Sometimes yeah... It's really tough to think about. She was the coolest, funniest quick witty, smartest person I've met and had a laugh that melted my heart. I think the small part of me that wishes I never met her just comes from the place of pain that she left me. If I never met her, I wouldn't be feeling the pain that I feel almost daily. So it's a double-edged sword, I also wouldn't have those wonderful years with her. Buying a house, adopting two wonderful dogs, playing video games for hour…

I was also ghosted. Came home to a note on the table. 7 years of marriage. 11 years together. The night before, we were cuddling on the couch watching modern family. Can't believe how easily she was being two faced. Here I am now 15 or so months later. One less dog, one less car, in a tiny apartment after being in a beautiful home, life's a fucking drag. But I didn't kill myself, which I came very close to. I'm proud of that. And very happy this sub exists.

I know I'm very lucky in that regard, but it's been over a year and I'm still head over heels for this woman. She did some long term damage

I'm right there with you minus a child luckily. Signed paperwork with the realtor two days ago and listing our house next week. Moving into a shit 1br apartment. Lost my wife, my cars, my home. Starting ALL over at 36. The only upside is the money Im getting from the house but that doesn't replace the love I have for my ex-wife.

I'm sorry OP. It's the most excruciating pain I've ever felt. A year ago I came home to a note that basically said exactly that. No discussion or ultimatum or anything. You're going to feel like you want to die for a long time. Shit, a year later and some days I still want to. She was my best friend and I literally would have walked my feet to the bone for her. I miss her so fucking much. The one thing I hated hearing from everyone was "it will get better". It's so damn cliche but it's true. I a…

Oh yes. The day I got home to a note I had to call the suicide hotline which calmed me somewhat in the moment. The day after I had a suicide note and a noose tied from an extension cord. I couldn't take it, I really didn't want to live without her. Her smile and laugh, her positive outlook on everything, our hobbies were all the same, she was my absolute dream girl. But she left the dogs. I couldn't leave them. I couldn't leave our boys with my body hanging from the stairs. I couldn't leave my d…

Sleeping or awake, doesn't matter. I'm always thinking of her. How she gave up when I believe we could have worked on it.

I've been thinking about this exact thing. After I sell the house, I wanna pocket 10k and take a solo trip. Just be by myself in a foreign land for a week or two. New Zealand is high up there, but also the most costly.

It's so hard to say anything negative about her... Really nothing but wonderful memories until that day. I know she obviously was hiding a lot, but the woman I saw was my dream girl. We talked about starting an ice cream shop, our world destinations we wanted to see... It just doesn't make sense. She had to have met someone else that's all that makes sense. Some new exciting hottie and I was just the old and busted.

In every sense of the expression. We were cuddling on the couch with our dogs watching Modern Family the night before. The next day, When I text her I was on my way home she hearted the text. Normally it was an "ok baby" reply but nothing too strange. I walked up the stairs and there was a one page note that amounts to " I'm sorry goodbye". We were together for 10 years, married for 7. Absolutely blind sided. No discussion, no argument, no ultimatum, she just left. The was over 9 months ago and …

This is such a funny coincidence! Just today, no more than 6 hrs ago, I was wiping my ass and it dawned on me that I haven't bought toilet paper since she left! She left in September. I think I've only changed the roll maybe 3 times. I do have a bidet attachment too. Im pretty sure she was eating it because we were buying tp seemingly monthly.

Nice work OP. Really impressive for 6 months. I'm at 9mo and I've done nearly fuck all. Landed a really nice gig that I start soon but still haven't been to a gym (too expensive) or talked to any women (too intimidating). I'm still depressed and scarred.

Her email signature still has my last name, but her Google account (and I'm sure everything else) has her maiden name again. I asked her about the signature and she said it's because it's still legally her last name and she'll change it when the divorce is finalized. I hate seeing it.

I got snipped about 3yrs into our marriage. We both didn't want kids, tho I had a lot of pressure from grandparents since I'm the youngest of my name. So the name will literally die with me. Anyway, now that I'm snipped and divorced, I feel like my desirability will be way down. I ultimately still don't want kids, but since the option is no longer there any potential partners will not be interested long term.

Have to say it but my ex and I DID all this together. We'd play Civilization all night long. Door dash Cheesecake factory an hour before they closed, and enjoyed collectables. Your list is remarkably accurate to the exact things I miss about her.

I listen to books at work, all the music I enjoy(ed) I enjoyed with her so I get too many feels that gets me emotional. So I've switched to audible and have finished - Atomic Habits x2, how to win friends and influence people x2, Lost Connections (really good dive into depression) and the classic, 48 Laws of Power. I can recommend them all.

