though you are one yourself. Make it so convincing that someone who already subscribes to RP would read it and think "I couldn't have said it better" or something along those lines. That would show that you have a grasp of what RP means. EDIT: For the record, I don't know…

That's funny, I've always heard that whole "science" thing say mid-thirties was the peak for women and it was mid twenties for men, or something like that... maybe they found some new evidence....

I think you are waaaaaay over thinking this. You need to stop and think about why you are even building this sort of narratives when there are far simpler answers. Sure, sometimes people shit test. So here's a tip: avoid those people in your life.

Hmm, I was never taught that. I don't know where I would have been. I see how it would be convenient for TRP if I was taught that though... but I don't think I ever was.

You're point in your post was she would have done it to test the guy, not that she is worried about being a slut. Damn it, I lost those goalposts again. Anyone seen them?

Do we get to count her against all the dozens (probably more) of people (men and women) in a similar position who don't say crazy shit?

I didn't say there aren't crazy people... but you're only hearing the loudest voice that you think proves your point...

No I do... that was my point. That we all do. Everyone. I'm sure you do too. I'm sure everyone does, depending on the situation, the context, the people, the yadada..... APALT.

It's an assumption in many places that men are just a step away from raping errybody. Is it? That sounds like a big assumption being made to begin with. I live in a city with a number of post-secondary institutions, 2 of which have had some rape-scandals in the last 2 years, and despite a rather powder-keg type atmosphere about the topic of rape and all that jazz, I've not heard anyone say anything to the tune of "all men will rape you" (with the exception of your tumblr SJW crazies on occasion)…

it's funny because, if OP had have just thought about it for a second, maybe he would have realized the most basic thinking on this, which is pretty much what you've posted... but something tells me there ain't a lot of thinkin' going on to begin with...

No, actually, you did. First off, I didn't do shit, I'm just responding here. But in your defense, it wasn't you who made the claim either, you're just defending it. But you're defense is, "show me where that's not the case", but no one has shown that it is the case to begin with. Start there. Just so we're on the same page here (this being the internet and all) the claim I'm referring to is: that there has been a campaign against men saying that fitness is ineffective with women.

Ah yes, the ole "prove to me that it's NOT that way, oh you can't?... i win." You made the claim, back it up. I was saying this somewhere the other day, but I gotta know where in the hell do all you men grow up or live where people say "don't be fit, don't exercise, don't better yourself in some way"? Now, I'm in Canada, but I don't think it's THAT different from the US (or wherever). And sure, I'm not saying people actually follow the advice... But hell, that sort of thing was constantly pounde…

This is what I'm saying... where does this come from? I guess I'm not that old (30), but I've never been told "looks don't matter, it's all about how you present yourself". It's always been both. I mean, I guess no one ever said "hit the gym and lift bro", but the more general "be active and in general good shape and don't eat like shit". I probably should've listened. Same with "treat her like a princess". Do people really say this? I mean, I'm know that some people do, but I've never really th…

I'm sure he may have. I can't remember that special well enough, but in any case, it's beside the point, but thanks for making note. I'm pretty sure that WAS the point. That was like, the uhhhh. punchline to the whole thing.

Meh, you say expand, I say escalate I guess. Not that it matters. But, didn't we start this comment string as a discussion about how TRP is new in name only... how'd we get to " single mothers raising putrid fem-boys" and "a woman can raise a boy, but a woman cannot raise a man" etc etc.. like, only 4 comments deep. EDIT: I don't think I have to ask this, but I assume everyone is aware of the "well that escalated quickly" reference?

I wouldn't debate what you say the origin is of each sub... but there's what something was built to be, and what it ends up being, and those things are not always the same.
