He's not a boy, but a grown man and has been for some time. One might not find such behavior surprising, but excusing grown adults for indulging the most base portion of their natures as though they were naughty children who didn't know better is why we as a society have watched standards of behavior fall so far. It's not illegal, no, but it is still unacceptable, especially from a man who attempts to claim his social position. Mr. Trump is not someone I would wish my captain to emulate in any w…

I love this stuff, and have spent a lot of time over the last year or two refining my personal palette. (I think, to an extent, the "seasons" are fairly limited, although they're a great place to start - I ended up taking a couple of photos of myself without makeup in natural light and plopping them in photoshop, then building palettes off of samples I pulled from my skin, eyes, and hair.) The closest standard palette to my coloring is a the "deep winter soft" or "dusty deep winter" depending on…

We live in a pedestrian-city and he carries his laptop home from work with him. So if I know he's out drinking after work, or working late, if it gets to be about midnight I'll text "Proof of life?" or glance at Find-my-Friends to make sure he's OK. He's never given any indication that this irritates him at all; he tends to be an early-to-bed, early-to-rise sort, so midnight is rather late for him. (I wouldn't be surprised if he uses my text as a convenient ruse to make his excuses and come home…

Following your lead and staying away from political ramifications: I think it smacks - as so much of his behavior does - of over-compensatory, insecure tendencies. A secure, mature, genuinely alpha man - especially one who has decided to get married - does not feel the need to flaunt his infidelities (if he is prone to infidelities) to win the approval of men he barely knows. Why should Mr. Trump have cared at all what Billy Bush's opinion of him or his prowess was? By seeking Bush's approval, M…

Not everyone who votes in this community is a woman, for the record.

My DH of nearly a year and I do not believe the government deigns the right to marry (or many other things it does). It should either be a religious contract or a business contract. I'm sorry to respond to such an old thread, it's just that I adamantly agree with so much of what you've said here - but this puzzles me. If marriage is a largely a contract between two parties (and I agree that it is), why shouldn't the government oversee the contract? You file your incorporation papers with the gov…

Thank you so much for sharing this! Sorry for replying so late, but would you mind posting this as a google doc (or similar?) That way we can save a copy and edit it, etc.?

"These women have made choices I do not approve of. I will now encourage them to conform and make choices I would approve of, via shaming as social pressure." Nice demonstration of feminist solidarity, there. Way to show this community the error of its ways. I get it; I do. The recommendations given here to those seeking advice are demanding. If you happen to feel insecure about your looks or how nice you are to your partner, or how hard you're trying, having it confirmed here that - yes, love -…

I don't think I have my own style Everyone has a style. You may not have ever given it a lot of conscious thought, but there are definitely colors, shapes, and fabrics you prefer to wear, and those same categories that you would never, ever put on. I am a very casual person...I have all of my go-to type items (cardigans, flats, subtle accessories) Start there. This is very different from someone who says that they gravitate toward sparkly, jingly bangles and kitten heels. You have a style, becau…

I want to talk about what femininity means to me When you have a moment that you're not on mobile, I always appreciate when members here share this.

If you found that blog helpful, you may also like this really in-depth series - it has worksheets and breaks it down pretty far. About 2 years ago, I finally decided I'd had enough of hating how I looked. . .always, so I did something about it. I suppose I'm still doing things about it - but the clothes are pretty well sorted out!

If I thought that, I wouldn't continue to read what you have to say. I've simply noticed a few threads where women were advised to surrender desires that were fairly core to their motivational identities - schooling, careers that require high drives - in order to accommodate their partners. I'm not critiquing the advice; it was rock-solidly consistent. Furthermore, the women seeking it came here for the advice this community would give, and obviously value the perspective. I apologize for framin…

I found RPW via some discussion about it on one of the larger woman-oriented subreddits. They mentioned a suspicion that nearly all of the "women" here were actually RP-men masquerading as their fantasy of what women ought to be like. Given the vile things I'd seen RP-men say about actual women, I felt a rather morbid curiosity to see the conversation they'd have among themselves in drag. Obviously, that is not what this community is. I've been lurking here for about 6 months; maybe longer. My h…

There are really only 3 models shown there. The 7 qt., then two 6 qts., then two 5 qt. tilt-heads. The leftmost one is the 7, the middle two are the 6s, and the rightmost two are the 5s. Those two on the right are also the tilt-head models, while the both the 6s and the 7 are the type where the bowl itself raises and lowers with a lever. All that stuff about how many wires the whisk has, or how many points the "planetary mixing action" makes are not stuff you need to worry about; the bigger the …

What's incredible is that there are so many people nowadays who think that women can't do certain things, including more masculine/physical ones, without relinquishing their feminine traits. This is about the only corner of the internet, though - and I have looked extensively - that recognizes this.