I was kinda weird for a bit. As she was stonewalling me, I reached out to her dad and brother a lot I think just to hear from someone that wasn't on my side. We still chat, we're all friends on Steam so talk about games and shit.

You mean you'd rather post to anonymous strangers than speak to an actual mental health professional? Not a wise move my man. A therapist really helped me after my wife left me. Looking someone in the eye and talking about shit will always be better than keyboarding to randoms. Good luck

I'm sorry op that's tough. I just got a Google email yesterday stating [stbxw] has declined this event. The event was our anniversary in March... I emailed and said "what the fuck [name] thanks for making sure to notify all parties" she replied and said "oh I didn't mean to it didn't give me an option?!" I went to the event and canceled it and guess what pop up I got... " Would you like to send an email informing everyone" ... Fucking wrecked me

4k Blu rays are still being manufactured man, they're not just DVDs. They are superior picture and audio quality, come with extra content and in some cases cool items. For example my True Romance collectors edition has a lot of cool shit. A book from Tarantino with good movie trivia, post cards, nerdy shit. Im not paying for Netflix or anything like that. That's for rich people or suckers. We had a very high quality home theater system that is now sold, unfortunately. Thanks for the downvote zoo…

Sorry op. I'm approaching 4 months of my wife moving out. I still get these too. It's difficult sleeping in the bed we shared. Her side is still her side. I have to say that I am still madly in love with her. Well, at least the woman I thought she was. I miss everything about her, All the hobbies we did together. All the movies that we purchased together are still on the shelf. It's insane. I don't know how long this will go on for. I wish I could just find some answer to why she left. I never g…

I'm also in Minnesota! My wife moved out in September, unknowingly. I came home to a note after texting normally earlier that day and even cuddling on the couch the night before. It's been wild few months. Hopefully selling the house this spring for a chunk of cash and I'll be in an apartment starting over.

Great question I asked about digital photos recently too. All of the physical photos around the house are in the trash long gone and my Google photo album "memories" have been disabled. I haven't been able to delete them yet, I get a nasty churning in my stomach when I see them. On vacations, in bed, just random photos of us make me sick. I don't have the heart to delete them yet.

I'm not mad at all. In fact quite amused at your determination. After looking at your history you're just using hurt men as your soapbox to spew your garbage. Leave it out. Again, if you have an experience with what we are going through please share, otherwise piss off. This is not a sub to spread whatever belief you have.

Happy birthday! I still very much love my stbx. I wish I didn't. In fact I told her I hated her for what she did but it was a lie. I still lay in bed sometimes crying myself to sleep while watching TV. If I roll over and close my eyes I get so fucking doleful thinking about her. She left 3 months ago. We're all here together. Thankfully this sub exists so we all have each other, knowing each one of us share this black pit of sadness, frustration, confusion, uncertainty. It's fucking scary. Happy…

3 months in here and still a puddle of sadness and depression. I don't have any nearby friends so it's just PC gaming that helps distract from the pain. So to answer your question, I'm not. Just waiting for time to pass by long enough I guess.

I'm so fucking sorry op. I thankfully still have both. She asked to take one of them(the one that was more attached to her) but I didn't let her. I told her straight up you're not going to disappear on me then show up and take one of my dogs. He's still here in bed next to me.

Dude yes!! I'm trying to get over my depression (3mo ago she left) and this is obviously the number one advice I received. I actually texted my neighbor who I never speak with. They're gym goers. Always in gym gear and fit. I don't have any discipline to go my own so I asked if I could tag along and have them kinda train me, force me into going. She said they'd love to get some plan together. Hopefully soon I'll be hitting the gym too. I put on quite the dad bod the last couple years. I also mad…

I did end up disabling the "This time on..." and all those reminder notifications. I don't dare scroll down to our honeymoon / wedding. Maybe im still too shook for it. Couple months in from my wife abandoning the house. I still find myself in the shower hoping to hear the dogs start barking because the garage door is opening and she's coming back. Over a month from my wife abandoning the house. I have no, absolutely zero, intention of getting married again. Knowing people, even the people you trust with your life, can just up and disappear. I'm never going to put myself in that/this situation again. I'm an emotionless, depressed, cynical piece of shit now and don't see myself getting married ever again. Hopefully I can find a woman that thinks the same, but right now I'm totally ready to die alone.

I hear you op. She left completely unexpected on me too a month ago. I'm still a hollow shell. Emotionless basically. Just me and the dogs (who can tell something is seriously weird in the house now). They look at me and it feels like a "what did you do with Mom, dad?" And I just say "mom left us boys. Mom couldn't handle the life we grew together and she left" I too was ready to see this woman old and grey. Near me as I die. It's indescribable pain. I'm sorry you are experiencing this feeling. …
